"Many of you have felt that effect from your frequent experiences with the Holy Ghost. For instance, in the mission field some of you had to rely on the Spirit to have the words to teach what the people needed. More than once, and perhaps every day, you had the blessing that Nephi and Lehi had among the people in their mission, described in Helaman:
And it came to pass that Nephi and Lehi did preach unto the Lamanites with such great power and authority, for they had power and authority given unto them that they might speak, and they also had what they should speak given unto them-
Therefore they did speak unto the great astonishment of the Lamanites, to the convincing them, insomuch that there were eight thousand of the Lamanites who were in the land of Zarahemla and round about baptized unto repentance, and were convinced of the wickedness of the traditions of their fathers. [Helaman 5:18-19]
Although you may not have been blessed with so miraculous a harvest, you have been given words by the Holy Ghost when you surrendered your heart to the Lord’s service. At certain periods of your mission, such an experience came often. If you will think back on those times and ponder, you will also remember that the increase in your desire to obey the commandments came over you gradually. You felt less and less the tug of temptation. You felt more and more the desire to be obedient and to serve others. You felt a greater love for the people.
One of the effects of receiving a manifestation of the Holy Ghost repeatedly was that your nature changed. And so, from that faithful service to the Master, you had not only the witness of the Holy Ghost that Jesus is the Christ but you saw evidence in your own life that the Atonement is real. Such service, which brings the influence of the Holy Ghost, is an example of planting the seed, which Alma described:
And now, behold, because ye have tried the experiment, and planted the seed, and it swelleth and sprouteth, and beginneth to grow, ye must needs know that the seed is good.
And now, behold, is your knowledge perfect? Yea, your knowledge is perfect in that thing, and your faith is dormant; and this because you know, for ye know that the word hath swelled your souls, and ye also know that it hath sprouted up, that your understanding doth begin to be enlightened, and your mind doth begin to expand.
O then, is not this real? I say unto you, Yea, because it is light; and whatsoever is light, is good, because it is discernible, therefore ye must know that it is good; and now behold, after ye have tasted this light is your knowledge perfect?
Behold I say unto you, Nay; neither must ye lay aside your faith, for ye have only exercised your faith to plant the seed that ye might try the experiment to know if the seed was good.
And behold, as the tree beginneth to grow, ye will say: Let us nourish it with great care, that it may get root, that it may grow up, and bring forth fruit unto us. And now behold, if ye nourish it with much care it will get root, and grow up, and bring forth fruit. [Alma 32:33-37]
Now, if you and I were visiting alone (I wish we could be), where you felt free to ask whatever you wanted to ask, I can imagine your saying something like this: “Oh, Brother Eyring, I’ve felt some of the things you have described. The Holy Ghost has touched my heart and mind from time to time. But I will need it consistently if I am not to be overcome or deceived. Is that possible? Is it possible, and, if it is, what will it take to receive that blessing?”
Well, let’s start with the first part of your question. Yes, it is possible. Whenever I need that reassurance-and I need it from time to time too-I remember two brothers. Nephi and Lehi, and the other servants of the Lord laboring with them, faced fierce opposition. They were serving in an increasingly wicked world. They had to deal with terrible deceptions. So I take courage-and so can you-from the words in this one verse of Helaman. The reassurance is tucked into the account of all that happened in an entire year, almost as if to the writer it was not surprising." -Henry B. Eyring

Thank you for sharing your testimony. Please continue to keep up the good work. I pray for all of us with addictions. I am so grateful for our Lord Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for each of us. In my wonderment as I pray, and see him on the cross. Looking down below his feet on the ground, how many drops of blood and Stripes belong to me? Brings tears to my eyes with gratefulness. Always be grateful! Thank you for sharing and may the Lord strengthen you beyond your understanding!

I sure do thank the Lord God Almighty for sending us prophets, seers, and revelators to guide us in these latter days. I know that President Eyring is called of God. His counsel has encouraged me to be more worthy to receive the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost in my life.

As I have studied Come Follow Me the past 2 years, I have felt very strongly that the word MOTIVE is what life is about. Why do I do what I do. I loved President Eyring’s emphasis on this principle. One of the requirements to have the Holy Ghost with me is to have pure motives, the same purpose as the Lord has. That is my challenge, to do what I do for the right reason. Thank you, President Eyring!

I’ve listened to the inspired words and prophetic witness of Elder Eyring since I was a very young man. I love him. He’s an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Random thought: Love your parents, but love your Father in Heaven who created your parents who also created you. Then love your neighbor and show kindness or give to people so that they may also feel the Holy Ghost, even in those moments of crisis trust in God that He may do on to you as well.

Around 4:14. Sensation of light. Yes. That is witness of the holy ghost. The holy ghost is clarity. The holy ghost is not emotions. Emotions may arise from you as you feel the holy ghost but realize that just cuz someone cried or just cuz you cried may not mean you feel the spirit. Crying symbolizes healing. Ask the lord for clarity. I was stuck on that stumbling block for a while. Hope it helps all you seekers out there.
The Comforter was needed tonight and this talk brought such Peace to my heart and fed my Spirit... this was just what I needed

Many years ago my home teacher was given a warning that my children and my lives we're in danger. He helped me as a single mom.
Listening to these men of God, prophets in these last days, always brings peace to my soul and life.
What a blessed time in my life when the words of an apostle can be heard!
Since listening to this almost a month ago, I can't help to listen again and again. This is my 5th or 7th time.

The holy spirit radiates infectiously from him the moment he opens his mouth.
While taking a test in histology I prayed for help 3 times, and got help. On the 4th time, the Lord said in my mind, Jan, I know what these cells are, you are the one being tested, not me! I.laughed so much.! I didn't ask again!

I still remember hearing this talk at the institute building when I was a brand new college student. At the time I was incredibly homesick and wondered if I could ever measure up to being a good student, I barely graduated high school. I had so many negative voices in my hand. As I listened to the talk I felt peace that I was in the right place. Peace and assurance that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ loved me. As Henry B Eyring continued to speak I was overcome with great emotions, tears began to fall from my eyes, and I wept for joy knowing the Holy Spirit would be with me during this time of insecurity. I Thank President Eyring for always being on the Lord’s errand!

Your talk has inspired me to do better in all that i do and have the holy spirit has a constant companion. I have a testimony that the holy ghost really is here with us and prompts us to do good things. I feel the power and wonder of the spirit when i invite it in my life. It effects me deeply when the holy ghost is with me. Im glad to know that millions of others feel the spirit and know how much of a positive impact it has on our lives. Oh how l have always loved hearing our Elder HBEyring speaking of the Holy Ghost....for soooo many years. At one time he annoyed me because he is soooooo soft spoken.
Also he speaks so slow. I have repented. He speaks as clear as a bell of the Holy Ghost, testifying so assuredly, so knowledgeably.
I hear every word. Thank you Elder Eyring for your tuition. My own experience is deep too of the Holy Ghost. It is true..The Holy Ghost bears witness of alllllĺ truths. God bless you for your service and tuition to us.

A wonderful, humble, Apostle and true disciple of Christ.
From the time that I was baptized I felt the Holy Spirit. The feeling was so intense that I thought every where that I went the people around saw something around me until a Church Member told me that I won't be so aware of it because it will be part of me.
The Holy Ghost is one of the greatest gifts ever. I am a sound member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Yes you can feel the Holy Ghost especially when it touches your heart. People can feel and will be attracted to you by the sweet Spirit you walk around with. Your language needs to playing and to the point. That way no one could read between the lines of your speech. One thing I can promise you is, the more we all repent the more inspiration we will receive. Receiving inspiration comes through obedience. Many people receive inspiration daily to guide them on their path , so they can accomplish their work for the Lord. When you get the thought to call or go see a friend or family member, do it. If you have the thought even in your busy schedule to help someone, do it. When someone is in need you don't really need inspiration to help them . We all pass up inspiration sometimes but don't make a habit of it. You never know when it will change our lives forever. Don't get Temptation mixed up with inspiration from the Lord even our ancestors. Discernment will help you know the difference between Satan's counterfeit of Truth. If a soldier is inspired to put his armor on before he goes to war that day and ignores the prompting from the spirit. He want come back alive. Listening to the spirit of Truth is very important and that's where the Holy Ghost comes in. Always seek and pray for truth and ask for discernment, this way, you will know the difference between fiction and Truth. We all have plenty questions , that will always be. It does a lot of good to ask when praying for these Mysteries to be given to you. Stay clear from those who Mock and criticize ,and you will even have some that will try to change your mind. Once you learn truth you can never deny it. Truth is the solid foundation we must all stand on. One thing to remember, if you don't have many patients, the Lord will teach you patience. If you lose patience with the Lord it won't be long before you fall through the cracks back where you used to be. You are the Lord's masterpiece he wants you to be with the Crown of Glory. One thing I have learned in my younger years, when life gets hard and your getting close to the end of your rope. We have heard people say, I'm almost at the end of your rope. This is the time you get down on your knees and plead for help. Tell our Heavenly Father what is going on in your life and you need help, you can't do it any longer. You got to have help. Ask and plead with Him to help you with your burdens and this heavy load you're carrying. Never doubt your request for help. This heavy load will be lifted from your mind and shoulders! That is a promise!

I love this talk we must always be ready for our savior Jesus Christ I remember the story of the 10 Virgoans 5 were wise and 5 were foolish it hit my heart I felt the Holy Ghost telling me to be more wise and a whole less foolish and more wiser.

Around the 26 min. marker he talks about having scientific principles revealed as true. I had been concerned that I always "felt the spirit" when I considered the organization and perfect structures I observed through arts and sciences. I knew it was not good to be over smart, and did not want to risk becoming too smart (not wise), and this was the answer I needed. Truth is Truth, regardless where I find it. I no longer feel guilty for seeking, because I seek the same thing in religious studies as I do academic ones, neither proves the other. Having strong arms doesn't make doing leg workouts bad. The whole body ought to be strengthened, no? Moderation in the pursuit of truth as well. Sorry, such an observation might have been kept to myself, but I thought, "if you struggle with this, others likely do too." So, I made my comment.

A balance is Important , after all, our creation and all that is good has a spiritual connection, it has to be that way and by using prayer and pleading for discernment we can learn of the world , the truths and also the deception which we know are in our existence on our walk on this earth , we are all spiritually and physically connected to our earth home and we can see the hand of God in all things . We are living in amazing times when we are witnessing a great spiritual battle a blessing indeed . We are admonished to know all that is in the heavens above us and the ground below us. It is required that we do all we can to care for our earth by being good stewards and not living under the umbrella of another's faith ,without being aware of just how great our own faith is , when we choose to follow it,
in the full knowledge of the great battle that is our privilege to witness in these last days . I love all truth .
Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes from Joseph Smith: “A true Mormon is someone who searches for truth wherever he (she) can find it.”

Thank you Lord for this Great servant and excellent example also each one of the 12. Blessed be our prophet to lead us in these last days. One day we will miss the internet that brings the stalks into each home, any hour of the day. I'm grateful for technology and to be able to live in these precious days right now. We Are The Most Blessed people, I believe in all history even 100 years ago!

I have been a member of the church my whole life since I was born within the covenant. Around my late teens when I went to university to a city far from my family, I became less active in the church. A lot has happened during those years when I was out of church but I'm 28 years old now and all I can say is that the decision I made which was to come back to the fold was influenced by the spirit and this has been the best decision I have done my whole life. I now live my daily life striving to always have the companionship of the Holy Ghost for I have seen that there is safety in the Gospel.
Thank you for sharing your story. It's truly inspiring to hear how the Spirit guided you back to the fold and how you've found strength and safety in the gospel. We're glad to have you as part of the Church community! May you continue to feel the Lord's blessings always.
