  • In this video I'm gonna give 10 small changes to succeed in the Military. Air Force promotions can be difficult if you don’t prepare right. I sucked at being successful in the Air Force for about my first 10 years. After trial and error, I've learned how to be a better leader and Airmen. If you're trying to take control of your military career or become a better military leader, or promote I hope these 10 tips can help you achieve that.

    I’ve been in the Air Force for 8 years now and your tips are right on the money. In the past year, I have learned these tips on my own and I wish I understood them before. I guess that’s part of my growth and I’m thankful for this video because as I was watching it, it gave me time to reflect on my career as far as when I learned each step and which ones I am still working on right now. I must say, Tip #1 needs to be at every work center. I wish I learned this when I was an airman and as a young NCO. Tip#7, Watch your Mouth, is something I am learning to express in better ways. I just know that I fluff people’s feathers when I speak up for my airmen. Thank you for a great video. Keep it going!

    • @Jodywithawhy
      @Jodywithawhy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you for the transparency. Man it took me about 12 years to really learn this stuff, so I take my hat off to you for learning this at 8 years. One more tip I learned, if you don’t want to ruffle peoples feathers, the best thing I’ve noticed is if you first massage their ego, you can get people to listen and buy in to you.

      @@Jodywithawhy That is a great tip! Thank you! I will keep that in mind and keep working on it! Coincidentally, I am reading this book called, "How to win friends, and influence People" by Dale Carnegie and that tip is on there! And thank you for the complement but I have most definitely been lucky with having the wrong people around me and learning from them then having the right people around me to support me. I will definitely share your channel with all of my airmen. You just can't share these types of lessons enough.

    Tip 2 !!!!!✊🙌🙌✍️
    And that applies in every area of life!!!! Jody you think you can make a video on how long it’ll take you to ship out from the moment you have your first meet with your recruiter??? Thanks! 🙏

    • @Jodywithawhy
      @Jodywithawhy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea number 2 took me years to figure out. I honestly used to think in order to be successful, someone who was already successful needed to help me. It wasn’t until I took my responsibility for my lack of success, that I actually started to find success. 🥴
      As far as the process, I can make a video. But for you right now, it really case by case. It depends on qualifications, date of availability and job preference list. Depending on these, it can be anywhere from 1-12 months, but on average 3-6 months.

      @@Jodywithawhy hahaha No worries, I'm not being that serious at the end of day. Anyone should be allowed to read and do whatever they want...And like the Bible, it can be used as guide, and Not "Must Do's"... But its NOT the book, its the person, Grant Cardone. He is a very controversial Scientologist and there are many videos that talk about his shady dealings. So yeah in a way, buying the book indirectly supports Him and Scientology.
      Also, I am currently in the recruiting process here in Puerto Rico✌️🇵🇷, and have been using your channel for helpful tips and info, and even the "Back and Forth Show" on the Air Force Channel. Already crushed the ASVAB, TAPAS and Cyber, and now have my MEPS Physical appointment for Wednesday next week 💪... And despite my name, I HAVE NEVER used drugs 🤣😉
