This is a very clever mix of CMY/lithophane integration on a 3d printer. Love it!
Interesting thing i learned when i started at a print shop. The K in CMYK actually stands for "key". Back in the day when we printed using a press, each color had its own plate. The "key" plate was the plate that contained the smaller details of the print, usually the the black part of the print containing outlines, shadows, etc. I'd say your use of the white here to form the shadows and details definitely qualifies it as a key color.
Thanks for the interesting videos!
Yup that’s exactly how it works here. You gave a great explanation on what the key is for.
Huh, I’d always thought that the K was for black, used for undercolor removal and reducing the total ink amount in dark areas.
Also, "key" is not called "black" because it's not black. It's dark grey. It's dark grey because usually key prints as the last color because text in key overprints over everything else minimizing the need to keep white space in let's say a bright image where it might result in registration issues (not accurately pressing in the white space). For text, key is black enough but actual rich black is actually combination of 100%K + some CMY.
we still do that today in offset printing
This is dope and my dad would've loved it. he printed some pretty awesome greyscale lithos before he passed in '20. Thanks for the smile 👍
I love how to bambulab printers JUST WORK. Hope to get one as soon they become available in my country :)
What country are you in?
Omg more!!! I love Lithopanes!
Wow, nice print!
Gorgeous lithopane - and it only took 2kg of plastic between purge/wipes and actual printing!
Mmmm no, it changes color by height probably it waste less than 20g
Eh the purge is generally less than 15g for such thin prints like this.
Ohh Mihai, please we need your support settings! Last time I used standard supports instead of tree supports with PETG it completely melted together with the other layers and I couldn't get them off😢
Check your Z distance on the support. I think stock it’s 0.2 mm but lately I’ve been doing .1 with success.
Where do you buy the LED's?
no idea where he got his, but Bambulabs sells them
For awhile now I’ve been thinking that the way you talk and your voice especially sound so much like Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb animation.
Your shorts have sold me on bambu
Wait till you meet one in person😊
@paulc5797 my ender 3 is staring at me and tearing up as I read this..lmao
It looks Sick!
If you wanted to sell a lot of those that looks like an actual reason to look at the stripped down version of the printer
Wow , love it!
Super cool!
Looking great! There is also HueForge front-lit printed paintings ;-)
Nice dude!
I look forward to your videos every day. Whats your impressions on the P1P ?
Thats so cool
Awesome
I have no interest in artsy 3D printer stuff but that is a good use for the P1P and AMS color change system.
Good morning. Would it be possible to put the link of the LEDs?
i want it also
Just redeemed my backlight from Bambu 😊 can't wait for it to arrive so I can try this out. Do you have a comparison of printing with the 0.4 compared to the 0.2 nozzle?
Assuming it doesn’t vary the line width like cura can do it means you can print lines that are half as thick as with a 0.4 mm nozzle. On prints without fine details you won’t see a difference but in prints with fine details you will be able to print finer, or sharper details.
Just from my upgraded ender 3 pro, there is a large difference between using a 0.4 mm nozzle and a 0.25 mm nozzle. Smaller nozzles do take longer to print with though and since when using a small nozzle you are probably using a smaller layer height too it take even longer.
@@conorstewart2214 I meant specifically for lithopanes done on Bambulab printers. Thanks for the reply though.
I have the cmyk kit minus the led backlight (it was gone from
The store almost instantly). Does yours say who makes it? I really wanna buy a few of them to have. Thanks! Also have you tried hueforge?
I’ve also been wondering where to get ore LED backlights
Same same
@Broskisnowskiwith the usb plug? Got a link?
I actually did it with the 0.4 nozzle and it worked perfectly, still ordered a 0.2 just in case haha 😅
Wow, that’s gorgeous! Is the printer actually mixing the colors together to get non-primary hues, or is it just a matter of printing very thin layers? Does it “dither” by putting down little dots in some places?
Awesome OMG
Very cool
Now that's cool. But I've always printed my lithophanes standing up on the edge interesting how this came out going to try with my ercf
They come out great this way also to do it the other way with 4 color
Changes per layer, the print would take forever. As it stands now for the size photo for bambu’s frame it prints in 10.5ish hours give or take
Awesome ! Where did you buy the LED panel ? :D
they still don’t have these in store for Canada yet
Wow! So cool! How much print time for the lytophanes and for the frame? Cheers from Spain 🇪🇸 ❤
Photos that size with a 0.2 nozzle took about 10.5 hours for me on average
On the x1c
Sweet
Beutyful!
Is the frame stl available from Bambu? Or did you find that someplace else? 🎉
Man that nozzle swap was so easy
Not really - if you dont carefully unplug the connectors you can rip off the Sockets from the Board and that is not a spare part in babus shop
Can you pls link the led panel? I'm really interested to get one
can we get links to the 3d file for frame & where to buy backlight please?
❤❤❤🎉🎉awsome
How did you get it to print the colors in the places they were supposed to go?
Hueforge lithophane is more awesome, because its visible with and without backlight 😎
where do you get the LED backlight?
Where did you get the light thingy? 😂
Where did you buy the led panel.
I recieved my LED Board today. Current Draw 1 Ampere. Amazing😂
Where did he get the led panel from?
you got a voron 2.4r2?
Can someone link or give the name of this LED plate he had?
Hello where do you buy these LED PCB board please?
Thanks
how can i get the led pannel?
how did you do the lithophanes, did you use a specific website?

@@pieterpennings9371 i missed that, my apologies, thanks!
what is the light? pleasee
Stop making me want an ams 😂 with that 50 dollar voucher im definitely picking one up though 😏
Oooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaooooooooooooooooooooo
Luigi
That light is insane overkill.
Hey, clever guy. Why don't you try to "3-D" print a damn. Because I don't give one... Booyah, dude.
There’s always got to be an edge lord somewhere.. oooo so edgy bro…
You need Beaver in your life
Hi bro..., they say that lithophanes come out better when printed vertically. good job
That would require a lot of filament changes... maybe if it's all white
Should print them standing up
Awesome
