Patience is such a vibe. Maybe you had to be there, but this song has such a special place in every GNR fan's heart.
It's been my favorite GNR song since I was a young kid.
I'd jam out to this and Meat Loaf Bat Out of Hell.

Izzy Stradlin, rhythm guitarist, wrote this and a bunch of their other songs.
Gn'R just wasn't the same without his input.
He co wrote nearly all of their good songs. Izzy was the glue and without him they were not the same. Their sound changed for the worse without Steven Adler too.

GnR did a whole trilogy video series back in the early 90's that was really good. Check out November Rain, Estranged, and then Don't cry. In that order and official videos since that form a mini movie...
Nobody can deny axle singing powers he has a very unique voice that can give you a high growl to this little gem listen to one-in-a-million on the lies lies lies album the first side is pure concert rock and roll and they kill it the second side is all acoustic and it is done brilliantly.
This song was huge in the spring of '89. I was 17 and me and my buddies loaded up a van and left Ohio for Daytona Beach for spring break. This song defined the soundtrack of that trip...good memories. Thanks guys...

Ahhhhh axl rose. Definitely a singer you can break down on a molecular level. There are times where he has been the best singer around. Guns n roses cover of hair of the dog. His voice sounds like it could chew on a bowling ball. And spit out the bones of his enemies!!!!!!!! Ferocious range

Yay, another one of mine won the poll! As others said, watch the official video sometime. I don't know if it's the whistling, or the hip swaying (or both), but it made me fall in love with Axl for a minute +, despite his bad boy reputation 😅. I love hearing his true vocals, he has quite a range and can sing anything.

I like the lyrics videos. So many reactors get distracted from “ what’s going on in the video “ and forget about the music and kill the song!
I always thought the final vocal being an inward breath, with no note after, was like he sang his peace, and now he was going to shut up about it, as we men do.
Not watching the official video with this reaction was a lost opportunity. The video really helps the experience and understanding of the song's deeper meanings.

Guns N' Roses were an electric hard rock band in concert, and their 1987 album 'Appetite for destruction' captured their wild side... It came as a surprise that Guns released an EP 'GNR Lies' in 1988... and 'Patience' was 1 (of 4) acoustic country-style ballads. Slash (lead guitar) recalled that it took 1 day to crank out their acoustic guitars and jam in the studio - 4 songs came out of that session, and the EP sold 2 million copies in the US. It showed a different side of Guns... Unfortunately, there was also some controversy when Axl Rose sang the last track 'One in a million' and used racial and sexual inflammatory words on it... Slash (who is half-black) was particularly angry when he heard Axl use the 'n' word... David Geffen (of their label Geffen Records) was furious when he learned about the song (he was a gay man and took it personally)... Axl said he didn't intend to insult anyone, but like a young punk rocker, he didn't like being told what he could not say... He has since distanced himself from that track & never performed it live.
In 1993, Axl brought more controversy when he recorded a cover of a Charles Manson song ('Look at your game girl') that was a hidden track on Guns' covers album 'Spaghetti incident' (Slash refused to play on it).
Izzy Stradlin (guitar) also took heat for writing the song 'Used to love her' which was a twisted country song about someone who axed his gf and buried her in his backyard...
