Loved this video so much! I recently started using a tree fern fiber mix for my anthuriums and have been LOVING it. I’m so glad you’re making videos! I can already tell your channel is going to be so so helpful and informative ☺️🫶🏽
Concise 👏 and 👏informative 👏! Thank you! I am really curious to try your mix, it’s different than what I normally here people using and love that you explained why you use each component. You’re plants are stunning so you’re obviously doing it right!
Curious about what 3 part fertilizer you use and how you mix the calmag and silica! Loved that you gave the info on what you have on the separate shelves and what light they’re getting
Great video! So informative. Thank you. When do you move seedlings from the tray to their first net pot? I have a few seedlings with 3/4 leaves that I want to uppot but not sure if I should wait for more leaves. Also they seem to keep pushing new leaves so when would be a good time to change pot: when a new leaf starts emerging?
@@nxcplants great. I should be able to repot now then. They keep pushing new leaves. Do you wait for a particular moment before repotting: eg when a new leaf just starts emerging?
If curious if there is a reason for why are using a pon-mix instead of pure LECA? Also would like to know the reason for the wick instead of a reservoir at the bottom. Great content :3
Hello. You mentioned the three gallon bucket, what size net pot is that? I am have major issues trying to find something like that size net pot in Australia.
So i just got into seedlings. I have about 4 and the problem im having now is how to care for them. Should they be in a prop box? That invites fungal infections right? How long should they be in there?
@@nxcplants what does that look like? Fungal? Yellowing? Is there an email I can send you pics. Or FB? I promise I won't spam you lol. I shoulda just brought bigger plants 😅😅
Super helpful video and timely since I transited to self-watering wick setups recently! Does the fluval in the mix become "muddy" over time or is that not a concern for you?
Hey Nick, I've probably watched this video about 20 times since I'm quite new to this hobbie. So, can you give me the slightest idea to manage cuttings or props? I currently put my cuttings buried inside the same tree fern mix that you showed up, maybe inside is 100% humidity and 78.8F. Because the roots seem kinda rot under my situation, I don't know how often should I have to re-fill the water even tho the substrate is not dryied out. Thank you.
Once again plants are stunning and its really a testament to how the methods you use really seem to work. My question would be, can this substrate be used without semi hydro-ponics meaning without having them submerged in some sort of solution at all times? if not then would adding sphagnum moss could solve the issue ? (lookin forward for your next videos 💖)
Thank you. I only have experience using nutrient solution, or my seedling nutrient solution. I worry that without it there’s the potential for nutrient issues.
I feel this is the most comprehensive care guide for anthuriums I’ve seen. Thank you for taking the time to share what you have learned so far.
I made a more recent one that covers even more!
Great video!! 🤩 I always love seeing other people's setups
Thanks Kevin! It was a lot of fun sharing!
Would love to see links to the pots and other kit you’re using. I really like that big net pot in the bucket for the really big guys
I bought the big net pots locally at a hydroponics store, along with the 3.5 in. black net pots.
Super helpful video! Would love to see more in depth video of your tent setup.
Thanks! Will do!
Gorgeous healthy beautiful anthuriums!! Good content thank you 😊
Thank you
Thank you for sharing! I found this video very informative, I am looking forward to your next video 😁

Great video and thanks for giving us some more insights of your collection 😍😍🔥🔥

I love your grow tent setup! Very inspirational!
Thanks so much!
I love the mix absolutely love it and will be replicating it🖤🌸
Yay! Thank you!
Really interesting thank you for sharing 🥰

This is day 1 of ? Rewatching NxC videos.

Thanks for watching!
Ah I'm so jealous of your collection! I'm still an anthurium newbie but I'm making progress.
Great video
Thank you
Thank you for this great info, much appreciated! I think this growing medium would also be good for philodendrons and others.
I use the diy pon with everything!
Plant Poppin. 🙌🏽🙌🏾
Very interesting!!! Thanks for sharing. First timer on your channel and just subscribed.
Thanks and welcome
Keep it up 🙌🏼🔥
Thanks!
Heating mats are underrated for anthuriums. They looove to be warm and cozy. ☺
Great video. I appreciate the substrate details. That Hobgobline! Dammmmm. Where did you buy that 🙏
It’s from JV! He was the original breeder
Amazing video, I really needed this one. Nutrients next, please!
Thanks! Its a work in progress
I really like how nifty the grow-tent is! Any plans to incorporate alocasias?
I do grow some Alocasia in a different tent!
Curious about what 3 part fertilizer you use and how you mix the calmag and silica! Loved that you gave the info on what you have on the separate shelves and what light they’re getting
Thank you! It’s from Growtek
Your anthurium are gorgeous 💚
Thank you Natasha. Right back at you ;)

@@nxcplants great. I should be able to repot now then. They keep pushing new leaves. Do you wait for a particular moment before repotting: eg when a new leaf just starts emerging?
Usually once the emergent is full size right before the next leaf starts
@@nxcplants thanks Nick 🙏❤️
Just one question: isn’t the co2 taken in by the (stomata of the) leaves? Loved the video 😊
Do you ever get issues damaging roots when you change pots too late and the roots grow out the holes/slits? How do you combat that?
I haven’t really had an issue with that. If the plant is so rooted that it would be a problem, I don’t mind pruning roots/propping
If curious if there is a reason for why are using a pon-mix instead of pure LECA? Also would like to know the reason for the wick instead of a reservoir at the bottom. Great content :3
My pon mix sits a lot wetter which I find beneficial for growing anthurium. The reservoir keeps everything consistent and makes watering very easy

Interior measurement of 10inches exterior measurement of 12 inches

I usually keep them in the prop box till they start looking nutrient deficient

Thanks. I haven’t had that issue with it at this ratio.
@@nxcplants Thank you! I will experiment with that!
How high does the wick need to go into the pot in order for the roots to get water?
I rest in the substrate above a layer of leca roughly 2-3 balls deep for the larger pots. For the small ones I do 1-2 balls deep

Hey! I have a separate video on how I keep/do props. Also there’s the repot the roto where I show how I do it.
Thank you very much. How come I didn't know! 🙏🏻
Do you reccommend higher light for darker foliage? Apologies if u mentioned and i missed it
You’re gonna hate this answer... I find it depends on the species
Haha. Well for example, i bought a Luxurians x (crystallinum x magnificum) seller has a mature one its daaaaark and mine isnt LOL. Same answer??
I keep mine 8-10 inches from a barina t5 10w. Mine didn’t color up till like the fifth or sixth leaf.
Ok!!! Thank u! New subbie 💚
What is that plant in the very top left - the full circle with dark veining?
The plant furthest to the left on the white cabinet is a Dark Phoenix!

Let me collect all these beautiful plants. Then put them in a tent in my house so I all I see is the tent?
