My house kills plants. I don't know why or how. I just started growing some veggies hydroponically and they're doing well but my entire collection of house plants died shortly after moving to this house. I saved a few by bringing them to my office but it was hard to see them die off after having them for many, many years.

My prayer plants grew well but, kept getting insects. I had a terrible time getting them out of the crevices. I don't get them any more.

Hi April. Don't throw in the towel on all prayer plants. Marantas are the easiest, I've found...no insect or humidity problems. Also the furry ones, like the Calathea Rufulibarba is pretty pest resistant thanks to its fuzzy leaves. Look for the textured, sturdy leaf varieties in the prayer plant family for the best success. Mine also thrive under side table lamps in the interior of my home, pushing new growth constantly.
