Wonderful tribute to Waymon. He was so nice to me. He got me in my first ever CAAS. We had met in Vernon, AL and he called me one day to invite me and he paid for my entry and a hotel stay for a few nights. He also invited me to stay at his house for his annual Christmas pickin party and it was a blast. I moved to Nash in ‘09 and he was definitely a big supporter of mine and a blessing.
Thank you for another great Late Night Pickin’ episode. That opening hymn was one of the hymns we requested at my dad’s funeral service this past December 19 2021. It was also one of my mom’s favourite hymns. Thanks again for sharing your blessed talent with us.
I'll never forget when Waymon brought his very expensive Gibson CG reissue to CAAS. The look on his face when Tommy E bent the neck was priceless! Waymon was one of a kind and one of the nicest people I ever met.
A fine tribute for your late friend. My condolences to you and his family and all friends of his. You sang very well and played like you usually do - outstandingly. Thanks for all and again my sympathies.
