There is no such animal as "the best". There are far too many variables and styles to make that distinction. He's very good, and there are quite a few who are. My favorites are ever evolving.

I'm a Vietnam veteran also and have suffered with PTSD. When things get rough my wife plays her instrument and sings to me.. and that's better than any pill! When she is performing somewhere and I have to deal with it myself I saddle my horse and go for a ride. I understand what you are dealing with brother.🐕🦺🇺🇲

I saw Doyle several times at Melody Music in Sterling, Va. Besides his phenomenal talent, he is first and foremost a man of GOD. Always mentions GOD when he performs
I saw him there as well. He was so humble and personable. They were talking about that Liberty Tree model the time I saw him there.
I could take that $18,000 Olsen and it would sound like a Baby Taylor. In Doyle’s hands, it’s a masterpiece being played by a true Master. What an amazing person and guitarist he is.
I agree totally; playing music is a healing activity. Playing my guitar and making music always makes me feel good. I did notice that Doyle is not playing the willow creek guitar. It is an Olson, who made the guitars for James Taylor. Very expensive!

Had the chance to meet and speak with him briefly years ago now.
I think I may have accidentally *inadvertently insulted him that resulted in me adding to my list of guitar heros as it was just prior to him putting on a clinic and I asked him about alot of hot rod guitarist.
Needless to say, he proceeded to promptly include his name onto my list ! It was great !!

I love the song and Doyle is so nice to listen to. He plays every picking style around. But, the song "God Bless America" concerns me. How can God bless America? We are a sinful prideful and tolerant nation. We need to turn from our evil wicked ways.....as a nation I speak. Individually, there are Christians praying and worshipping God, reading the Bible and living the Word out. May the Lord continue to be merciful to us and may the Lord bless Doyle for what he is doing for veterans. We appreciate you Doyle!
