Thanks for posting Richard’s concert. I’m looking forward to a fantastic experience when Richard performs in Berkeley in a few weeks. He’s simply an awesome artist.
It is such a pleasure to see this man play guitar, thank you for sharing that incredible skill you have. And House Concerts for putting this up for us to see!!!
Excellent. Playing along here, and I remembered an arrangement of "Here, There, and Everywhere" that I came up with a long time ago, when Richard played the tune; also in A Major, so I was able to play it with Richard. Like a long distance duo!
What a treat, an unbelievable player but what a choice of tunes as well - keeps the standards standards. An inspiration since I used to attend his trio concerts in the uk during the 90s.
Yes individually and together. I’ve seen Tommy many times and had a pint with him once at Kirkmichael guitar festival in Scotland. He’s a straight up guy. Great fun.
Richard Smith is undoubtly the best on the guitar in the world at this time today April 25th 2024. Plays the hardest parts techinal like they are second nature to him and childs play. Been playing guitar for 60 years and I know what Im talking about, and this is the real gut core guitar player who can do absolutely everything and show so called experts how to play the damn thing the right way! Plays Reed style better than Reed could play it!
Frank/Sylvia, Kristopher Swenson here; I’m not sure? And, it was quite a few years ago! But was it you townhouse that I did painting and miscellaneous stuff like that,”hang a headboard on the wall for you? And at that time you’re having musicians over for small groups of people to be entertained. Correct!??! To have Richard Smith,?, what a privilege and honor!!! If the above part of my question/ statement is not you folk, my apologies!! Sincerely, Kristopher D. Swenson 🎸🎵guitarist in the Scott Day Band
It's the curse of piezo quack! Not as intrusive as some I've heard, so I suspect there's already an internal mic. I much prefer soundhole magnetic pickups for acoustic guitars, but of course this one's got nylon strings so that wouldn't work.
Hey for starters you are brilliant and your playing is beautiful, fantastic feel, and for the sound of the guitar it could not be better in the acoustic, for the mixing of the guitar the natural raw sound is sooooooo much better than more effects etc put to it. This sound would also be great for gypsy jazz. So professional played with passion. Cheers. Lugero.🎸👏🎸👏🎸👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
brilliant, more entertaining than Tommy E. however, two things that irritate me at a concert like this is, 1, people whistling along, 2, people clapping along
There’s only two ways of playing: fingered or with a pick. He’s got a pick on the thumb of his right hand. The complexity of the music needs to be played “fingered” to play all the notes with syncopation and sequence required by the this genre of music
Nice to see Richard looking healthy!
Amazing!!!!!!!!!
You man less fat?
I saw Richard open for Tommy Emmanuel . He is truely a talented and gifted guitarist ! A must see !
Thanks for posting Richard’s concert. I’m looking forward to a fantastic experience when Richard performs in Berkeley in a few weeks. He’s simply an awesome artist.

Saw him as part of The Atlantic Trio last autumn. Brilliant. Got to talk to Richard too - lovely man.

Medicine helps but this music gives you hope and keeps you alive . Thank you Sir Richard deeply from my heart 🙏🏼💛
Maestro Richard Smith, the awesome virtuoso of the guitar. You owe it to yourself to make it to at least one of his concerts.
Greets from Bavaria ! Richard , you did it and you do it!!! Super good as we know you.
It is such a pleasure to see this man play guitar, thank you for sharing that incredible skill you have. And House Concerts for putting this up for us to see!!!
I just saw his show near Atlanta. Not many guitarists are in his class.
Loved every minute.🎶🥰🎶🥰🎶🥰

You look great Richard, well done mate. Terrific concert, wish I had been there.
Fantastic! That closing tune had me marching in my easy-chair thank you !!
Yes individually and together. I’ve seen Tommy many times and had a pint with him once at Kirkmichael guitar festival in Scotland. He’s a straight up guy. Great fun.
Richard is one of very few who can give Tommy Emmanuel a run for his money.
nice comment aha
Nope
And when they play together 💥🎶🎉🤯
I prefer Richard.
Have you seen each of them “live” in person in concert.
Das ist *weltklasse* und gut für das Gemüt!
Richard, you’re the best in the whole universe
Amazing
Excellent
私はドクワトソンが好きです。彼の歌、ギタープレイを聴いていると影響を受けていると思います。ジャズの楽理も 取り入れ見事な演奏を聴かせてくれます。 拍手👏
He would make Chet proud.

You sure make it look easy! Great playing!
together with Michael Fix and Tommy Emmanuel you are the best on this globe!!!!!!!
The King of less is more.
Absolutely brilliant. I would love to hear you play live, do you have plans to tour the UK this year?
... quite a King on Nylon-String ... guitaaaahhhhhh! ... Cheers from Austria! ... HAPPY EASTER!🐣🌷🐰
Yup, Jerry Reed liked nylon string guitars too.
Richard Smith top guitarist
marvelous arrangement of Sukayiki. i'd have traveled from Buffalo NY to see this concert. Cool chord at the end!
Nice !
Complimenti dall'Italia
A Grand Master at work on Streets of Laredo. Takes your breath away!

Glad to hear Sukiyaki the song I heard when I was a teenager.
👏
Best ever buddy. Especially at 2:56.
The last time I felt like this lisrening to someone playing guitar was when I 1st heard Django Rheinhardt
🎶😎🎶
Outstanding!
Nearly two hours of barre chords... wow.
Good picker!
Hello folks! What kind of amp hi's using?
Very nice sound and nice playing!
CGP along with Doyle Dykes

Guys, what is the name of the tune at 3:50? Pls help! Performance is brilliant, I can’t help but sing the melody from this one
Eleanor Rigby
Can someone tell me the name of the tune starting at 14:33? Thanks for help
Georgy Girl
Anyone knows what instrument sir Richard plays here?
Kirk sand
1:12:53 mostly Mozart ❤
That sure is a sweet sounding guitar, but it would just be a silent ornament without Richard to bring out its magic.
Er what?
What guitar is he playing? Anyone knows?
He plays a signature instrument made by luthier Kirk Sand from Laguna Beach, California. The Richard Smith Model.
Гитара конечно - супер!
I think this guitar would benefit from an internal mic mixed properly. The playing is always great though.
It has an internal transducer of some sort. It would be better miked externally.

Good but Doyle Dykes is the man at the top of the tree!

To your simple taste maybe..
テネシーワルツを茶化してませんでしたか?
技巧は素晴らしいですが
私は愛を感じませんでした
最初の、スキヤキは良かったですね
とにかく
技巧に走ると
碌なことはありません
辛口でしたね…(笑)

Fantastic, but finger picking makes everything kind of mechanical
