Following a morning in Lauterbrunnen visiting Staubbach and Trümmelbach Falls, we had a spot of lunch and headed to Mürren. This incredibly peaceful village is not on the valley floor but is above the cliffs instead (and is on the whole, car free).
Initially we were going to get the cable car from Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp and then the train to Mürren but the cable car was closed for maintenance for a week. As such, we drove the 5.2km down the valley from Lauterbrunnen to Stechelberg to get the cable car from there - in fact this cable is more spectacular as it travels close to the cliffs and waterfalls. You have to change in Gimmelwald and get another cable car up to Mürren - you can also continue the journey higher up to Schilthorn but we didn't have time.
As mentioned in the previous video, I was unaware that Lauterbrunnen was a world famous location for base jumping. When we arrived in Stechelberg I looked up to see someone in a wing suit which was incredible, I had never seen someone doing that! Annoyingly I didn't get any footage though.
The cable car up to Mürren was well worth the 22 Swiss francs ($24 USD) and it gave you incredible views of the valley.
Mürren itself was a real surprise. You are surrounded by mountains and have a great view of the Eiger mountain and its infamous North face. There is also some tennis courts which must have the best view out of all the tennis courts in the world! On the Eiger side of the valley you also have the Jungfrau mountain and the famous Jungfraujoch train station which is the highest in Europe. However, it can cost upwards of $200 USD and close to $300 USD in high season for a return train journey.......so we skipped that.
It was a great end to an incredible day travelling and exploring Lauterbrunnen and the surrounding villages. If you are in Switzerland (or are Swiss!) and have never visited Lauterbrunnen, you really must go. There are lots of things to do: hiking, via ferrata (walking along the cliffs via pegs hammered into the side - only in the Summer), paragliding, BASE jumping and more.

    1:30 - Lauterbrunnen to Mürren
1:52 - Stechelberg cable car to Gimmelwald and Mürren
    4:49 - Walking around Mürren

    9:03 - Review of Lauterbrunnen

Great video. Been to this region several times. When God made earth, he finished with the Jungfrau Region and said-can’t do better than this-final cut-it’s a wrap. Magical place!!

@Micahel Mack - haha well I haven't yet been to Yosemite or the Himalayas but the Jungfrau Region is spectacular. Would love to go back and explore it more, maybe go to the base of the Eiger to see the North Face as well.

@Henry Steppel it's only a 5 hour drive from Munich to Lauterbrunnen. You could make a long weekend of it and see loads of stuff in the area! Do it!
Also look up Via Ferrata in Mürren, it wasn't open when we were there buy I believe it's open now. Looks incredible and something I may have to head back to do.

@REBEKAH LOW - thanks, it's a pretty wonderful place. It's a shame that the Swiss tend to turn their noses up at it saying "oh we leave Lauterbrunnen to the tourists"....but they've never been there. It's popular for a reason!

@@WiththeSparrows when you wanna see the base jumpers jump you should have done the Via Ferrata between Mürren and Gimmelwald where the base jumpers have their jumping base.

Such a beautiful view. I am going there in 2 weeks, so excited. your video has been helpful for my switzerland planning. May I know if the $24 dollars to Murren is a single trip or inclusive of the return trip too plz???

@sanya2394 - I believe it was for a return, though the train you can take up from Lauterbrunnen is about the same (return) - I did it last month

@Amber Kirk - you won't regret it. The Swiss tend to say 'oh well we leave Lauterbrunnen to the tourists', but they've never been. There's a reason why it's popular!!

So beautiful man. What month was this footage shot in and what camera do you use? Looks very crisp!

@Henry Nguyen - I believe that was May last year. Umm, the drone is a Mavic mini 2, the stuff where I'm talking is a GoPro 9 with a media mod and then the wider shots (that use a zoom) is a Sony RX10 IV.
