I will be in Switzerland later this week for two weeks for work. I have been going for 22 years but this is the first time I have the chance to spend the weekend in Lauterbrunnen. We hope the weather is good enough to take the trip up the Schilthorn.
i was on hoilday in Switzerland after the start of february this year 2024 and we went during the ski season where there was lots and lots of snow and i went on this very cable car from Murren to Birg unfortunately the cable car to piz Gloria was not running due to really strong winds.
I was there about 20 years ago, before the “Bond” experience. We were entertained by a visiting Tyrolean singing group all the way to the top. One of the best experiences of my life.
Great, very good explanation for getting from Stechelberg to the Schilthorn with the aerial cableway, a lot of love and work went into this video. Greetings from the black forest in Germany and Like 1074! ;-))
40 years ago I ran all the way from the schilthorn all the way back down to the Breithorn campsite which is near the cable car lift legs were sore for days ,thanks for the memory’s in case you did not know the bond people gave the the money to finish Piz Gloria on the condition they got the use of it to film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service

I washere in 1996 on a school tour....I thought there was a rachet railway in one section ? maybe I am mistaken.
I am going there in December and just realised the bloody lift is closed. So frustrating

You can stop for as long as you want, then continue up when you are ready.

This is a different and direct cable car which connects Stechelberg with Mürren without changing in Gimmelwald.
