I've got the same problem although the fuse pullout won't open it either. Is there anything you suggest doing?

Hi, this hasn't worked. I have a 2007 997 Turbo. Battery is completely dead, nothing at all. I've definitely got power to the car using the method recommeded, but neither key fob or car switch work. Any suggestions from anyone? (will this work if the battery is for some reason useless? - I'm not a mechanic so clucthing a little here). You mention trickle charge? Should i leave it for a few hours on trickly charge? (other videos seem to suggest it will work immediately?) Thanks, david

A modern designed 'Smart' charger will not work since the battery is completely dead. The 'Smart' charger has a built in diagnostic and is expecting 'see' a battery with maybe 9 vdc output or thereabouts. The Smart charger will likely give a Fault code if it sees anything less. In order to pop the front trunk opening for access to the battery you need to substitute a charged 12 vdc lawn mower battery (or equivalent) in place of the Smart charger. You can use regular jumper cables between the 12 vdc source and the Porsche fuse block area Red connection point. Even after you gain access to the car battery .........the Smart charger still won't charge your battery if it's complete dead. An old charger that is not 'Smart' must be used.
