    I really appreciate the video and the insight

    Okay we need a bake off with all your micro 9’s. Mako wins this let’s see the mako vs the S&W shield plus and then the csx?

  • @FernandoChaves

    It's not just the weight, it's how crisp and smooth it is. Same as the BB Techs BB6. That bit at the end of the dingus and trigger helps keep your finger consistently at the same spot too, which improves consistency. Short take-up, clean break, clean short reset. I have not found one better than the Mako out of the box and even the best upgrades are only maybe equal. Maybe. There is acceptable, good, great, and phenomenal....the Mako trigger is phenomenal by design. If you want a better trigger you have to go old school DA/SA "wonder nine" or fine tuned competition pistols. That's what I think anyway...and I could be wrong...just ask my wife....

    • @LWRoad
      @LWRoad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Haha, ask my wife too! Nope I agree with your synopsis, I shoot the Mako better than any. of the other Micro 9's...and I believe it's the trigger. The ergonomics aren't even close to as good as some of the other offerings, but that trigger...

    Thank you sir. I showed this to my wife this morning. She let me know that she is concerned that the P365XL is going to be a bit bigger & heavier than she wants to carry. We are a bit older now & she is more sensitive to weight & size than years past.

    I was looking for a new pistol with a reddot installed and was on the fence about buying the Kimber R7 Mako at my local gun store then I dry fired this weapon and I was like I'll Take it...WOW I love a light trigger on a weapon.

  • @theoretex

    I like that the Mako has no slack in the take up and hits that wall immediately. As long as you're cognizant of that fact it will prevent any extra shots going off while shooting (like it "did" for my instructor 😆).
    Thank you for this video because I was pairing my Mako to the photo of the CR920 on the back of my USCCA magazine and wanted to see a comparison vid. Spot on!

    • @froglaps40
      @froglaps40 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      i think it looks better than seeing the sunset between the slide the frame on the cr920. It also allows a red dot to sit lower to be able to co witness with the sights.

  • @TarynnElizabeth619
    @TarynnElizabeth619 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Looks to me like that entire CR 920 is nowhere near the same ballpark as the Kimber. That slide looks horrible. I’ve never seen another semi automatic handgun that has space between the slide and the frame.

  • @-_-_-_-318
    @-_-_-_-318 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Wow, there are a lot of glock bootlickers here in the comments. Both firearms have their perks and flaws. No one is "way better!" I saw some fool equating Kimber to Highpoint, you guys need to check your mental health status, seriously. Lol

  • @charles17508
    @charles17508 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    lol the shadow is clear winner you can adjust triggers but you can't really adjust how It looks and the features like frame acelarator cuts or how the cr has f4ont serrations literally the kimber I wouldn't pay over 300 for it and we all know what people l e pay on the shadow systems. the kimber competitors are high point and ruger maybe Springfield to but no comparison to glocks or sigs and definitely not shadow systems.

  • @Joe.dirt7909
    @Joe.dirt7909 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I would say the only advantage the CR920 has….you can use 43XMOS holsters.

    • @jacobcoley8054
      @jacobcoley8054 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the holster options for R7 Mako aren't on par with glock holsters but luckily vedder light tuck is an option for the kimber and I like the light tuck.

    • @LWRoad

      @@jvz1448 I'd say yes but I'm not sure how much the engineering/R&D/machinging costs involved were. Maybe someone with an insider perspective can enlighten us.

    • @ratagris21
      @ratagris21 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sig like everyone else is going to over charge you for the "upgraded, " or "performance" model. Just an average of $400- $700 for R&D and cost add ons.

    • @jvz1448
      @jvz1448 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ratagris21 the comp is arguably a pretty big upgrade but even then, and I know it’s a different design but the Hellcat RDP with red dot comes in at around $900. If Sig could have come in at 800-900 they really would have changed the game. At 1200-1300 it’s in a territory where I don’t think they will have a lot of sales. Even the Spectre line in general. They look great but I don’t think they are flying off the shelf vs their regular line due to being like double the price for an upgraded look. And again I’m a Sig fan boy.

  • @CitationZac
    @CitationZac 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Cant say I understand the love for the kimber. I own both of these pistols and the kimber is not close to the quality of the shadow systems. Kimber is not the company it started out as. I have had several of their pistols in the last few years and I’ve been disappointed with all but one of them. My CR920 has proven to be so much more reliable and accurate. The trigger on the 920 did get better for me as I got more rounds through it. The Kimber has a better trigger and that is the only thing I like about it. Not enough reason for me to buy one.

    • @LWRoad

  • @gloriamaletta8667
    @gloriamaletta8667 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Seems like the CR920 trigger is pretty much like a slightly better Glock trigger the Kimber has little takeup in comparison to the CR920 and the reset is about half the distance of the CR920 and the R7 is about a full pound lighter in trigger pull weight l ordered a Kimber R7 friday night from Rural King because it was 429 dollars a 100 dollars off the 529 price don't think your getting a CR920 for 471 dollars out the door price

      I haven’t had a single issue at all. Keep your thumbs along the defined edge against the texture. I’ve slow fired and done some draw shooting quickly and haven’t ever blocked the ejection port. Love the R7 Mako. I handled all the big sellers: shield plus, p365, hellcat and Glock 43x. The mako easily won. The ergos are perfect for me!
