Hi i also own a Kimber R7 Mako range pkg like you have..I have been very pleased with everything about this pistol..To me the trigger is amazing for such a small firearm, Kimber knocked it out of the park and its very reliable and the range kit with the holster and the bag and 5 mags is an excellent value that more people should consider..Thanks to both of you for the good review and have a great weekend and stay Safe..

I've passed up this Kimber for other micro compacts including the new FN Reflex. Please review the Reflex soon. Great channel, been watching for a couple years.

@Dogglegg Because it's an ambi-release, you have to make sure it's a solid click when inserting the mag. You will see the release perfectly go to center when the mag is inserted correctly. It will then eject perfectly. It's more finicky because it's ambi, but it's easy to master.

Good review. I've been curious about this pistol since the initial advertisements I saw when it was announced by Kimber, but it kind of disappeared for a while, didn't know about the recall either. Nice to see Tia back with you for a second opinion on the reviews.

They have 15rd extended mags now. Maybe that can help with the grip. Love my mako as it's the best out of the box pistol I have!

I have to agree about the trigger. I also have a Walther PDP and CZ-P10F and they both have a clear wall. The Mako is definitely better when you just pull through.

I have had my Mako R7 for a year now. I did get the package deal and it did come with the red dot. I put 800 rounds in mine and no issues but it doesn't like ballistics ammo. I usually only use PMC fmj 115 grain copper. Thanks.

Owned and sold. It has its pros, but the little things kept me from keeping. Mags didnt drop free, thinness of trigger blade pinched my finger, recoil impulse was odd. Though all subjective, I preferred pps m2. She has not been replaced.

You might reconsider if you look up the Abuse test of the Mako, Mud,Water,Sand and it worked FLAWLESSLY. The Glock 43 it was compared to failed to cycle in every test. look up batala de Titanes kimber. It is in Spanish but that does not matter.

Your kidding me this kind of accuracy from a small gun l think is very very good and it ran everything reliably l think its a awsome sized carry gun for concealed carry l really like the sights and think the trigger is pretty dam good vs the competition but that is my opinion if the trigger is sneaking up on you means the trigger on your other guns do not have as good of a trigger l think the trigger is very very good vs other small guns it has a fairly short amount of take up l like it reset is short perfect no very very good yes

I like my 3-year-old Mako (ser # 00xxx) for the light, crisp trigger, ergonomics, and closed-top slide that keeps debris off the CT1500 optic. But I hesitate to carry it. Most folks wouldn't carry a cocked revolver and the Mako is a 100% cocked pistol with a light trigger - and no manual safety - just like a cocked revolver.

I had not shot a gun in years and i was hitting 1" bulls eyes at 17 yards and 6 inch groups at 25. Granted i already installed a Holoson EPS Carry on it, took me no time at all to sight it in. Your female shooter was not jumping because of the recoil, she was surprised about the trigger lol. After about 10 mags you get used to it. The funny thing is that i used a gun tripod brace to sight it in, After i finished i then started to stand and shoot and to my surprise i was shooting much better without the brace.... LOL
Years ago i owned a S&W .40 shorty that was so unreliable, kicked like a mule and i couldn't shoot it for shit, This Kimber Mako is a VERY HAPPY purchase. Get that EPS Carry Green dot :-D, FYI it comes with the Adapter plate you need so you dont need to buy a aftermarket one. The open emitter models do not come with the adapter or the correct screw sizes.
FYI its tricky to get that 13th round in but once you do it then it will become easier. I struggled the first 2 or 3 times i did it and then the 4th time it stopped fighting me.

The Kimber Mako 7 is like the Mossberg handguns. They're great handguns but they just don't seem to get the love that the other compact and micro compact handguns are getting. Not sure if it's the name recognition (Mossberg does shotguns and Kimber does 1911's) or what.

    • @GBGuns

@@GBGuns I got a slightly scoured up mag in my bundle, the 10 round they used to test fire with. They replaced it with a 13 round mag no hassle at all and i did not need to send the 10 round mag back even though i probably will never use it in the condition its in unless i sand it smooth.

You assessment of the trigger on your version is interesting. I own a version of this gun and know others that also do. Ours have a clean and short take up, firm wall, crisp break, and a strong positive reset. Not sure if they have changed the trigger or you got a bad version.

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I like a 4 pounds 10 ounces to 5 pounds 6 ounces on a carry gun with short take up and reset not real light under 4 and a half pounds and 4 pounds 10 ounches to 6 pounds perferably a half a pound under 6 is a good stock trigger in my opinion not crazy for 6.5 pound and up pistol triggers with long take up and reset quite a few new striker fired handguns are 6.5 or more what do l know l think the Arex Delta gen2 has a pretty good trigger vs many other manufactures handgun options costing more

I just did pick up the Kimber range pack one 11 round magazine four 13 round magazines. The weird thing every magazine is stamped 10 rounds. The flush mag holds 11 the extended one holds 13. But yes, they are all stamped 10 rounds only have witness holes for 10 rounds. Weird.

The R7 MAKO for a striker fired small compact or big micro compact l think has a wonderful trigger but l only put hundred rounds through it only had it 6 weeks its pretty accurate to 20 yards and really accurate 15 yards or less for a gun of this size it can keep up with most 9mm 4 inch models while being small without being to small it conceals very well in shorts and a tee shirt with a good holster and be comfortable doing so got it for 429 dollar at rural king 471 out the door had two SIG P365s so sold one to get the R7 Mako so far l love it with the Stoeger STR9mc gen2 it rocks to really good if on a buget 352 dollars out the door it has 350 flawless rounds through it it to has a really good factory trigger to me and for what your getting its hard to beat it feels very solid had it 10 weeks
