the "i am the mountain that people need to climb" quote really made me dislike him as a character. Soon after season one people climbed this so called mountain. And there were a lot of talented people, with better attitudes and were more entertaining to watch. Also i find it weird that this video is about "the best rocket league player ever" and people like GarettG, Kaydop, Scrub and Fairy peak are not even mentioned. Garett won every a title every year he attended except one where he placed 2nd place. The others i mentioned achieved much more on the highest level than Kronovi ever did. So in my honest opinion Kronovi is not even close to being the best RL player of all time. Even in season 2 there were some far greater than him

This is kind of wrong, because in RLCS 1, Kronovi's team was actually considered to be an underdog. At this point Kuxir's Team Flipsid3 Tactics was considered to be the best team in the world, and Kuxir the best player.
The video is really good, but it feels like it's overly portraying Kronovi as the undisputed best, when him and Kuxir were always very much equals. You can make an argument for Kronovi being the best, but not while leaving Kux out of the picture like this.

To Kronovi's defence, no other esport is as unforgiving as this one. Top pro players last no more than two or three seasons in this game. It's much different compared to many other esports were there's 27-28 yo players still dominating after years of them playing.

Which is what makes Squishy the GOAT for me, nobody else has been that relevant. I think the skill ceiling always raises in every game. The absolutely best e-sports players in their genre, Faker, Viper and Flash/Jaedong etc would at their peak lose in direct comparison to the best current players, but that doesn't damper their absolute dominating rule of their time.

I think this video is great in many ways, especially the pacing and editing. I do have some narrative issues, though, mainly that I think Kronovi's relative skill even in the early days seems overblown. No mention at all of Kuxir from those pre-RLCS days. I think it is disingenuous to say Kro was by far best player in the world back the; certainly in NA, but not the world. Also, no mention of Lachinio or Gambit when talking about league play of S1, though this is a minor grievance. Kro is certainly deserving of a video chronicling his career, but I think to say he was the best in the world for any period of time beyond the weekend of S1 Worlds is unfair to pretty much the whole EU scene pre RLCS. And I say all this as an NA resident. In any case, thank you for making this video and helping us relive some old memories. I hope that going forward you might take a more balanced approach when doing historical pieces so that context can be properly laid for those that may not have been around to experience these events as they unfolded.

I do and will always enjoy watching and support Kronovi. He’s had a tough time, he still has lots he needs to work on as a player. He’s tainted by success and failure in a unique way. I hope he will rise up again. I think he could if only he put in the time.

1:45 I loved that game. Me and my pals used to play it a ton over at a friend that had his own place while the rest of us lived at home still. Damn those was some good days.

Great video. I started in the PS4 beta in 2015. As a lot of people can probably relate to, I loved Rocket League almost immediately when I started, but it's so funny to go back and look at 2015 replays that I thought were good. Kro was the first dude I saw that made me grind the game and realize that it was a special esport. The mountain will always be the shit to me. A great video to check out on youtube is Summit1G reacting to a video of kronovi when he first started and just being in disbelief at what this dude was doing. We were flipping around on the ground and whiffing while Kro was fast aerialing and hitting double taps and upside down flicks and shit. He's still a beast, too. This game evolves quicker than almost any other esport Ive seen, so Jstn and Retals and wondamike and even prodigies like Aqua make it look easy these days, but Kro made it look impossible from day 1.
