Aidan Poops sounds great, great quality, you're hearing the drums mostly acoustic as the camera is behind the speakers, you're not hearing it mic'd like the crowd is.
Sort of. The drums are mic'd, so that's why it's more or less all you hear, but it's definitely quieter back there than it is sitting right in front of Dan Donegan.
He's surrounded by a wall of Plexiglas, so most of the sound is kept out of his little hut. Besides, he's listening on earphones, so it would probably just be a distraction to hear it from the speakers too.
He's using InEar headphone monitors, so there's no floor monitor pushing guitars, bass and vocals around and close to him, so all you hear from the camera point of view is drums...
My dad is a drummer he said that it's so loud that you cant hear the singing so you have to wear a headset that has the song playing even with a headset it's hard to hear the songs
He just plays the upbeats with his left foot on his double kick patterns. Pretty normal since you do that anyway playing right left right left on a double kick.
I have a weird technique but I think it would make you feel pain. My technique is just pivoting my foot and I don't even cramp up. If you saw me behind the kit, my legs would not be moving up and down, and I can nail sections that would require two pedals (5 bass notes in a row) with only one foot.
The Emerald Village they played at Red Hat in Raleigh and it was the best concert I've ever seen (and I've seen Iron Maiden), they need to come back soon.
This is the real sound of that drum set. Once each channel is adjusted, amplified and equalized... then you get the real deal! The ear monitor the drummer is using has the sound all equalized, together w/ the other instruments. I guess so!
