Jimmy Butler became Playoff Jimmy once again beating the Bucks to put the Heat up 3-1. He’s done this throughout his career but at the same time, team after team gave up on him. It all started with the Bulls and this is a look at their fatal mistake.

You do realize the bulls were going nowhere with Jimmy right, they loaded up year after year with what they could and could only muster barely making the playoffs year after year, with no way to actually get better, we had to rebuild, its the only logical thing to do unless you like losing first round ever year with no chance of winning anything.. He had wade, rondo, there quote on quote big 3, didnt work... The bulls won by a mile obviously in the trade, value wise looking back and obviously now as Zach is still a Bulls and Jimmy lasted one year with the wolves until they had to trade him and his baggage.

🤦 I know this is kinda old, but he is most definitely NOT "just regular" during the regular season! Go look at his WS% aka Win Share Percentage numbers (aka how much the team's win percentage ended up being due to just that one player's impact, but weighted against how good the team ended up being overall) over the past couple of years and you'll have your eyes properly opened.
Yes, he definitely turns his games up a major level in the playoffs but he is most definitely NOT just an average scrub during the regular season! He is still very much elite, just not quite as much. 🤷

Of the 3 teams that gave up on Jimmy Chicago is definitely the worst because he was really starting to hit a new level in 2017 and despite some misgivings he had about the coach and some players he loved Chicago and wanted to stay there and win for the city. I mean even now when he goes to play there he talks about his love for the city. If they would've built around him properly he would've made some great playoff runs with him; imstead they have only been to the playoffs once while he hasn't missed the playoffs since.

@@ii-kingfancy-ll3915 I would say it was more 76ers choosing Ben over Jimmy, Jimmy hinted he wasn't happy about Ben's work ethic but he would like to play with Embid. 76ers knew it wasn't possible to keep both Ben and Jimmy, so they choose Ben for the future. At that time, It wasn't that bad because Ben felt promising he just needed some work on shooting. I don't think anyone would had expect how bad Ben turned out to be.

@@MrBronx61... 🤦 Except you know, literally ALL of his Heat teammates past & present, the prior 76ers & Bulls teammates that actually gave a flying shit about basketball & self-improvement (like Joel), and even the coaches that could actually see reality like Spo & Thibs universally fucking LOVED/LOVE Jimmy Butler and say he's an absolutely FANTASTIC teammate and player to have on your team!!!
It's only the lazy ass players not willing to actually put in the actual work like KAT (still being bailed out by Ant's utterly unbelivable wizardry) or the ignorant front offices that never actually interacted with him who actually think he's some kind of locker room toxic, hard to work with primadonna player. 🤷 Intead of the INSANELY commited but legitimately great & caring teammate that he actually is when his coach & fellow teammates ALSO ACTUALLY COMMIT/GIVE A SHIT!!!

I never understood the narrative of Jimmy being a toxic presence in the locker room. Draymond punches a teammate and I hardly hear about it now, Jimmy calls out KAT and wiggins for being soft and not taking the game seriously and he's the problem? When did we normalize being so damn soft in a man's league? I'm not talking about mental health like with K love or Demar Derozan, I mean straight up going home and playing video games instead of taking the extra reps to go from an all star to a hall of famer. KAT by all definitions is a bust of a pick given what his projected ceiling was and what he's made of it. But Jimmy gets heat for checking egotistical players who haven't proven anything (like Ben Simmons) out? Even when he's RIGHT? It blows my mind man, imagine you had someone like Jimmy on the T Wolves mentoring a player like Ant or on the Mavs mentoring Luka, guys who clearly take the game seriously. I would be willing to bet that Luka would show up more in shape to start the season if he had a vet like that challenging him and holding him accountable. You NEED guys like Jimmy in a locker room not bums like Dillon Brooks

0:18, just to be clear: while there aren't many teams up there with the Bulls in terms of failing at building up a team up over multiple years, nobody thought Jimmy was good enough to have a team built around him as the #1 option. Besides, he was never going to be ok with how management ran that team (into the ground). And whether Jimmy is capable of LEADING a team to ultimate success or not, still remains to be seen. I don't think he has a lot of time left though, given his age. You would probably have to put a superstar caliber player next to him, that could consistently open the floor due to being a reliable 3pt shot-creator. Only player that (theoretically) comes to mind, one that would check all the boxes and would be semi-available, is Dame.

Lol he took an 8th seed to the fucking Finals + even won a game off Joker + Murray, and if he'd have had Tyler Herro back by that series there's a good chance he/they would of even fucking won! 😳🤯 Jimmy can most DEFINITELY be the #1 option on a championship winning team, and that's not even a fucking argument at this point!... The real problem here is that he only has another ≈3-4 more years or so of legitimate contention window left in him thanks to that POS damn bastard that is Father Time, even with his famously insane conditioning. 🤷

I didn't even know about that missed call from the refs during the Cavs series in 2015. Now I'm even more angry that the Bulls core I grew up with didn't win it all. 😡

You don't see Jimmy quite a lot in regular season. He doesn't care about stats. He cares about winning. He will call out his teammates, his coaches, the front office if they get a losing streak but he's doing it because he wants to win. But once his team made it to the playoffs, that's where you can see the true Jimmy Buckets. A player who will do anything, will give everything, will play every minutes if he's allowed, just to win.

Jimmy Butler got one of the top attitude and work ethic in the league, it is essential to point out what's wrong in the team, and this probably ignite some of the back office political ego of the management of his previous teams. Turn out he is right and good that Pat Riley believe in him (except for his hairstyle before this season start 😂), but Heat need to build a solid team around him, Lowry is getting old and inconsistent, Adebayo lack of determination, they will need someone to offload the work from Jimmy otherwise it is really hard to get in the Finals.
