Update for this case. Today 23rd July 2024 the 6 person were sentenced to death penalty by hanging after the victim family apeal to Appelete Court. The court revised the punihment and decided to change to death penalty.
@@harryjohn7876"school" is a common term for tertiary education place, it's common in the Europe. For example London Business School. edit: I know this is in Malaysia but it's not entirely wrong when someone refer the UPNM as military school because the university education literally focuses on military subjects
@@Iselsabella nah military cant do that in a country with a strong monarch....just like in England our military are actually swore their allegiance to the KING and not the government. If any military generals try to do anything stupid the King will act. Our number one in command of the army are the King not Prime minister.
I still mad whenever i hear or read abt this case. How can someone who supposed to protect the country do this to one of their own? Can’t imagine how the victim’s family felt
They did it to Lavena Johnson from the US military, her attackers have not been punished as it was ruled a "suicide". I was in the military and not all the people are good unfortunately
To this day this case traumatises me, where is the warden in charge? the system fails him, and why did other platoon mates not report? , how come nobody realised he was missing for a long period? Is there any rich kid inside the military that nobody can touch? did someone receive hush money so the rich kid could bully anyone, why did the clinic fail to recognise his severe injury?, there are so many questions left unanswered and bullying cases inside the military in Malaysia are normal, most of the victims never get justice.
UPNM is a military university run by the Ministry of Defense. When it comes to the military, it is hard for them to ask for apology as it can lower their standard and prestige.
I once put my hand on one as a child and it sort of flattened my thumbprints on that specific hand years later 😭 I'm horrified to imagine how badly wounded his entire body was yet the doctor had the heart to just excused it as military training and didn't call the hospital van directly, how vile and disgusting
Because they keep appealing and the perpetrators family has money to appeal. As long as you have money to appeal the case will go on but with enough evidence to incriminate the perpetrators even you have money, the judge will not continue your appeal.
@@surainihashimwhat are you trying to say? Tak tau jgn buat2 tau. Ini kes jenayah the prosecution is done by the public prosecutor. Nak tuduh hakim ambik duit ke?

it was never a bullying incident. The laptop was missing for a few hours before one of their peers consulted his father who claims to have mystic powers on the incident. The father then contacted the person whose laptop was missing and then concluded that the victim was the perpetrator. The victim was woken up by the person and then taken to another room for interrogation. This should've been classified as an act of mob justice from the start, but the army and upnm have a reputation for encouraging bullying-like activities, which is the only reason why bullying was used to describe the situation.
the zulfarhan case is so high profile because it was so shocking.. and what p*sses ppl off was that some ppl claim it's normal to "play rough" in the military training.. excuse me? he died and you think it's just kids playing rough? also the doctor is so freaking stupid? how did he missed that? and considering the severity of his wounds let him go back without hospitalization? idk man.. i smell something fishy there.. p/s : if i'm not mistaken one of his bully claimed they knew it was zulfarhan who stole the laptop through "supernatural" method.. a bunch of bs tbh..
few days before he died, he called his mother, pretend like nothing happen and just talk with his mother through the phone, his mother ask him if he is alright, he said he is ok, but his mother knew something was not right from his voice and yes, few days after tht call, she received the news her son is dead, it was heartwrenching, mother's instinct never wrong😢
Yes, that's true...I once experienced something similar when my mom forbade me to meet a close friend of mine...I have promised to hang out with her with several people we know and turns out one of them stole the money from my friend's mom and the cash is quite large, fortunately, I followed my mom's advice to not hang out with them that day
There's a clip of these perpetrators smiling when they were first sentenced for 18 years imprisonment. THE AUDACITY TO SMILE AFTER YOU HAVE INFLICTED SUCH GREAT PAINS TO SOMEONE THAT LED TO THEIR DEATH????? I can never fathom how someone could be so cruel. I hope the death penalty wouldn't be changed whatsoever.
Sad fact : After Zulfarhan case like a year later another student from same university (yes a same university) died by getting bullied his name is Amirul and that case was remain silent until this day
A prominent lawyer recently offered to open the case again & represent the victim pro bono. He is just upset since those perpetrators could now be members of the military as adults now.
literally everyone failed him :/ i cant imagine how painful it must’ve been for him, how helpless he must’ve felt. And also for his parents.. knowing that ur son wanted to serve the country and be a better man, trusting that nothing despicable like this could’ve happened. He really looks like a sweet man :/ innalillahi wa'innailaihirojiun
Never thought people still believe in superstitious in this today's era..moreover in Muslim country..believe in superstitious is considered the biggest sin....in Islam...
Megan, I don't know if you heard but the verdict just came out earlier today, 6 of the 18 boys are sentenced to death via hanging, their initial sentencing were cancelled. Zulfarhan parents kneeled in gratitude after the verdict announcement outside court.
OMGI feel so sick! Doctors thought it was military training!!!! They should never have Doctor's Licenses again. An explosion, then the Military University must explain for those injuries, was there live firing? Was There a technical fault in equipment? The Doctors should have asked for reports. A Senior Officer should have taken charge!!! For goodness sake, if someone does not turn up for duty then a Senior Officer investigates. The Military University have a duty of care!! Disgusting. Such a beautiful young man, his smile infectious. I can't imagine his painful death.
i think this type of incidents are brushed off by some people as hazing because it's within the confines of military school, and the tradition of hazing goes way back so i can see why some people would be so callous to just not take it seriously at all.
Most of the culprits are the son of the high ranking officer in the army while the victim was the son of a lower officer. Just like you probably see in any movie/show, these idiots usually become big headed because of their father's authority and do as they please. I bet there are many bullying cases, but this one couldn't be swept under a rag since the victim died.
@@maggyfrog I don’t buy that. I am a Veteran my husband, father, father in law and both sides of our family served back to WW1. My sons serve. The eldest in the most elite Corps of UK Forces. Back in the day there was bullying and the Armed Forces cracked down on it. Bully and you are out in disgrace. The reason bullying exists is down to bad leadership. Turning a blind eye. All up the ranks they are held responsible and accountable. Their careers and pensions are at stake. There is anonymous help lines and a complaints procedure. I am disgusted that this young man, was not checked out by those who should have protected him. Bullying goes on? We face it in every walk of life. He deserved much better. Even the upper management simply chose to ignore the bully case. It showed that we can't 100% truly trust the upper management the way we think we could.
I was in Sg Buloh prison, Malaysia from 2020 till 2023 and i met the murderers of this guy several times and even went to court with them once and talked to them also. They have immunity and was able to walk freely around the prison. They are very close to most of the prison guards inside. They are free as of now, im not sure how but malaysian law is really bad.
I'm from Malaysia and I was in high school when this happen. This case enraged the entire country. They couldn't keep it under the rug. I thought Malaysia physical bullying was not that bad until this case was shown. Change my entire perspective about my country😢
The doctor, witnesses and the management should be charged for abetting the murder. I don't think the doctor didn't recognise the iron shaped burns as intentional burning, he just didn't care. The upper management forwarding the WhatsApp msg says a lot about the institute. The judiciary should give much more stricter punishment for bullying with intention to cause physical injuries seriously regardless of the perpetrators' age. And the students are responsibility of the institute when they stay and study there. So the institute also need to be held liable in such cases and strict action should be taken against this. Only then will schools and colleges do their best to prevent bullying.
To Zulfarhan Osman: You were bright and hopeful, and it is just upsetting that six of your dorm mates tortured you. May you and your parents seek justice against your torturers and killers. #stopbullying
it's the way the lawyer arguing that the boys deserved a second chance when they think and move like what murderers would do. Plus, all of them are full grown men and sane enough to know what they're doing. There's literally no reason at all for them to torture Zulfarhan for six days with the hot iron over a missing laptop. That damn laptop can be replace but a life isn't. They literally robbed the victim of a promising future 😢 still makes me livid to this day whenever i think of this case and the results from the court
That laptop was borrowed from the girlfriend that claimed about the lost laptop but in reality the gf borrowed it and forgot to give it back... Sooo fckkk. Uupp Also they're basing this missing laptop by a shamans claims that the guy stole it.. plus it's rumored that the shaman is just one of the bullies parent .... Sooooo stuuuuuupppeeeeddd !!
I will never understand these types of people u would think as SOLDIERS in training nowadays shouldn't abuse the power of their future jobs from history but no they deserve life in prison for this they saw him in distress n did nothing those boys should have never graduated or allowed to become soldiers for this crime 😢😢
As the years go on, I realise I cannot trust the military, anywhere. Because this isn't unique in the military, so many army men commit crimes on duty, then come home to abuse their families due to "stress". The Army in Malaysia needs to get it's shit together, and actively make sure they aren't letting monsters "protect" the country.
The parents named him Farhan as in Happiness after they're struggled to get a child. Imagine you as parents losing your only child knowing that both of you struggled to get a child. How can you not feel heartbroken knowing the struggle you faced in your life to experience on having a child.
Farhan has 3 other younger siblings, he’s not the only child. I get it that you wants to show support but spreading false rumours is just as bad as bullying.
@@VonEldrich Oh no, I never said that Zulfarhan is their only child. I'm saying to imagine if you lose your only child after years of struggling to have one.
Bullying is really the worst of the crimes , torturing and disrespecting another person just because you seek of some entertainment or some power from it is horrible , burning a kid with a freaking iron , resulting into his heinous death , their intentions were wrong from the beginning they just took up the false robbery accusation as a catalyst and had it work as a shield till they work off their sick desire , leaving 90% body of the victim suffer smaller or larger wounds and boils and burns . It's high time bullying is took notice of and children from a young age are taught of morals and values, and also to speak up against any injustice happening against them or somebody they are aware of , condolences to both the victims ❤
You know what worst? This bullying or ragging has been tought to these kid in most university so that “you can handle the bullies at work when you graduate”. Such bullshit ive been heard too many times.
UPNM is known for incidents of bullying and allegations of lecturers intentionally failing students. According to a former secondary schoolmate who attended, he mentioned concerns about women's safety at the university due to numerous reported cases. Considering its low ranking, it may be advisable to explore other universities in Malaysia, as there are several alternatives available.
Till this day, Zulfarhan's case has become one of the worst bullying case in Malaysia. I hope people realized how damaging bullying can be, be it physical or online. 😢
yes it true. We call it SUHAKAM and now they said this verdict is not right because the 6 murderers is young and they need second chance...human right only for their favourite 😅@@Demean7002
I was in the same batch with Zulfarhan in high school. We were never in the same class, and I never talked to him, but I always see him as a nice, quiet guy who will never try to be mean to others. We were in an all-boys school (MSAB) and most of the boys in his class were loud, but not him. Everyone seems to get along with him as well, and he always smile at others, even to those he doesn't know. I'm saying this because the excuse they used to beat him up is just that, an excuse. They went to see a bomoh (shaman) and completely believed the bomoh's accusation despite having no proof or witness to the theft. The bullying culture in Malaysia, also known as ragging, has been a practice done especially in a hostel life. Another student from UPNM was also accused in killing Zulfarhan but upon further investigation, it was found that he was innocent and framed because he was seen talking to Zulfarhan. He was released and stated that he want to continue his study again after been given the second chance. After the first court session gave them 18 years instead of death penalty, the 6 killers were seen smiling and laughing as they leave the court despite the crime they had committed, showing absolutely no remorse. Now that they are sentenced to death penalty, it is very satisfying to see their new reaction when leaving the court. In an interview with his parents, they stated that only one of the bullies' parents came to apologise to them for what their son had done. The other parents avoided seeing them and made it seems like Zulfarhan was the one in the wrong. I've followed this news since I first heard of it. I'm glad that the parents fought for justice, and the killers are sentenced to death. I talked about this case with my 2 other friends from MSAB and all of us are glad that the killers finally get their judgement.
It's a horrifying and tragic case indeed. We Malaysians really hope that Zulfarhan and his family can one day get the justice they so deserve. Bullying cases are really tough to curb if they go unreported until the last minute 😔 Thanks Megan for covering this case and may this help to curb bullying all around the world. #saynotobullying
I hate that in each picture their faces are covered, why do they get to cover their faces after killing an innocent kid? And the audacity they had to say they "cared for him" by sparing his face from their abuse 😡 They did that to hide what they were doing to him.😡 I'm so mad and I don't understand how a so called doctor would conclude that his burns were from training? Who gets steam iron burns from training? Someone burnt with an iron would have iron marks on their skin, the doctor was extremely dumb. He lived in a hostel, didn't anyone hear his screams while he was being tortured in his room? Why do people just stand by and watch another person suffer when they can do something about it? The other kid who got killed was beaten in a public place yet, people did nothing. "Evil thrives when good men do nothing."
It’s impossible to be a doctor and not know about iron burns. A doctor should have seen a lot of things throughout their career, it should’ve been easy to know what was going on. I guess the doctor just didn’t care, like everyone else in that dorm didn’t care.
What on earth did the doctor think that all of the bruises and burns is from military training?? Knock knock hello?? He doesnt know? Or just dont care? Why ddnt he report to the police? Its really not normal...jesus
I was about to update you with what happened today but saw someone has done it. I feel like we need to share the news of the justice has been upheld. Thank you for covering this case Megan.
I had a hot iron on my skin on accidentally let me tell IT HURT i was in pain like everyday it now a scar a big one on my leg (thigh) and THAT MANY BURNS? STRAIGHT TO THE DEATH SENTENCE!!!
I won't forget this girl.. Coco... Bullied by the class and she killed herself. I wish I could help but I was bullied by the same guy as well. I sympathize with all victims. Stand up and fight for your survival
This is too horrifying!!! Aren't they are the ones who might pledged to protect their own country one day. They can't even spare the victim how can they protect the country!!!!! 😔
It was a prestigious institution. Not everyone can study there. So, to some students, it's not about protecting anyone, but to gain a podium to show off to their relatives and neighbours. It's just a sick game that doesn't fit the image of a country protector. Some kids never really care about others... because they only want to have fun. Their parents are loaded, big salary, they had no worries of their future or their country. But, average low class people like me, nothing can be said to change anything. Money do the talking. Some higher institution are just not for any ordinary kids.
I don't know how is set up in other countries but usually at a college or University dorm, in the United States you have a resident advisor who is in charge one floor and then you have someone who is in charge of the entire dorm. They made sure everyone is okay and if they have issues, they would bring it to the resident advisor. Apparently this wasn't the set up at the Military school that Zulfarhan Osman attended. If I'm wrong, please correct me.
Hi from malaysia. As a mother this case give me a big concerned in my daughters school activities . May zulfarhan soul rest and may Allah grant him jannatul-firdaus and forgive his life sins. May Allah make his grave a place of comfort and light. Aminnnn 🤲🏽
As a victim of school bullying by teachers and students, I can only say that as a parent please pay attention for any red flags in her behavior at home that might indicate that she's being picked on at school but none of the staff are taking her seriously. Any small changes like taking longer to get ready or seem depressed all of a sudden might be hiding something. If possible try to have conversations asking about her day at school and if she brings up any situation she's in,please don't immediately blame her or brush it aside like my mother did when I brought up my situations. Also if she's showing signs of depression, please take her to a professional instead of trying to be her therapist(if you're not a certified therapist) because more often than not, it makes the feeling worse when a child feels like their parents don't take their mental health seriously. Usually when secondary school starts it becomes a serious concern with teens forming bully gangs or teachers being extra strict with them and give harsher punishment because they don't like something about them. If she's getting picked on a teacher that has kerja kursus that makes up a majority of the grade, please be extra alert especially if she's involved in any school teams and won't be in class for competition. My prinsip perakaunan teacher was exactly like that and every time before starting her class she must ejek me with a very sombong face. I was raised by a single mother divorced from negara Barat so she thinks kerajaan shouldn't have approved of my application for kewarganegaraan. My friend from a different class with her as the prinsip perakaunan teacher also told me that she cakap buruk about me in class with my name and class mentioned the entire time. She also didn't give me the materials of the kerja kursus that I didn't receive because I was at a volleyball competition in another school. Majority of the materials were purposely handed out that day and she won't give them to me because I "pergi main" and when I informed her that I was at a competition she give me a very annoyed face while saying "Yelah. Main lah tu pergi seronok dan lepak daripada duduk dlm kelas". I gagal prinsip perakaunan on my keputusan SPM and she only got transferred to a different school when I take the sijil keputusan the following year. Secondary school bullying is crazy and can be violent because until now I still have the kesan sampingan when my classmates tried to dislocate or at least break my leg in Form 5 in 2018. Tak de tindakan diambil and brushed off as accident during PJK. Usually best solution if the school don't take action is tukar sekolah if possible then forcing them to continue to be in the school because "it's only a few more years before you finish SPM" especially if she has any mental issues like depression or undiagnosed autism. I'm also a mother now and I'm already worried about my son's school life after what I experienced in a "prestigious secondary school" in my mother's school days and also because his father is warga asing(kahwin cara agama je. Tak dapat sijil nikah walaupun JPN bagitahu senang nak dapat lepas ada sijil lahir anak tapi JAKIM tetap reject tahun lepas)
As a Malaysian who went to public school here, indifference to bullying incidents is common here. A friend of mine went through emotional and mental bullying years ago, she still suffers from the trauma from back then, though she thankfully managed to get help. That said, i hate that the bullies didn't get what was deserved. I wish it had been taken seriously, and i wish our government does take it seriously. Thank you for highlighting this case, Megan. ❤ 🇲🇾
I remember one expose about a malaysian celebrity who was accused of bullying, this girl who was the victim even became clinically depressed. but instead of the celeb getting cancelld like on korea, people pounced on the victim and cyberbullied her instead. even their old teacher was like "no way our girl is like this, she's so sweet to us!"
I don’t get it how bullying is such a horrendous problem in some countries. Children of high schools. Do no one intervenes or people don’t tell their parents. Does no one notices?? How is that possible?? If someone as much slap anyone in my country, everyone gets involved, they would be thrown out of the school and not given admission anywhere else alongwith their families shamed in the society. Being born in a country with no to little bullying, this feels so weird sometimes.
I don’t know how Zulfarhans parents could ever fine peace after how their son died from such horrific brutality at the hands of his abusers and they STILL beat him after medical help!! They knew EXACTLY what they were doing which is why Zulfarhan died. I can’t wrap my head around the pathetic sentences those bastards were given and the prosecution was right that they KNEW what they were doing…. Are why were there NO CHARGES against the University??? They KNEW what was happening to Zulfarhan and they did nothing???? And the doctors who saw Zulfarhan who believed a couple of 22yo cadets that were seeking outside medical help, wasn’t that unusual and not someone from the University??? Every single person that knew and SAW what Zulfarhan endured over those countless days are all guilty of Zulfarhans death. They all have blood on their hands!!!
Those kids likely from elite families, of course, no one dare stop them, otherwise they will be the next victim. The doctor likely to accept bribe from them too.
This got me crying a little because it made me think about what had happened to me. while my case didn't lead to anything pysical but i did have about 7 or 8 attempts within 3 months and luckily i didn't need the hospital. This video made me really mad because it really shows how bullying isn't taken serious enough because the perpetrators should have received the death penalty without the chance to appeal. Its not right for people to get off so lightly for causing so much harm to another person. So much more awareness is needed around bullying because this is seriously not okay.
oh my god megan thank you so much for covering this case!!! this happened in the same building i used to live at with my brother and we were so heartbroken and angered by the news and eventual "sentencing" of the culprits. been asking true crime youtubers to cover this and make it more known, but you're the only one who has. love you and your content so much.
it's not that bullying cases is on the rise all of a sudden. bullying, hazing, ragging has been happening since who knows when, especially with the older generations normalising these things, calling it a tradition or justifying it as "biasa lah darah muda". the difference between then and now is that we have social media and hence we hear about them more than we did during newspaper days.
Zulfarhan was waited by his parents for many years after his mother got miscarriage on her previous pregnancy.. He literally the first love for Mrs. Hawa and Mr. Zulkarnain. And that 6 psycopath take their baby lives. 😭
This was extremely heartbreaking, how can you do that to someone and claim you "love them enough to not harm their face". Like what????? I'm so sick of these perpetrators getting a slap on the wrist for crimes they commit. These victims WILL NEVER come back while they are free to eat, live, breathe, think, etc.
I don't know why didn't the Judges give them life sentences. They took away a life which no one has the right to do. Doesn't the boys feel guilty of bullying and murdering someone. The judges seem to support the criminals instead of bringing justice
I knew a guy who was a cadet at UPNM around the time this incident happened. I brought this topic up and sadly he said it's normal and that if the instigators happened to be kids of high ranking military officials then chances are that the incident gets ignored or it gets swept under the rug 😡
I am not shocked as those who are wealthy and/or have power tend to get away with things, including murder. This was how it was in history too. It is sad that history continues to repeat itself. 😢
This happens a lot to in the Philippines too, where even in the most prestigious military academies like the Philippine Military Academy and Philippine National Police Academy, reports of hazing exist all the time and some cadets are hazed to the point of death.
True. This is happening around the world not only in malaysia. But it shud not be until causing death or even severe injury. That is too much. Any management that allows this happen shud be held accountable. Ppl shud know the limit when to stop.
It's hurtful just to hear as a stranger, i cant even imagine the pain the parents went through. May allah bless the soul of both the victims and the parents.
I can't understand the tendency of the courts to favor the perpetrators over the victims. That to me is the most worrisome part of this story. Bullying has always been with us. I've been a victim and a bully myself without realizing it at the time. All I can do now is to apologize.
Because those who work at those courts are also perpetrators. Bullies cover bullies and usually those perpetrators are rich kids with connections, or gang members with connections. I'm from Eastern Europe and in the last months there has been a leak of a video of a jury partying with criminals and supposed human traffickers. Criminals have connections within the law.
justice has prevailed 🙏🏻 it took the family 7 years to finally avenge an innocent life. may you rest in peace, zulfarhan. & also thanks megan for covering this heart-wrenching incident.
I remember this case....it went viral and honestly, so many of us were so angry whether you're Malaysian or not. How can bullying be so normalise and not taken seriously just blew my mind. The case apparently weren't handled well too. Also.. That doctor.... Horribly, horribly pathetic. . And I still get mad when I hear of this case. Be at peace, Zulfarhan, you're no longer in pain. May you be granted the highest of Jannah.
All of these happened because he was accused of stealing one of the bullies laptop. There's no evidence that he was the one stealing it. How can they accused him? A "psychic" uncle from one of the bullies said late Zulfarhan stole it. Every part of this case infuriated me. EDIT: Today 23rd July 2024, 7 years after the death of Zulfarhan. The "Damned six" had their plea denied by the judges and got death sentences. No more giggles and smirks from them.

It was too sad. The whole country cried. I remember how cruel the bully was.. 😢😢😢. I had to pray for days for the victim. Too sad to learnt what was happened to Farhan. Al-fatihah. May Allah keep his soul with His righteous and pious servants.
I cannot imagine what the mother had to go through. She mentioned that she had miscarriages prior to having Zulfarhan and he is named after his father's name, farhan which means happiness and Osman after his granddad's name. No parent should see their child being murdered like this.

Thanks for covering this case Megan, It could not have come at a better time, because just last week, All 6 persons involved in Zulfarhan's assault were sentenced to the death penalty ( death by hanging ), this happened after Zulfarhan's family appealed to the Appellate Court. Before the popular K-drama "The Glory" became a hit last year, Zulfarhan was already tortured with a hot iron... nobody should not have to suffer this kind of assault. It took 7 seven long years for justice to be served. Bullying culture is prevalent in schools ( boarding or non-boarding ) in Malaysia. Parents with the influence & money will do what they can to cover up for the mistakes of their kids.
As a mother, the what if this happens to my son fills me with such despair. RIP you can tell just from his smile just how much of a good person & beloved son he was. Some people are so hateful they feel the need to stamp out light.
Actually when he arrived at Serdang Hospital and pronounced dead, the doctors already suspected foul play and they lodged a police report before the parents.
What amazes me is how this channel grows so fast? I was here before 10k subs and I am so happy for Megan and the rest of her team. Quality contents as always.
It doesn't have to be true. If they say he stole something, then they'll stick to it. I had the same thing happening to me in high school these girls who hated me would say I stole their shit and gave me grief and took my things while throwing insults my way constantly. 😒😤
Same here and they had the audacity to tell the teacher I stole their stuff and almost got me expelled within the first week of 4th grade at a new school. She lied to the teachers that I stole her 50 cents before she admitted to lying about the coin after we we're in the counselor's room to get the details from both of us after my mother demanded that the headmistress do a thorough investigation instead of just believing words without evidence. Turns out she was jealous that I was wearing a Barbie flip watch that had LED lights flash a few seconds on the cover when a button is pressed because she couldn't find a similar watch for 10 bucks at the night market near her. Spread to the class that I stole her money and refused to admit it all because she was jealous of a cheap plastic watch even to the point that her older sister tried to force me to return the stolen coin.
My friend's cousin told me his experiences of being a victim of ragging in the boys hostel. The act was not violent per se but it was humiliating for sure. (The seniors organised a program for the freshers in the Hostel/Dormitory where the juniors had to rampwalk wearing just briefs with additional bra that they had to get from somewhere anyhow). I was baffled to hear of such a story and i assumed that as it was baffling to him as well that they would put a stop to it. I asked him, "Your batch must have stopped the trend right?" (I expected a yes) he replied "we suffered at the hands of the seniors so our juniors must also suffer the same" i was actually speechless.
This is how things like this goes on and on. Instead of thinking of the humiliation they faced and putting an end to it, they instead think “we went through it, you should too. The worse, the better”
Yeah, same in my country. Stupidest reason ever. Personally always thought whenever I heard this. "You go after the ones who actually bully you, you stupid f@ck!"

The fact that THIS IS a MILITARY school is CRAZY. Imagine these people are the ones that are going to protect the country? Fckking sick

Bad people are often drawn to positions where they gain power they can abuse to bully people. They're hard to weed out.
To this day this case traumatises me, where is the warden in charge? the system fails him, and why did other platoon mates not report? , how come nobody realised he was missing for a long period? Is there any rich kid inside the military that nobody can touch? did someone receive hush money so the rich kid could bully anyone, why did the clinic fail to recognise his severe injury?, there are so many questions left unanswered and bullying cases inside the military in Malaysia are normal, most of the victims never get justice.

it was never a bullying incident.

Salute brother.

I would hate to see what they would do to the enemy if they would do this to a fellow classmate.
I have heard some people say their friends joined police academy or the army just to beat people without consequences and for the money.
Thats probably how most soldiers in todays modern day operates. The system and culture they adapt is almost similar to each other.

Thank you for your explanation of the attitude towards bullying.
I was having trouble understanding why this torture was ignored.

@@izzatihassan1475 Celebs are disgusting, they are in for money and fame. They are worshipped and defended even when they do worse things.
It’s even more tragic cus it’s just pure cruelty… no reasonable motive or purpose. Just evil
oh my god megan thank you so much for covering this case!!! this happened in the same building i used to live at with my brother and we were so heartbroken and angered by the news and eventual "sentencing" of the culprits. been asking true crime youtubers to cover this and make it more known, but you're the only one who has. love you and your content so much.
I'm not surprised, bullying cases are rising around here. I lived in Seri Kembangan just 10-15 minutes drive to UPNM.
it's not that bullying cases is on the rise all of a sudden. bullying, hazing, ragging has been happening since who knows when, especially with the older generations normalising these things, calling it a tradition or justifying it as "biasa lah darah muda". the difference between then and now is that we have social media and hence we hear about them more than we did during newspaper days.
Zulfarhan was waited by his parents for many years after his mother got miscarriage on her previous pregnancy.. He literally the first love for Mrs. Hawa and Mr. Zulkarnain. And that 6 psycopath take their baby lives. 😭
It hurts how justice isn't served.. 😢😢 I'm so sad for him.. he seems like a good kind bright person
Justice is being served now. See pinned comment.
😢this is so sad and he is such a good boy. Came to his dad to make him happy.
The buliies got the death sentence.. it was on the news earlier today
In latest news they got death sentences
I knew a guy who was a cadet at UPNM around the time this incident happened. I brought this topic up and sadly he said it's normal and that if the instigators happened to be kids of high ranking military officials then chances are that the incident gets ignored or it gets swept under the rug 😡
I am not shocked as those who are wealthy and/or have power tend to get away with things, including murder. This was how it was in history too. It is sad that history continues to repeat itself. 😢
Whoa they really do live in a bubble
This happens a lot to in the Philippines too, where even in the most prestigious military academies like the Philippine Military Academy and Philippine National Police Academy, reports of hazing exist all the time and some cadets are hazed to the point of death.
Kaya nga. Ito rin naalala ko sir. 😢
Either fellow bullies covering for fellow bullies or them fearing that siding with the victim might force them to change status quo.
Because BAD PEOPLE just likethzt sits at power. It's not hard to understand. Unfortunate tru5
What kind of military training will have iron wounds all over the body? That doctor from private clinic, seriously??
justice has prevailed 🙏🏻 it took the family 7 years to finally avenge an innocent life. may you rest in peace, zulfarhan.
& also thanks megan for covering this heart-wrenching incident.
please cover 2017 tragedy in malaysia where 23 tahfiz students died when their tahfiz school were bombed by underage children using cooking gas barrel
May you be granted the highest of Jannah.
the parents of the 6 killers never apologized to zulfarhan's parents too
All of these happened because he was accused of stealing one of the bullies laptop.
He even got burnt marks straight on his crotch area and butt. The pain when he sit or pee, I couldn't even imagine. Burnt marks all over his back, how could he sleep at all 😢
@@knock-knockwhosthere9933he didn’t even had time to pee or sit…. Was just straight tortured for days till he passed away. And the bullies just smirks and giggles after…
HI FROM MALAYSIA..I REMEMBER THIS CASE,SO SO SAD WHEN A PLACE SUPPOSED TO BE SAFE AT THE END BECOMING THE PLACE OF HELL FOR THE VICTIM.ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN IN THE 1ST PLACE,I JUST DONT KNOW HOW CAN A HUMAN BEING DO THIS KIND OF THINGS TO ANOTHER HUMAN BEING.SO SO WRONG
This is why women choose the bear. Even men are not safe around other men
When I saw this notif i clicked immediately, i love how u cover stories in a very informative and respectful manner
“Deserves a second chance?!” That is so unfair
Zulfarhan was the rainbow baby for his parents 💔
A great final statement, its a call to all of us to ensure such tragedies dont happen - reminds me of the saying, Evil prevails when good men do nothing
Came here again to tell that the 6 mastermind were sentenced to death instead of 18 years of prison for murder in today's verdict
But they are still alive.
@@rosalynnchow5057"are sentenced" sorry, it is meant to be present tense. But I did specified "today's verdict"
There are still appeals for the Appealing Court and to His Majesty, hopefully those appeals were rejected
Thanks for covering this case Megan,
It could not have come at a better time, because just last week,
All 6 persons involved in Zulfarhan's assault were sentenced to the death penalty ( death by hanging ), this happened after Zulfarhan's family appealed to the Appellate Court.
A human life was ended. A life for a life. 18 years is a slap on the wrist. No lesson was learned.
update they are sentenced to death but somehow there still some supporting them
As a mother, the what if this happens to my son fills me with such despair. RIP you can tell just from his smile just how much of a good person & beloved son he was. Some people are so hateful they feel the need to stamp out light.
There's a difference between building charisma and bullying. But this is not a bullying case, this is an assault and murder
This is not bullying.
This is assault.
Bullying is calling a fat person fatty
NAHH
It's still considered Bullying bro, physical bullying is also a thing
You are so talented narrating all these stories. I am big fan of yours. Thank you!
Thank you for covering this case! May justice prevail. Amiiin.
Thank you for uploading, Megan! This is what would be the most creeepiest injustice and horrifice fatal abuse in Commonwealth countries history!
Spread to the class that I stole her money and refused to admit it all because she was jealous of a cheap plastic watch even to the point that her older sister tried to force me to return the stolen coin.
thank you for covering cases from malaysia, really appreciate your work
the court has decided the verdict for the perpetrators of this case today. they were sentenced to death.
U should report it then if no 1 within will stop the cycle. Keeping silence is complicit.
Hello Megan, I always feel intrigued by your amazing crime investigation series, may he rest in peace. 😢 He had a bright future ahead of him. 😢
The bully person is the person who was not taught well by their parents in their home..i also experienced being bullied when i was in high school and i went through in pain...
Thank you for covering this.
