Oh you should definitely watch the movie Article 15 and Jai Bhim. They may not be a true stories but they clearly show how casteism is still prevalent in India and all the upper castes see only the 1% Dalits who have come up with the help of reservations thanks to DR.B.R.Ambedkar and complain that "their opportunities" are taken away due to reservations.

Not only that, but tons of north koreans are extremely poor, meaning they have no time to think about these type of things since they're too busy trying to survive poverty.

India has a very bad sexual assault (r word) culture, often blaming victims and some are even subject to honor killings and acid attacks. And no its not just a muslim thing as some mistakenly believe. It happens with hindus and sikhs as well. I've heard from Indian women how creepy and stalkerish Indian men can be towards them, and I've even seen abusive/obsessive men portrayed as cool, good, romantic guys in Indian music videos and films.

And the justice system refused to do anything about it so there was no moral qualm in dispensing justice outside it. Trying to paint this as anything but warranted and right only serves the abusers.

This reminds me of a similar murder that happened in the U.S. involving a man named Ken Rex McElroy. He, too, bullied and brutalized a town, Skidmore, Missouri for years with few repercussions. Finally, the townspeople were fed up and he was shot to death outside a bar by an angry mob of locals. No one was ever convicted of the crime.
They made a movie about it called "In Broad Daylight," as well as at least 2 documentaries. Sometimes people feel the need to take the law into their own hands.

India does have a caste issue but also a gender based violence and lack of policing issue. It is a country that was destroyed to its nubs by the British with only 13% of the population being educated when they left 75 years ago. India has a comprehensive reservation system where up to 50% of the seats are reserved for formerly oppressed castes but not taking into account the castes or people which have had successful upward mobility. Moreover a lot of things have changed in the last 75 years yet they world continues to condemn india without acknowledging that a lot has been done to uplift the oppressed castes.
Hell if india didn’t have a good program how are the prime minister and president both from the lowest castes? And wildly popular at that.
I’d say india has a long way to go socially, especially in villages and that is India’s burden and responsibility for its people where no western nation will help besides patronisation and condemnation.

A small rural area from our State has an urban legend of some kind. There was a serial child r*pist, people didn't know his identity at first. But when his latest victim survived his attempt to kill them, his identity was revealed. The police kept him in a overnight lock up jail. One of the night shift guard was a friend of the latest victim's father. He snuck the r*pist out and led him to a wooded area at the outskirt of the village. The next day when the other polices found out about his disappearance they went to the same wooded area. They witnessed hundreds of men (fathers) walk out of the forest. The police went into the forest and found the perpetrator dead and brutally mutilated. When questioned, all the men of the village had only one thing to say "he was already dead when we found him". The police couldn't do any further investigation ( they didn't even want to) and set all the men free.

Could you do the case of Thailand’s epic drama of a missing 3 years old girl who was later found starved to death in the hill forest? The case of UNCLE POL and the little niece CHOMPU. The court just punished him for the crime but during 3 years investigation the case became the CIRCUS. Some money hungry Thai medias made him A SUPERSTAR. Uncle Pol gained million of fans like the cult. He even released the music video and a single featuring a famous country singer.
The Thai police team here is PHENOMENAL. They sent the undercover cops to mingle with the villagers in so many ways possible. The merchants, the farmers, the village drivers etc. for 3 years to monitor every move of Uncle Pol.
The killing evidence the police found and never released to any media was the hair cut by the scissor before the little girl died. This forensic evidence just tied Uncle Pol to the kidnap and murder.
Some evidence led to the theory that he killed her for the satan worship.
