I'm definitely interested in your projects. I have been playing around with a few of these exciters on various materials and configurations. You are correct that it is very similar to a stringed instrument, one of my favorite set ups is a salvaged cello and old pawn shop guitar paired with the right exciter in the right location and playing the appropriate music you can get a very nice sound. Imagine Django gypsy jazz playing through an old guitar, I'm no audiophile with a perfect ear, but to me it sounds amazing.

Enjoyed your video. I bought some exciters a few years ago and hooked up a 40w per channel and held an exciter on a box and was really impressed. Going to get some Birch and some Foamular for my permanent speakers. Will be looking for your next video

      Thank you very much😁👍
Happy to hear that you will be building a new pair of speakers.
I am currently designing a new pair of speaker ideas until the 2 meter long speakers will come😁
And I will make one or two videos of the built💪
      Best regards

Ah rounding the corners really does make a difference, good to know! Im just beginning to tinker with these, and just held one up to a raw, unsanded square xps panel, and it's very harsh as you described. Haven't gotten around to rounding and sanding yet. Now i at least have hope that it'll get better.

Hi try adding a thin metal disc or a CD/DVD at the top of the panel in the centre, with thin double sided tape, stick just a quarter to the panel, you will hear a big difference to the top end.

@@macha566 Hi if you watch my video, Fantastic dml speakers part 3 you will get the idea of the metal discs, they resonate much higher than the plywood giving a much higher frequency quality and you will eliminate the high end screech that plywood makes. Regards

Do you happen to know what tape is used to remount the exciters? I saw a video and they listed it and I can't find the video. I know it's a 3-m tape that is recommended. Thank you in advance

      Yes of course😁
      All 3M VHB are perfect!
      I use the 3M 4229P Double-Sided Assembly Adhesive Pads:

What is also interesting to use is a good and fexible Epoxy glue😉
      Hope I could help😁🤙

      Hi Paul, yes of course😁
In this video I am using poplar plywood. a pane costs here 10.70 Euros in Germany.
Poplar has very interesting acoustic properties😁
Hope I could help and if I can answer more questions please let me know!
