Chris Lore the reason I really like this is because of the Mickey, Donald, Goofy trio. I like to think they have some sort of innate trinity, which is why they were always innately in tune with Sora as well.
Interesting that after everything that happened, Ansem ended up depressed, Xemnas ended up lonely, and Young Xehanort... ended up giving Sora one last verbal middle finger.
I was more happy for luxord marluxia and Larxene it was very wholesome to see them all become free and happy towards sora. Hopefully we can see them all again in the next one

Takeharu Ishimoto worked on 21 pieces, Yoshitaka Suzuki worked on 4 pieces I think and Tsuyoshi Sekito on a few pieces too, the rest was all Yoko Shimomura. So yes, she did most of the OST and was probably responsible for this very track.
Ansem and Xemnas could pass as two brothers working for their dad’s family business. And Young Xehanort is one of their sons who also works part time at grandpa’s business.
Terranorts another brother. Vanitas Dark Riku and Xion are adopted. Luxord is a loyal employee. Marluxia and Larxene are disgruntled employees. Xigbar is a longtime loyal employee. As if. He has been embezzling for decades.
Xero and whats disappointing is that when he grows up and finally loses he reveals after YEARS that he was just a misunderstood good guy... fucking nomura
It's less that he was evil, and more about knowing that Sora was soon to die due to over using the power of waking. He was salty, but was just gloating that Sora was one foot in the grave
Technically, Dark Riku (I'm going to call him Rikunort) and Vanitas didn't change...neither did Xigbar/Luxu, but he wasn't really evil at all, he was prankin. Honestly...I don't get some of the redemptions. I like them, but don't get them.

The most incredible thing is that in terms of lore this was probably the most difficult fight. It's very incredible to think about what Sora, Riku and King Mickey can do together. And this is due to the fact that the three were already final bosses and two of them were secret bosses and very difficult. By far the most memorable boss in the saga in my opinion.

Ansem returns to his time unable to care or believe in what he's doing anymore, not even his own future self's ambitions, and knowing that he is doomed to forget any epiphanies and dive right back into that ambition. Xemnas returns to his time finally acknowledging how painful it is to be alone, with full knowledge that this loneliness is entirely his own fault, and also doomed to return to being that old power-hungry man upstairs. Young Xehanort returns to his time refusing to acknowledge any defeat, playing up Sora's impending doom out of sheer spite, and trapping himself in the failings that would later lead him to the emptiness experienced as Ansem and Xemnas, the failings that even his eldest self clearly hasn't grown out of.
Even if it seems like a cop out to have these characters forget everything once they return to the past, I really liked your analysis of how tragic that can be, they (knowingly or not) are doomed to repeat the same mistakes that got them there.

I thought the exact same thing when i heard it for the first time. The cello in this part is amazing. Overall i'd say it's my favourite KH3 music, a medley of already amazing separate musics but with choir, for an especially meaningful fight.

This is like the ultimate Kingdom Hearts battle music. The most incredible final boss themes fully orchestrated and recorded. The ostanati, the piano, the solo strings. It encapsulates everything I ADORE about Shimomura's writing and adds amazing brass, percussion, and choir. It's basically the perfect Kingdom Hearts cue.
Add onto that the composition itself being a mix of three iconic leitmotifs of threats from past games rolled into one, it makes it even better and is a culmination.
The songs that appear in this theme (YX) Dark Impetus (Ansem) Forze Del Male (Xemnas) Darkness Of The Unknown I fucking love how all of these songs are orchestrated so well in this song. If you watch the cutscenes from this encounter in the the theater then you actually get the order in which they're supposed to be eliminated. Ansem is defeated first, Xemnas second, and YX last.
The final boss theme was great. I think a part of the reason why people would feel this is more epic is because you're fighting three people who were all final bosses previously so you have memories attached.
2:57 I love how the cello AND violin plays xemnas' part of the theme when the cello is usually reserved for young xehanort, it's like those two were in harmony when that part plays

From a narrative standpoint, this one has got to be one of the best boss fights in the series. Nomura literally took the three final bosses of the three best games in the series, put them all together and said "Here ya go". It was soooo amazing.

The main parts of their themes play in the order they're standing lmao Also, it plays in that order because Ansem was the one who started Young Xehanort on his path and then Young Xehanort brought Xemnas through time travel the beginning part is the order of the Xehanorts appearing in the game's timeline, Young Xehanort, Ansem and Xemnas
@@SSlash There was really no other combo possible then Sora Riku Mickey though. Sora is the main so he is not optional, they needed at least 1 disney rep and Mickey is the only pure disney character thats a keyblade master, and the history/rivalry/weird sort of mentorship or whatever you want to call it with Ansem and Riku is more fleshed out then any nort with any other character in the franchise. Ansem and Riku have the most personal connection between the lights and main norts. Y Xehanort really didn't have much interaction with any light beyond Riku (DDD) and Sora (kh3). Xemnas didn't really have a clear rival in the lights either. Xemnas and Roxas never had much of a personal connection/interaction. Xemnas was Roxas boss most of his story. It was distand and impersonal. So with Xemnas not having a clear rival, and Y Xehanort being mostly Sora (and previously Riku) focused, and Ansem being very Riku focused for like several games in a row to the point any other rival for Ansem would just not make sense, these 3 characters are pretty much locked in those slots. Xion and Roxas would have been out of place here. That being said it's a pity Sora needed to defeat old man xehanort, because the BBS trio seems more fitting for that closure in my opinion. But yeah main protag vs main villain.. can't really get out of that one.
After listening to their individual boss themes for Ansem, Xemnas, and YX from other games, I realize this theme is combining those themes into one AND made it sort of its own thing. I love it when games do that 😂
For real man, this moment alright. The cutscene before this fight plays on and I somehow realized this was going to be a big fight. I knew I had to fight all 3 of them but I just thought that it might be a big fight with different sequences. Perhaps first Ansem then Xemnas etc etc. But the freaking moment that camera zooms out towards Sora and you see all 3 of them standing there in their battle stance I was screaming so freaking hard. I loved this fight it made me cry, happy, hyped, dude I didn't even know I had emotions like these untill this fight.
Anyone else feel like this wasn't loud enough in game? I had headphones on and all I remember hearing the first time was just attack sfx and grunts from all the characters.

YES! I even went into the settings hoping to turn down the vocal audio and the music volume up, but there wasn't an option. I kind of hope they'll add something like that in an update? Sort of how they added the "Return to Main Menu" button to Breath of the Wild in an update, lol.

I never in my dreams thought I would ever fight all 3 at the same time, especially with Mickey and Riku as your companions. I am so glad that I never gave this concept a thought because oh boy was I shocked when the fight started
I'm sorry, do you WANT YX to fucking time stop you as TEN buildings are thrown at you? THEN as they're all stacked they're literally bowling-pinned out of the way with Ansem's BOWLING BALLS, *INSTANTLY* killing you? *Actually, that sounds amazing.*
I like it how each villain fights stronger after one of them is defeated. Makes ya want to go back and check out all of the possibilities. Some changes I noticed after certain conditions... Larxene can hit you in midair with super attack. Marly goes crazy on the movements. Xigbar shoots and teleports more. Riku combo's more. Terranort is still a dick. Vanitas rides on Keyblades twice in a row. Saix gets destroyed by Roxas. Young Xehanort loves spamming guard breaker. Ansem becomes a black hole. Xemnas gets everything except buildings :(

So yea it was a bit too easy...my theory with that is that it was Osaka teams way of compromise. They wanted to have really asthetically pleasing bosses but they didnt want to make the bosses bull shit levels hard(hello super bosses thanks for the trauma). So to compromise I think they turned down the difficulty, albeit a bit too much.
so far my only "complaint", it wouldn't have been that bad if you unlocked critical after completing the game , cause then you enjoyed the story the first time and can enjoy the challenge the second time
Xemnas should have gotten his Zebra coat and Young Xehanort should have gotten his outfit from the flashbacks during this part. Much as I love the OrgXIII cloak, I feel like every member should have gotten something unique when it came time to actually fight them.

I felt kind of bad for Ansem and Xemnas as they faded away. It almost seemed like they realized their actions weren't worth it in the end.

This is like the ultimate Kingdom Hearts battle music. The most incredible final boss themes fully orchestrated and recorded. The ostanati, the piano, the solo strings. It encapsulates everything I ADORE about Shimomura's writing and adds amazing brass, percussion, and choir. It's basically the perfect Kingdom Hearts cue.
Add onto that the composition itself being a mix of three iconic leitmotifs of threats from past games rolled into one, it makes it even better and is a culmination.

i just thought this order was fitting, end it where it all began with Ansem.
Somehow, I did the same thing. And I saw another TH-camr than also kinda did it, not sure if he consciously or unconsciously did so, but he just did.
If you watch the cutscenes from this encounter in the the theater then you actually get the order in which they're supposed to be eliminated. Ansem is defeated first, Xemnas second, and YX last.

Ironically much more epic and climactic than the final boss themes, imo.
That feeling when you've made 3 legendary tracks, mashed them up together to create an amazing boss theme and realise its gonna be hard asf to top it.

The final boss theme was great. I think a part of the reason why people would feel this is more epic is because you're fighting three people who were all final bosses previously so you have memories attached.

From a narrative standpoint, this one has got to be one of the best boss fights in the series.
Nomura literally took the three final bosses of the three best games in the series, put them all together and said "Here ya go".
It was soooo amazing.

@@SSlash There was really no other combo possible then Sora Riku Mickey though. Sora is the main so he is not optional, they needed at least 1 disney rep and Mickey is the only pure disney character thats a keyblade master, and the history/rivalry/weird sort of mentorship or whatever you want to call it with Ansem and Riku is more fleshed out then any nort with any other character in the franchise. Ansem and Riku have the most personal connection between the lights and main norts. Y Xehanort really didn't have much interaction with any light beyond Riku (DDD) and Sora (kh3). Xemnas didn't really have a clear rival in the lights either. Xemnas and Roxas never had much of a personal connection/interaction. Xemnas was Roxas boss most of his story. It was distand and impersonal. So with Xemnas not having a clear rival, and Y Xehanort being mostly Sora (and previously Riku) focused, and Ansem being very Riku focused for like several games in a row to the point any other rival for Ansem would just not make sense, these 3 characters are pretty much locked in those slots. Xion and Roxas would have been out of place here. That being said it's a pity Sora needed to defeat old man xehanort, because the BBS trio seems more fitting for that closure in my opinion. But yeah main protag vs main villain.. can't really get out of that one.

After listening to their individual boss themes for Ansem, Xemnas, and YX from other games, I realize this theme is combining those themes into one AND made it sort of its own thing. I love it when games do that 😂

For real man, this moment alright. The cutscene before this fight plays on and I somehow realized this was going to be a big fight. I knew I had to fight all 3 of them but I just thought that it might be a big fight with different sequences. Perhaps first Ansem then Xemnas etc etc. But the freaking moment that camera zooms out towards Sora and you see all 3 of them standing there in their battle stance I was screaming so freaking hard. I loved this fight it made me cry, happy, hyped, dude I didn't even know I had emotions like these untill this fight.
Anyone else feel like this wasn't loud enough in game? I had headphones on and all I remember hearing the first time was just attack sfx and grunts from all the characters.

YES! I even went into the settings hoping to turn down the vocal audio and the music volume up, but there wasn't an option. I kind of hope they'll add something like that in an update? Sort of how they added the "Return to Main Menu" button to Breath of the Wild in an update, lol.

I never in my dreams thought I would ever fight all 3 at the same time, especially with Mickey and Riku as your companions. I am so glad that I never gave this concept a thought because oh boy was I shocked when the fight started

I like it how each villain fights stronger after one of them is defeated. Makes ya want to go back and check out all of the possibilities. Some changes I noticed after certain conditions...
Larxene can hit you in midair with super attack.
Marly goes crazy on the movements.

Vanitas rides on Keyblades twice in a row.

I did this fight in Critical Mode. It was painful, but oh so cathartic when I finally defeated them all.
If only the Game would have been more difficult, so this fight would feel like all 3 Boss fights together.
So yea it was a bit too easy...my theory with that is that it was Osaka teams way of compromise. They wanted to have really asthetically pleasing bosses but they didnt want to make the bosses bull shit levels hard(hello super bosses thanks for the trauma). So to compromise I think they turned down the difficulty, albeit a bit too much.

so far my only "complaint", it wouldn't have been that bad if you unlocked critical after completing the game , cause then you enjoyed the story the first time and can enjoy the challenge the second time
Turn on zero exp and that’s the closest you get to critical mode. You actually see the difference when you stay on level one the whole game

Xemnas should have gotten his Zebra coat and Young Xehanort should have gotten his outfit from the flashbacks during this part. Much as I love the OrgXIII cloak, I feel like every member should have gotten something unique when it came time to actually fight them.
The zebra cota was special because he got that when he fused with Kingdom Hearts.
And they can bend space and time and kingdom hearts is RIGHT FUCKING THERE BEHIND XEHANORT so I understand but c'mon...
