The blend of the Final Boss themes from both Kingdom Hearts 1 and Kingdom Hearts 2 is so well done and cathartic. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.
"Behold the endless abyss! Within lies the heart of all worlds: Kingdom Hearts!" "Look as hard as you are able. You'll not find even the smallest glimmer of light! From those dark depths are all hearts born! Even yours." "Darkness conquers all worlds!"

This theme is hype. It captures the dire circumstances surrounding the battle. At this point in the game, Xehanort has all but won. He's got the X-blade, he's opened Kingdom Hearts and unleashed darkness upon the worlds. Its not a matter of stopping him from reaching his goal anymore, its a matter of stopping the process that has been set into motion because his goal was achieved. This song isn't of a heroic clash between good and evil. Its a song about a desperate struggle to stop a seemingly unstoppable force from literally wiping out all of existence
I agree to me xehonort already won when he took control of terra back in bbs all xehonort needed was the x blade to be completely complete which he succeded this battle not only saved the universe but also saved kingdom hearts from his clutches after all you fight him in the heart of all worlds ... KINGDOM HEARTS !!!!!
The theme is good because it incorporates Ansems theme, Xemnas's theme, Terra Xehanorts, and Xehanorts theme. The song is the cumulative of all being put back together aka Xehanorts battle theme
The song only incorporates themes from Destati and Rage Awakened, everything else in between is original. I don't know where you got all that other stuff from.
I think the theme is perfect. Previous final boss themes always were about the character you fought. It was HIS personal theme. This theme however has parts which in general represent the whole franchise, and the rage awakened part feels like is owned by sora in that moment. To sum it up, it represents a final battle and lots of memories from past games.
@@platinumvoid1648 but the rage is all Sora now. Especially since Xehanort just murdered Kairi right in front of him. Not to mention Rage Awakened being the theme for the trailers of this game. And remember that Sora has been basically using Terra's inhereted keyblade.

This wasnt about the thirteen darknesses and seven lights. Sora had a score to settle with Master Xehanort for all that he's done. The emotion of this song explains Sora's no everyones anger towards Master Xehanort and how Sora had a job to finish.

Gene yeah it’s only when that whole part kicks in really that it gets you going Well actually I like when that rage awakened part comes in for a second too
In all of Kingdom Hearts, even when I played this before critical mode was out, this is by far THE hardest boss battle. People say this game was easy on Proud but I think it's a reverse of KH2 where instead of the endgame bosses being surprisingly easy, in KH3 every boss starting at Davy Jones will kick your ASS no questions asked. And then there's Xehanort who will kick your ass x10.
Yea. I played on Proud and I can kind of see why hardcore players may find it a tad easy but for me it definitely lived up to its name. I heard some complaints that the endgame bosses were a bit easy so I turned on Zero EXP in the last Disney world (LV 36) to ensure that they’d be a worthy final challenge. I got exactly what I asked for.
I freaking loved the end of this game. It’s a new rendition of the original “VS. Ansem” theme, you have Donald and Goofy there with you, it’s like you’re finally finishing what you started back in KH 1.
This is such a good soundtrack and the violins creates such a powerful moment during the final battle! Fuck, I love those violins. They are my favorite part.
Time for a good old fashion anime showdown, Xehanort believes in himself, Sora turns into a boat and the player is confused at what the hell is happening while screaming and spaming heal spells and potions.
I liked that Donald and Goofy helped Sora defeat Xehonart in the end but I would have really loved if they had showed every other friend that Sora made along the way of his journey from KH1-KH3 supporting him as well. Like for them to be there in spirit you know. The whole premise of the game was that all hearts are connected and that friendship unlocks a hearts true power, so I thought that would have been a neat idea.
Blocking him feels so good also its so cinematic but instead you are doing it all it really feels like a sword battle something than in kh2 dint happend so much
I dont get why people is hating this theme . I think its perfect this is exactly how i envisioned the final battle against xehonort would be something so simple yet dark and heroic !!! And i cant wait to fight him to this theme its going to be fucking epic !!!!!!
I think maybe people were looking for something more original, not a rehash of already existing themes. Personally, I like this theme. Its not only a mix of Guradando nel buio and Rage Awakened, but it also have it's own original mix to it.
i think people are kinda disappointed that the final battle theme for the whole saga wasn't composed by shimomura. it's apparently by ishimoto, the one behind soundtracks like ff type 0 and crisis core. honestly i love his music (aaalmost like shimomura's) and i think he did a really great job with this track, adapting his signature style to include elements of shimomura's
The final dance with fate at journeys end. Nothing more thrilling than setting a score with a man who took everything from you right before your eyes. And your three companions your three greatest friends. Master of the x blade you will fall. This fight truly the best one yet.
While I wished for a mostly-original theme (with maybe a few callbacks to Destati) for this battle, if they REALLY wanted to go the "Destati + another track mixed", I think Fate of the Unknown would have been a better choice, rather than Rage Awakened. Despite what many people say here, Rage Awakened is not a "generic rage theme", it's Lingering Will's theme, period. And no amount of mental gymnastics will change that. On the other hand Fate of The Unknown was the track that introduced us to Master Xehanort, in the KH2FM Secret Ending. So it would be fitting as the track of our last confrontation with the old man.
I disagree. Rage Awakening isn't just a generic rage theme. But I believe it's fully appropriate because while we associate the song with Lingering Will, it should be seen on a more fundamental level. IE: Who is Lingering Will's Rage ALWAYS towards? Even when he goes against Sora, who does he think he's fighting, who is that rage he wants to unleash all that power against? Xehanort. It's always been Xehanort. And here at the end of everything, after over a decade of dealing with his schemes and bearing witness to all the suffering he has caused in one form or another? It's time to unleash all that hell right back at him.
The Rage Awakened was such a strange choice, especially given how conscious Yoko usually is about motifs (such as incorporating Roxas, Ven and Sora's theme into Vanitas' boss theme)
Considering this is the first new game for the consoles since the ps2, perhaps it’s a sign KH is finally jumping on the Dlc bandwagon. Or at least gearing up for free updates, rather than release the same game over and over with tweaks and changes like the others.
If you hear closely, you can hear other characters themes 0:25 - 0:40 Dismiss (Terra-Xehanort?) 0:40 - 1:30 Terra (Rage Awakened) 1:31 - 2:30 appears to be either new content or Scala Ad Caelum? 2:31 - 3:02 Rage Awakened again The preponderance of Rage Awakened might represent Sora's increase in power to equal or surpass the old greats such as Terra. Appears to loop afterwards
Hearing this song when I finally got to final Xehanort on critical mode made it so much more epic. It was such a struggle for me and knowing I just had one fight until I finished the whole thing made it feel like a real final showdown
Its worth it if you haven't gotten to him in critical mode heads up you will be doing extensive blocking with the keyblade ...he comes at you hard !!!!

I really like it, but a bit short from love. Still, it is the most suitable theme for the final battle. Personally, the best theme for me in KH3 is the battle theme for Pirates of the Caribbean- fresh, and truly amazing.
In the words of Xehanort, Sora is and always has been a dull, ordinary boy--and that's why he triumphed. Without any outstanding talents and skills, extraordinary perspectives or insights, or notable mentors, Sora was freer than anyone else to create his own path, views, and destiny. In this way, he had the greatest opportunity to learn the true nature of the worlds, the heart, and Kingdom Hearts, all. It also meant he was able to nurture and grow not just "light," but a light that was all his own. Paradoxically, being dull and ordinary also meant that he was outstanding among anyone and everyone else. Those are the types of people best positioned to change the world, whether in a fictional universe like Kingdom Hearts, or over here on this side of the fourth wall. It's an important lesson--and given the current state of the real world, it's probably more important now than any time in the history of our existence.
The battle is epic. The music is epic. The conclusion is epic. I can hear some Fate of the Unknown from KH2 secret ending and Guardando Nel Buio from KH1 final boss in this. I don't know how but it's perfectly mixed into an epic finale soundtrack. Truly a masterpiece.
@@jonaszprzybycien6545 that was going to happen no matter what. The path they chose to get there, and the way they ended it, was very underwhelming, disappointing, etc. Im tired of explaining why this game was an objective disappointment.
I think the reason why people feel a bit of dislike for this theme is because it is yet another culmination of final boss themes from previous games, something that has been done in the series a bunch of times before =| I honestly was hoping for something more unique and unexpected.
I kinda wish this made it into smash. This fight made me nostalgic when I first went into it. The music had some of that kingdom hearts 1 feel, and then I went down the path of remembering kh1, with Donald and goofy, losing them and then finding them again. The kh2 with riku at my side him defending me at every chance he could. I don't have alot of thoughts on kh3, maybe because it's still a fresh game in my mind. But this fight. The one against xeanort. This is what I think of when someone says kingdom hearts 3. And I would replay this game again for this one fight, just like in kh 1 and 2. I haven't really beaten the other games like those first 2 games on the playstation, but I still love this series.
@@LightDrag00n She does, but she isn’t the only one who does the ost. Takeharu Ishimoto did this one, he was the guy who composed the ost for the world ends with you.
@@LightDrag00n Since Birth By Sleep the KH series have mainly 3 composers: Tsuyoshi Sekito and Takeharu Ishimoto contribute to some tracks and, of course, most of the ost are done by Yoko Shimomura.
I think Ishimoto was a good choice because he's more of a DJ than necessarily composer. He's great at weaving different works together, and it really shows in this, which is effectively 5 or more songs put into one, yet comes out sounding like its own theme. It earns and owns its motifs. Shimomura is great at this too (Vector To The Heavens and Dismiss alone show this), but honestly the woman's made 15 odd variations on Dearly Beloved alone, she needs a break from high-stakes composing like this.
I feel like folks in this comments section don't realize how good at KH they are....I got my ass handed to me by this boss on Standard mode. Took me several tries to get through the last phase especially. The game wasn't difficult but it wasn't easy to the point of being unfun to me.
The game was enjoyable on Proud Mode, but I did have my difficulties at times. Mainly when I tripped up on a few of the new features in the game. The game was probably easier for me then it might be for others because I tend to focus on increasing my character's levels in games to the point of obsession. That being said, I did have my difficulties and while the game was not perfect I did enjoy it greatly. In the final portions, I did have difficulty which was expected considering the circumstances.
Oh yeah, for me, Proud Mode definitely lived up to its name. I only turned on Zero EXP in the last Disney world to give the Endgame bosses an extra boost. Died at least twice in each battle. And I’m willing to bet that up to 20% of my deaths throughout my entire playthrough were from fighting grandpa. ESPECIALLY that final phase.

People think Rage Awakened is Terra’s theme but it’s not. It has a reason that its called “Rage Awakened” and not “Terra’s Theme”. Its not a character theme, this music shows rage, which Sora had after The events (Kairi). Also dont forget we are forced to use “Rage” mode during this fight. This is a well made OST in every way and represents Sora’s rage (Rage Awakened), against Xehanort feeling (Destati) and The heroic finale Of this saga (New tunes Starting at 1:29) very well. Also how can someone cant like this part: 2:06 This music is fucking great

And him killing Kairi was just to add both fuel to the fire and humiliation towards Sora, his archnemesis.

That does seem quite appropriate for the end of the dark seeker saga.
No, it's the Lingering Wills theme.

If you grinded it's a breeze otherwise you will have a bad time
I freaking loved the end of this game.

Ah yes the epic theme of Sora vs. Literally me
I liked that Donald and Goofy helped Sora defeat Xehonart in the end but I would have really loved if they had showed every other friend that Sora made along the way of his journey from KH1-KH3 supporting him as well. Like for them to be there in spirit you know. The whole premise of the game was that all hearts are connected and that friendship unlocks a hearts true power, so I thought that would have been a neat idea.

Agreed, this practically screams "Final Battle".
i think people prefer the yx, ansem, and xemnas battle theme more
I think maybe people were looking for something more original, not a rehash of already existing themes. Personally, I like this theme. Its not only a mix of Guradando nel buio and Rage Awakened, but it also have it's own original mix to it.
Final boss theme could have been something more than just a medley. Seeing how good this is just makes me sadder that we didn’t get an original theme.
i think people are kinda disappointed that the final battle theme for the whole saga wasn't composed by shimomura. it's apparently by ishimoto, the one behind soundtracks like ff type 0 and crisis core. honestly i love his music (aaalmost like shimomura's) and i think he did a really great job with this track, adapting his signature style to include elements of shimomura's
The Rage Awakened was such a strange choice, especially given how conscious Yoko usually is about motifs (such as incorporating Roxas, Ven and Sora's theme into Vanitas' boss theme)
like others have said, this is clearly not a shimomura-arranged track
Yea but rage awakened sounds super cool
When Goofy and Donald come back, it was like my childhood came back to help me out.

NOMURAAAAA
It's just the left part upside-down.
Considering this is the first new game for the consoles since the ps2, perhaps it’s a sign KH is finally jumping on the Dlc bandwagon. Or at least gearing up for free updates, rather than release the same game over and over with tweaks and changes like the others.
If you hear closely, you can hear other characters themes
0:25 - 0:40 Dismiss (Terra-Xehanort?)
0:40 - 1:30 Terra (Rage Awakened)
1:31 - 2:30 appears to be either new content or Scala Ad Caelum?

The preponderance of Rage Awakened might represent Sora's increase in power to equal or surpass the old greats such as Terra.

I think the reason why people feel a bit of dislike for this theme is because it is yet another culmination of final boss themes from previous games, something that has been done in the series a bunch of times before =| I honestly was hoping for something more unique and unexpected.
The only thing better then a beautiful final boss fight is a beautiful song playing in the background. This is why I love Kingdom Hearts
Yoko Shimomura should have been the one to compose the final boss theme
I love this track but you're right.
But who composed? Wasn't she the series composer? I'm confused.
Such a great score for such a great boss, really worth the long wait.

I feel like folks in this comments section don't realize how good at KH they are....I got my ass handed to me by this boss on Standard mode. Took me several tries to get through the last phase especially. The game wasn't difficult but it wasn't easy to the point of being unfun to me.
News flash, most of us played the games on Proud Mode
