That time stop moment at 4:42 really feels like you fell into water, especially with that piano start. The second it ends it feels like you're hearing it from underwater. It feels kind of desperate, like you're trying to swim to the surface but no matter how hard you swim no progress is made- because time is *stopped.* To me, it feels like this part illustrates a struggle to regain control of the situation. Like you're trying to reach for something, anything to regain balance- to have your feet touch ground again- for things to make sense again. Then at 5:50, the piano starts again, and you surface. The song's back to normal, the violin trails. You can gasp for air again- but only for a moment before the song picks up. The fight hasn't ended yet.
the piano section that plays right as time stop occurs is 13 main notes. clever little bit by yoko shimomura. in the older iterations it was 12, like the numbers on a clock
yeah, definitely go listen to more KH music, Hits different when you're playing the game, like when you and the antagonists fighting synced to the beat. Another personal favorite of mine is "Disappeared" Xemnas theme from KH2, and a fight you should experience yourself.
"Dismiss" is a huge favorite of mine. It comes from Birth by Sleep. If you ever get into the story, you would get why the theme is so tragic, yet so powerful. It's my favorite version of the "Destati" theme.
All of the final boss music are great. Look up "Guardando Nel Buio" "Lord of the Castle" "Darkness of the Unknown" "Another Side (Battle Ver)" "Dismiss" and "Dark Domination" all of them are bangers

Although not many people end up seeing it, I think in Dream Drop Distance that his boss in that is so cool for the rewind mechanic where if you don't beat his second phase before the his clock reaches a full rotation of the hour hand then you are brought back to the start of phase one (although he will only have 2 bars of health any times this happens in the restarted phase 1
I always felt like the low and high toned violins were Xehanort and Eraqus talking, Eraqus trying to pull his friend out of his dark fate while Xehanort sees it as inevetable
I prefer his theme from Dream Drop Distance but what I love about it is it sounds more like a game boss for something like an old game or a remix for something like i dunno a marvel vs capton game or something. Or maybe Final Fantasy. Basically a different feel to it. Also i like how Xion's battle theme is changed to rock lol.
It really works for Xion because of the change in context, this is not a battle of tragedy and despair, those are part of her story, but this is not that battle anymore
I swear Young Xehanort’s theme is pure bliss..especially when he stops time, the piano syncs in and the music after that… oh and did I mention about Ben Diskin’s voice that is so smooth like chocolate?😊
2:01 to 2:25 has to be my favorite bit I love the Violin here it was stuck in my head for days after fighting him and I couldn’t figure out where it was from until I remembered this song lmao, I was too busy dealing with his time stop crap to realize what a bop this was
While I'd probably call YX one of the easier data battles (at least of the ones I've actually fought) I can certainly say he's one of my favourites. He really flexes his time stopping here, and especially in his DM (even if it is honest to god not very threatening), it's a joy to play through and he's really satisfying to bring down after the un-fun hell that was DDD YX and the disgusting nonsense that was BBS MF. And, of course, this music adds to it something fierce. Love the muffled effect during his time stops as well, it's just brilliant.
I wanted this version in Melody of Memories.... How is it we get every version of Traverse town but we can't get the other versions of L'impeto Oscuro? Or Sacred Moon? I mean c'mon there was alot missing from KH3, and we can't even get DLC to get the other missing songs

I usually consider remix not so much of a deal like sometimes they are as good as the original sometimes just slightly more but nothing crazy and sometimes they’re even worse than the original, but this, of all KH osts,my god it’s so good I didn’t even realize it in the heat of the battle that it had been remixed but it’s so much better than the original one which was already a work of art itself

Yoko Shimomura is the composer for this. Nobuo Uematsu (mainly composes for the FF series) was not involved at all.
