@@THEVWAUDIELECTRICGUY can you please share why VW bought back your 2023? Where there issues that couldn’t be resolved, or did you get them to buy it back because of the many recalls out there that they still don’t have a fix for?
I leased one (yay Colorado + Federal rebates) about three weeks ago. This car loses on paper to nearly everything else, but it is a joy to drive, comfortable, quiet, well constructed, and a little quirky. It’s big for a Mini but still one of the smallest AWD EVs on sale in the US, while still having decent ground clearance (8”). I’ve been averaging about 3.7 mi/kWh. TBD on DC fast charging experience.
@ Oh is something published that shows it has less? It seems as high as the 2021 CX-5 I had that this replaced, and higher than the Ioniq 5, Mach-E, ID.4. Maybe it’s less than the ICE Countryman but if it is it’s not by much. Normally I wouldn’t care about ground clearance but sometimes you end up on worse roads than anticipated in parts of Colorado.
Good to see your initial thoughts. I purchased one of these a month ago. It’s our third full electric car over the years (after a Tesla and ID4) and at this point with our familiarity with charging infrastructure on road trips the ultimate range/charging speed didn’t matter as much as the fun and quality, and it definitely meets those two requirements.
Love mine. Such a fun ride. Leased it and got a great deal, just under $300/mo. I got the fully spec'd one. I have a 2-mile roundtrip home to work so the range isn't an issue for me. My OS system isn't as laggy as the one tested here. The HUD is optional by the way, you can turn it off and it sends itself back into the dash into its little slot.
I like that it will make a better than average grocery getter for the average family with three kids. Reliable, comfortable, and drives nicely. Not everyone wants, or needs, to go zero to sixty in MINUS 2.1 seconds. Charge at home overnight, comfortable, better than average commuter car. Just enjoy the ride. Looking forward to your Colorado/Wyoming/Nebraska range test.
As someone who was with MINI for 12 years, first mET KC at MOTD when he w a young pup.... I really want to move back to MINI. But I need 250 and decent DCFS with NACS these days. Otherwise... it's so good looking.
Just bought almost the exact same spec last week at our Mini Las Vegas dealer…we have 2 gas cars and 2 EVs (one of which is a VW e-golf). My wife is loving it so far. No concerns about range as we just drive in town 98% of the year.
If you have other cars and you can charge at home, it’s an awesome car, do you mind if I ask what your lease rates were ballpark? We wanted to get something different than a Tesla because Elon is Cray Cray, but we can’t charge it home and we got a brand new model three long range rear wheel drive For $350 a month, $2200 out the door that included taxes, acquisition and disposition fees. 36 months and 15,000 miles a year. The supercharger network is fantastic, and we got 387 miles in mixed driving this week. Out of spec has gotten similar. It’s just so incredibly efficient. The build quality is fantastic as well as the paint quality interior and exterior.
@@MugatuJagjust under $500 per month, 12k miles per year. It has every feature possible so it’s over $50k. Price wasn’t really a concern…more so that my wife liked it. She has had a hard time considering a lot of a different cars…always being indifferent about them. This one she drove for 5 minutes and was like “yes” so it was an easy buy. We do slow charging at home along with the e-golf and it works for our very short commutes.
@2003SCT that's awesome, you seem like a car enthusiast however if you haven't used bimmercode to modify a bunch of settings on your new Mini I highly recommend it. My MINI Countryman should arrive in January. I am replacing a 2021 ID.4, which I loved ... only VW can't even talk to me right now about leasing me a 24 or 25, because they're blocked from selling until they solve the problem of their doors unexpectedly opening. So, what to do? Because we have a narrow parking space at our condo, I don't want to buy anything wider than the ID.4. (I tried out the Ioniq 5, but it did prove to be uncomfortably wide, and I didn't like how it drives.) I had a Volvo EX30 on reservation for more than a year, but its back seat is unusable and there's the problem with the China tariff. I drove and liked the Hyundai Kona EV (I think it drives better than the Ioniq 5), but in terms of quality and overall fun, it would be a come-down from the ID.4. Then there's the MINI, which gives you a quality feel and a real sense of driving pleasure. My wife fell in love with it on first drive, so there you have it. Yes, its range is lousy, but the range of an EV is never longer than the bladder capacity of the person you're driving with, and that's never going to exceed 2.5 hours in my marriage. Yes it's going to be a slow charger, but probably no slower than my current ID.4 at a station offering more than 500A. The lease deal was good, and the dealer actually has folks working there who know something about EVs. Wish me luck!
@@larrybehrendt4256 the video is misleading it does not charge slowly. I get from nothing to 80% in 25 mins which is pretty good. I like the AWD and it is a solid car made with sustainable materials and a less problematic battery. I also had a good experience with the dealer the Hyundai dealer was pushy
Since I already own a mini Cooper SE electric I was anxious to see what this car was like. Thanks for the review. For me I think the charging is not an issue because I charge at home all the time and occasionally make trips. What would be interesting is normally I would do that in my Maki, but if I had one of these as a second car, I would have an option hmmmm What to think
We checked the Countryman E out when we were shopping for a runnaround compact car in germany in spring. For us the space in the back was not good enough while the trunk was bigger than needed and it was 10k more then its contenders. So we got a Smart #1 instead with 200 kw rwd, more range and more space in the backseats.
Nice to see this video in such sunny weather. Sunny weather for a sunny car. Having my birthday at the end of this week, i expect foggy, rainy weather as usual in November, at least in northern Germany. So i am a a little jealous to see Kyle wearing a T-shirt. I drove a lot of "classic" cars, like VW Käfer (Beetle) , Fiat 500, CV2, Ford Escort (YOC 75), Golf I, Renault 4 and 5 but Mini is missing on the list. Will there be a car that bring back this feelings?
I changed my F56 Cooper S E for a Countryman S E Soort L3 last April. It’s also a blast, badged with John Cooper Works badges for the time being until an even more powerful and sporty proper electric JCW arrives in 2025
I picked up an 24se lease last December for stupid cheap as we both work from home. Software and infotainment is about as bad as possible but it's a blast to drive. But for 200$ a month can't really complain much more. Love the mini interior aesthetic though. But boy o boy do these companies have a long ways to go to compete with my model Y for software.
I don't know why everyone is complaining about range in the iX1/Mini Countryman: the battery is 64kWh usable vs 52kWh usable in a Tesla Model Y SR - the consumption is very similar. I'm not hearing much people complaining that the SR is "unusable" - and this has 20% more! I don't see an issue with the battery at all... 🤷🏼♂️
The AWD Model 3 has 341 miles of range and much faster charging is 49K. For 42K the Model 3 RWD has 363 miles of range. The Mini is in the same price range with much less range and performance.
@@joshuarosen465 Well, that's what I mean. The Model 3 RWD (I was referencing the Model Y RWD, or the old name "SR" - as this is a crossover and more comparable with the Mini): Tesla's RWD models have a battery pack of 60kWh and only 52 of them usable. They went for LFP batteries because those are significantly cheaper. But LFP has quite a bit of disadvantages too: slow charge at low temperature, unpredictable battery state of charge, due to that you need to charge the battery to 100% for the BMS to calibrate - but charging to 100% hurts the battery longevity, etc, etc. So yes, Tesla is cheaper and charges quicker. But by HOW MUCH? If my charging on a road trip takes 25 minutes with Tesla and 30 minutes with the Mini - honestly, who cares?.. If I like the design and the interior of the Mini, would I ever look back at those 5 minutes longer a few times a year? Well, probably not. Not everyone likes Tesla.
@@pqvid They don't sell the SR Model 3 anymore, it used Chinese batteries. If Elon rubs you the wrong way then Hyundai/Kia has a bunch of models to choose from in the same price range with over 300 miles of range and faster charging than Tesla, stuck on the CCS network for now but so is the Mini. The only reason to buy the Mini over the others is if you have no plans to roadtrip it. 200 miles of range is perfectly adequate for local driving and if you only charge at home charging speed is a don't care. The issue is that for that price it really should have had 300 miles of range and decent charging. Bjorn has a side by side charging video up today that has this Mini vs the LFP Model 3, still available in Europe, the 3 charges twice as fast as the Mini.
@@joshuarosen465 But that's a different Mini on Bjørn's channel, it's a Cooper and not this Countryman. But anyways, what I mean by that is that you always need to put the numbers in perspective, instead of doing simple 1:1 comparisons. If the charging on the road is going to take me 5 to 10 minutes longer and I only do such trips 2-3 times a year, why would I bother?.. Nobody is saying that Tesla's smaller models are unusable. But if you are roadtripping every week, that's probably not the right car for you. Same for this Mini. As to Kia being cheaper than BMW - well, guess what, ICE Kia is also cheaper than BMW, so I believe BMW uses same pricing strategy here. It's not always simple numbers. Porsche is 100K+ and doesn't include a 360° camera as standard. Almost every BYD car does, at 30% the price of Porsche. Is BYD now a better car than Porsche? As to the range, I'm not completely sure how they test. BMW has 20% larger battery, similar consumption - and almost 30% less range? Well, I somehow do not believe this is true.
Can't have it start in Green mode either..kinda weird. But.. I tend to start in Core or Timeless and move to B-One Pedal for most city driving. Can't disagree MORE with him about the heads up display. It's NOT annoying or intrusive, reflecting off the windshield, susceptible to sun (like our Honda Prologue), etc. It's convenient and easy to quickly glance at. and I disagree about the low charging info. Mine charges from 30-80% on my L2 home charger at 11KW per hour in about 3.5-4 hours. Even on a longer trip, using EV Go or Electrify America..20-25 min to charge it back up is totally acceptable. I DO agree that range is an issue.. at 80%...160-170 isn't that great for a longer trip.
@@tashadarbes1803 yeah.. It's bee a little hard to get information about the right way to charge at home with L2, since the MINI does let us adjust our AC charge rate based on what size breaker your connection is hooked to (standard AC/220 'dryer plug' or dedicated L2 box. I share the 48 amp box we got for our Honda Prologue. It was wired by an authorized company from Honda, direct to a 60amp breaker in our main service box. If I turn the MINI's AC Limit off, it charges at 11kw per. I;ve tried a few experiments trying lower AC Limits (24a, 32a, etc) with the 'assumption' that a 'longer slower charge' is better for the battery'. but. sheeeeesh. it's really hard to get some facts here. If I'm not in a hurry, I'll just set it at 24-32 just to save the draw.. that will drop it down to either 6 or 9kw per hr, .but I think it really doesn't matter. We've taken a few longer trips in it, and EVGo and Electrify America work great so far for a 30-80 charge in 20-25 min. It just cost 3-4 times as much. . Rates where I live at home at approximately $0.10 KW....so it costs me about $3.50 ish to do a charge at home.
I'm glad you mentioned @16:00 that it's made in Leipzig rather than China, though I might've mentioned it earlier. Regardless, to only match Ioniq 5 in range and being worse otherwise is just uncompetitive.
@@simplygregsterev But he's reviewing it in/for the US market, where Chinese manufacture would make it unviable. I was confused why it was even coming here until he mentioned Leipzig.
@@concinnus There is a bit of a stigma around Chinese built cars though. Having one model built there sorta confuses people. But I do agree it’s sorta an uncompetitive product but TBH Mini as always sorta that and I have 3!
They managed to redesign the headlight so it looks like a Kia Niro, with hints of Fiat 600l. I used to really really want a Countryman. Such cool styling. Not only does this not look like a Countryman it does not look like a Mini. The longer BMW owns Mini the more the BMW stylists ruin it. Interior looks nice though. Now the range and charging, wow shockingly bad. Would have been ok about five or six years ago I guess.
Me coming from a family that does multiple road trips per year and don't have multiple ev based off the voltage this would be a miss for us. In combo with the slow charging speeds when you do find a 500 amp charger. Fun car though. Could see this car in our line up if we had multiple ev. For 50k it needs to do more than just drive around the city. Needs to be able to go on a road trip. Doesn't really matter how nice the interior is.
I own a '22 SE, I have owned 5 Minis now including a Countryman. I had one of the new ICE Countryman as a loaner a month ago. Absolutely didn't like the interior or its size. Seats weren't as comfortable as my Iconic level 3 SE. Going to a ICE vehicle for a day just solidified the fact I wouldn't buy a ICE car again.. For $50k I wouldn't even consider this car, I would step into a Model Y or like Kyle said, a performance Model 3 would be even better..
I'm guessing this car does not offer a Tesla Dog Mode equivalent, but does it at least let you leave the car's AC on with doors locked for at least an hour or two?
Thank you so much for this amazing video! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Awesome route planning. Why can’t every EV maker get how critical it is to have this and have these options? Let the driver determine how they drive and charge. Not even Tesla has those options for route planning.
If I could get this at a great lease with barely any funds down... I would consider it over a RWD Long range Tesla model Y... but with 8K dollars all in on a lease on a model Y paying 160 dollars a month for 36 months after 5K down, once again all in 8K, and a 300 mile range... I just can't justify getting the mini... LOL
I feel like cars like these are hard to do an apples to apples comparison. It’s a premium car that carries a premium. Sure a Kia Nero beats a lot of EVs dollar for dollar but the Countryman is a BMW.
I test drove one with my gf a month ago. Interior was really nice and it was surprisingly fun to drive and good handling for the size. But it's too big for a Mini, even compared to the previous gen Countryman, and the looks are much worse than previous Gen as well. Then you consider the 200 mi range and relatively slow charging and it's still essentially a city car only, but without the Mini advantage of being small. A shame because I wanted to love it. She said it in looked like any old soccer mom car. She ended up getting an Ionic 6.
@@nicholaskolnik6458 the video is misleading about the charging. I have one and it takes 25 mins to charge to 80% at fast charging stations. The range is lower because it’s a heavy car. It is more solid and has a better driving experience rather than range
Did you say "Volkswagen group" at about the 37 minute mark? Anyway, I love everything about this car, and it would fit my needs perfectly, but it would have to be $10-12k less expensive for me to even start to cross shop it.
As a former mini countryman owner and SE owner I was highly interested in purchasing the new Countryman EV. Unfortunately, when I saw one for real and tried to build one not only the price was a large deterrent but the configurations available did not allow the selections I wanted. Also the exterior design in person was disappointing - not a mini anymore. Decided to add another Tesla to the garage instead. Really wanted to like the new EV countryman but just doesn't further the Mini experience anymore for me.
I think that’s by design. They can’t compete with US built cars in the buying market so they are going for lease. I could get a “rebate” by leasing but wouldn’t qualify to buy. Leasing took 8k off the price where I live so it’s really 42k
I have been DYING for the next gen Mini EVs. I think it was James May that said everyone should own a Mini at least once in their life. I owned an 04 supercharged mini. It was a true joy in my life, until it needed maintenance haha. Since then, I just said nah to Mini. But with EVs, that kind of goes away. The first gen Mini EV was just way too low of range. Considering the operating voltage though, I might have to pass. Our main car is an EV and our second car is a cheap junker for just when we need it. So we rely on fast DC charging. Especially at 150kw chargers. My EV6 works insanely well on those chargers. So this is just too expensive as a second car and can’t charge quite fast enough to be our primary car. But once you do your full review and we see the 10% challenge, maybe I’ll change my mind!
I feel like this might sell for a time, but how could you justify it the moment the EV3 is available in the states. That car cant get here soon enough :D
I Love MINI Countryman!!! Fun car, good looking car, and the quality is good, however.... FOr that price, Tesla model Y Standard Range or VW ID.4 standard are better buys... Even the EV6 or Ioniq 5 RWD with smaller batteries are better options. Or a Kona? the Ioniq EV? Niro EV? I mean... Yeah, Like the car, not the pricing, though Minis, you always paid the "BMW--err---MINI" badge. Thought the Hardtop Copper SE was a better option. GET ONE OF THOSE! PERFECT city cars! Yeah! Buy a MINI SE Hardtop !
I looked at the cars you mentioned and if you add AWD and longer range they cost more than the Countryman. They have less expensive versions but then you don’t get as much
Seriously considering. Lease deal may be the make or break. It’s a second car. No need for road trips over 100 miles. Always charged at home. I wanted the Cooper SE. I feel this is too big for me. It’s bigger than what I have now and I wanted smaller. Want a premium vehicle. Nothing cheap. Not interested in cheap/plain. I currently drive about 10000 miles per year in an ICE with one or two long road trips. Take those out and a 10k lease is great. Average speed around town is 21mph. Urban dweller. Small driveway. It would be nice if it was cheaper but I really don’t mind the price for a premium vehicle. Certain features are important to me so those will be required. If it has those and a good lease…..I’m in.
Mini Cooper SE is so so fun to drive. Only issue is the 100 mi of range. So you'd think this would be the perfect upgrade with twice that range. But as you say the size, it's just too big. And looks way worse. The interior is great but the Mini charm is lost.
I’m a Cooper SE owner too. I’ve been in mine for a little over 4 years and as it’s my only vehicle, the 100ish mile range is getting pretty aggravating. I wish we had the Cooper electric and Aceman to choose from. More affordable choices, more unique choices.
@ I can live with the range on mine and new 500e. My commute is small but lack of options here in Canada is getting really annoying. I spend a good amount of time in Europe and its excellent there
Not a negative or positive, but I totally thought it was a Kia or Hyundai from the thumbnail until i read the title. It doesnt really have the distinctive look of a Mini anymore

@ well I own over $100,000 in Tesla stock so there’s that…. But Trump has been all over the place, he’s talked shit about EV’s for years, even saying well I guess I have to be for electric vehicles because Elon supports me LMAO and now he wants to get rid of the credit so hey I’ll take it while I can… truth of the matter is, is that any large corporation or company benefits I mean Hyundai and Kia’s and Fords they’re all made in this country most of them especially if you want the tax credit. And they all support the Republicans because they just want tax cuts so they can get $30 millionpay bonuses and buy new private jets
I saw the new Countryman in France back in September. And honestly I don’t like the styling, it doesn’t say Mini brand to me. It just looked like any other generic small SUV.
I don't know if the agressive looking styling on the outside is the right pick for the design, MINIs are beloved because of their "cute" appearance with their round headlights and bubbly shape, this exterior kinda throws me off a bit, looks almost like every other electric crossover out there, but maybe that's what the costumers want? i don't know, not me
I owned a 2009 Mini Cooper S manual. 100% by far the funniest drive i have ever owned. But it was a lemon, and BMW was trying very hard to ignore the issue. Tons of fellow owners of the turbo model had the same experience. BWM is primarily the likely reason Mini brand is having struggles today. My Mini was worst than my 72 MGB in the defect department and that is saying something. Mini might be seeing the same fait as Smart, the investment into the US market might have been the wrong choice for the global health of the product. (Speaking from Canada after watching Smart crater after entering the US when having a well established business model outside the US for years)
Did BMW finally admit that they aren’t bringing the new Cooper electric or the Aceman to the US? I’ve been waiting for a commitment one way or another. If you ask the dealerships they will tell you that BMW is going to shift production from China to Oxford and then import to the USA with UK production beginning in 2026. But I’ve never seen or heard BMW commit to that in public. I think if BMW knows it’s going to import them then they would share their plans and if they aren’t sure they can and still make money….then they just keep quiet. I think the silence is telling me to stop waiting and go buy something else. I just can’t imagine Mini surviving in the US much longer. Perhaps they will move the brand directly onto their BMW dealership lots and just share space until they retire the nameplate in the next 8 to 10 years.
Much prefer the ICE Mild Hybrid version, the EV Countryman ain’t it. I wish they brought in the PHEV model for it as well then I could use both EV and ICE as I like.
I love the looks, I love the interior, and the infotainment. But absolutely Ludacris that they spend all the research and development and all of the marketing for years to put this car out and it has horrible range and charging times for the price and for a 2025 model. The lease rates are probably going to be pretty good. You could lease a BMW IX for $599 a month, fantastic range, beautiful interior, questionable looks on the outside. Even the BMW I4 is significantly more advanced in regards to range and charging. Fail Mini , total fail. I love minis. I’ve had several and I’ve had several, but absolutely someone needs to get fired.
I just leased One. Needs more Range. But love it. I got every Option available including 20 Inch Wheels.

Haha yeah the Mini dealer was way better than Ford or Hyundai when shopping for EVs. They actually seem like they want to sell them.
I agree that if they going to have that low of range then up the voltage for a good enough fast charge.
The way you explain things is amazing!
This mood in this vid is everything!
I usually hate crossovers but I went to the mini dealer to sit in one. Very spunky!
Well done!Keep it up! 😉
Those it have a sunroof? Also roof cover?
@@pqvidBjorn tested the Countryman about 5 weeks ago but only on the 1000km test as he only had it for a couple of days.
I don’t mind the charging speed. You will only get 160 miles of range at the recommended 80% charge.
I agree I get the same rate for fast charging. Isn’t that normal?
I hope you can get your hands on one and do your normal tests like the hogback run and the range test driving it to 0%
I'm glad you mentioned @16:00 that it's made in Leipzig rather than China, though I might've mentioned it earlier. Regardless, to only match Ioniq 5 in range and being worse otherwise is just uncompetitive.
J01 while made in china is beautifully built
@@simplygregsterev But he's reviewing it in/for the US market, where Chinese manufacture would make it unviable. I was confused why it was even coming here until he mentioned Leipzig.
@@concinnus There is a bit of a stigma around Chinese built cars though. Having one model built there sorta confuses people. But I do agree it’s sorta an uncompetitive product but TBH Mini as always sorta that and I have 3!
@@concinnus Ioniq 5 is a lot more expensive than this mini when it has comparable specs
Only if BMW gave us the sister car to this the iX1.
for 2/3 the price :)
what’s the range?
Surely, the Personal setting is for you to set up your personal preferences?
I wish the Countryman was named Mini Traveler.
Hard to tell the size from the video- is this something a person who would be looking at an ex40 might look at too?
I'm guessing this car does not offer a Tesla Dog Mode equivalent, but does it at least let you leave the car's AC on with doors locked for at least an hour or two?
what is the color code?
Thank you so much for this amazing video! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Awesome route planning. Why can’t every EV maker get how critical it is to have this and have these options? Let the driver determine how they drive and charge. Not even Tesla has those options for route planning.
Very sad to see Mini no longer mini at all !
LOL
Why can’t any of these evs have range wtf
I feel like cars like these are hard to do an apples to apples comparison. It’s a premium car that carries a premium. Sure a Kia Nero beats a lot of EVs dollar for dollar but the Countryman is a BMW.
Nice !
Does it come with complimentary HS charging?
the ultimate bourgemobile
From the side, the roofrails/trim make it look unfortunately like a mini hearse. It's an odd thing, but I can't unsee it.
oh. thanks dude. :)
Looks like they finally added a blind spot indicator in the mirrors
Would love to see a feature to filter *out* Electrify America chargers since they've been giving EV road trips a bad rep.
As a brit I find the American lane discipline strange. Do vehicles not pull over to let faster vehicles past?
No… and it is annoying.
"do vehicles not pull over to let faster vehicles past)🤣🤣🤣 "merica
I test drove one with my gf a month ago. Interior was really nice and it was surprisingly fun to drive and good handling for the size. But it's too big for a Mini, even compared to the previous gen Countryman, and the looks are much worse than previous Gen as well. Then you consider the 200 mi range and relatively slow charging and it's still essentially a city car only, but without the Mini advantage of being small. A shame because I wanted to love it. She said it in looked like any old soccer mom car. She ended up getting an Ionic 6.
they took way too long to be delivered :( i had one pre-ordered since last year but unfortunately needed a car before it came out
Could you test the Land Rover Range Rover EV?
Frank Novella will have a heart attack watching this😂
more range and faster charging. sounds a lot like most electric cars out there.
When you lose in EV specs to a front wheel drive BZ4X you know you messed up
This car was on my short list until I heard about the DC fast charging and range.
@@nicholaskolnik6458 the video is misleading about the charging. I have one and it takes 25 mins to charge to 80% at fast charging stations. The range is lower because it’s a heavy car. It is more solid and has a better driving experience rather than range
So are you ready to trade the Smart for a Mini?
Did you say "Volkswagen group" at about the 37 minute mark?
Anyway, I love everything about this car, and it would fit my needs perfectly, but it would have to be $10-12k less expensive for me to even start to cross shop it.
what no hoodie on today lol
$50k? I think Tesla model Y long range model costs $5k less than this.
NGL, it kinda sucks that the Aceman isn’t coming to the U.S. It has the same proportions as the original R60 Countryman.
Good looking car why does everyone have to have a huge glass roof
As a former mini countryman owner and SE owner I was highly interested in purchasing the new Countryman EV. Unfortunately, when I saw one for real and tried to build one not only the price was a large deterrent but the configurations available did not allow the selections I wanted. Also the exterior design in person was disappointing - not a mini anymore. Decided to add another Tesla to the garage instead. Really wanted to like the new EV countryman but just doesn't further the Mini experience anymore for me.
Another EV that won't sell largely because of price. Lease deals is its only chance.
Looks like a mini hearse
212 for 50k is CRAZY
Everything seems too small for the price: range; charging speed; and capacity.
I have had the last gen S variant and want the new one but the EV distance is kind of lame.
Premium price. Budget BEV specs. Just get the ICE JCW and enjoy.
36:45 “ Volkswagen group”? I thought BMW.
Leak
I feel like this might sell for a time, but how could you justify it the moment the EV3 is available in the states. That car cant get here soon enough :D
I can see this as a commuter, but I wouldn't want to only this vehicle and I doubt I'd take it on many trips.
this needs to be like half the price
I debated trading in my 23 Cooper SE but here in Canada the Countryman SE in a spec I wanted was over 70k…. Insanity
I spend a good amount of time in Europe and its excellent there
You'll see them going for $25-30k in a year, which will be great
I really wonder what it would be like owning an EV with an 80 amp on-board charger
Not a negative or positive, but I totally thought it was a Kia or Hyundai from the thumbnail until i read the title.
It doesnt really have the distinctive look of a Mini anymore
If you have other cars and you can charge at home, it’s an awesome car.. We wanted to get something different than a Tesla because Elon is Cray Cray, but we can’t charge it home and we got a brand new 2025 Model 3 long range rear wheel drive For $350 a month, $2200 out the door that included taxes, acquisition and disposition fees. 36 months and 15,000 miles a year. The supercharger network is fantastic, and we got 387 miles in mixed driving this week. Out of spec has gotten similar. It’s just so incredibly efficient. The build quality is fantastic as well as the paint quality interior and exterior. And I think it looks really good.
Trump and the MAGA team thank you for your contribution
Another review of this in the UK shows it can tow 2650lbs.
I wonder how this car compares to the Volvo EX30. Seems to be similar size and price point. Seemed like you liked driving the Volvo until it broke.
The Volvo EX30 is delayed
I don't know if the agressive looking styling on the outside is the right pick for the design, MINIs are beloved because of their "cute" appearance with their round headlights and bubbly shape, this exterior kinda throws me off a bit, looks almost like every other electric crossover out there, but maybe that's what the costumers want? i don't know, not me
Mini‼️🙄🤪😂😱…….Can you say misnomer?!…..you silly kids😎
Forget the Mini…show me those E70 X5’s!
The back of it looks a little bit like a hearse.
(Speaking from Canada after watching Smart crater after entering the US when having a well established business model outside the US for years)
With the amount of range, this should be 25k max! For 50k, most people in this market will just go Tesla!
Shame these never come with ventilated seats.
Range is ok and the price is too high, especially for how many usable kilowatts in the battery pack
Divisive exterior, beautiful interior, crappy charging and range:
Mini has now been completely assimilated into BMW
They are too expensive. 😂
Yeah this better be 25-30k in the used market. Charging is piss poor, range stinks for a 50k vehicle in 2024
I love the looks, I love the interior, and the infotainment.
