One of their best......I never get tired of the song or the meaning....damn....if they aren't the best group from the prime of rock I don't know who is.
Superb Lyrics, massive sounds, i first heard this when i was seven years old, remembering my uncle teach to sing this, as a young boy i have understand what this song is all about and still chills me now whenever i hear this song,
Thank You, Saskatchawan for sharing. Words. Harmonies. Music. Legends. 64, Manchester Brit (hearing Nash’s accent still) , in Northern CA. Trancends decades and Yep, gorgeously, refreshingly, simple staging.
When I heard this song long time ago, I was young and thought that it was sung in a true Cathedral and it was part of an Opera. Graham Nash should have written an Opera based on this Theme between History and present, Past and today and cathedral would have been the climax of the Opera!
When I listen to them, it feels like this is what America could be. Open minded, generous, diverse, compassionate..no guns, no shooting, no people driven to destitution by opiates or medical fees. No destruction of the environment..
I don’t know who you are listening to or reading, but American is the most beautiful country in the world. I have lived my entire 63 years here, and I’ve often given thanks to God for having been so fortunate to have been born here. Yes, there are problems, but they are nothing compared to the incredible blessings. We are the most fortunate people on Earth!!
@@kellylyon7052 Where else have you been in the world? I have lived on the States and in 4 other countries, and visited 3 more. The USA is NOT the best and most beautiful place on earth, for many reasons. 1)It is very beautiful but you ought to remember that beauty is also a matter of taste, and you cannot really argue with taste. 2)US citizens are not treated well. Poverty, homelessness, no universal healthcare. no proper labour laws etc etc.
@@annepoitrineau5650 I have been to Europe a couple of times, and the Caribbean, as well as Tahiti. All beautiful places, but they don’t hold a candle to the United States. Did you know that you don’t have the freedom of speech that we have, as in our first amendment? An awful lot of countries don’t have the right to bear arms, which is our second amendment. I think it’s very important to have an armed citizenry, because governments can be very heavy handed. We have very strong union representation, as well. Very strict labor laws regarding children. All wrapped up in some of the most beautiful landscape on earth! God Bless the U.S.A!!
@@kellylyon7052 You can bear arms in most countries, but it is regulated, and people are not mad enough to want to take their guns to the supermarket. look up how many people are licence paying hunters in france, Switzerland, Canada or Norway for example. All Swiss citizens (I am Swiss) are prt of the militia army (obligatory for men, otional for women). We keep our army gun and ammo at home because we have target practice 2x/year (or at least that was the deal when I was living in Switzerland. I now live in the UK).
Awesome and we with our self absorbed supremacy, believe that on this planet, with so many species are the only chosen. Great tune Mr. Nash. I love the expression and the discordance at the end. Cheers
I loved CSN for most of my adult life, the horror of these old rock stars having their comeuppance with their lifestyles. They were once beautiful, now they are sad wrecks.
Not fading away. Nostalgic. Thank you for this beautiful song and all of your extraordinary voices . ❤️ ❤❤

Write an opera? He's lucky he can play 3 chords. Hardly plays on his Own songs.
@@robbrown6934 It is so easy to criticize anyway, I am happy that this song exists !
Rest easy, Mr. Crosby. You will be missed.
