Exactly what I was looking for. Just started riding again after a 25 year hiatus. Was not sure what was available for an 02 dl1k. Well explained. I look forward to seeing your other vids. Keep up the hard work..
Thanks for subscribing and the nice comments. Looking forward to seeing some of your videos of your trip. Also like the pictures you posted on Instagram of your bike. Very nice.
Thanks for the video Dave. I just baught a DL650 with heated grips, up til now I was a die hard Brake-a-way cruise user - love um. But they don't work with heated grips. This is my first bike with heated grips. Love the heated grips so I was searching for a good Alternative to the Brake-a-way brand. Looks like I've found it.
Adventure Rider, it is completely safe. You can twist the throttle at anytime. There is a slip ring between the grip and the lock that allows you to adjust your speed at any moment.
Guess I replied the wrong way the first time I tried. But thanks again for subscribing and the nice comments. Looking forward to seeing videos of your up coming trip.
Apologies if this sounds a silly question... is it possible to engage the throttle lock by accident ? Say for example im thinking of fitting one on my zx6r and if I was riding quickly through a number of corners when i don't wish to cruise .. could i accidentally engage this throttle lock ? Thanks in advance
Glen Whyte it would be very difficult to engage it by accident. Even if you did, you still can control the throttle up or down with it on. It just puts pressure against the throttle to keep it in place.
Hi Dave, great video! Question...Did you use the two plastic rings that came with it? I just got mine yesterday, took it out of the bag n the rings fell off. Wondering if n how they go on. Thanks.
John, if you haven't figured it out by now the black ring goes between the throttle and the Kaoko throttle lock. I only remember one ring so I'm not sure about a second one. If you give me an email address I could send you a picture if you like.

Timo Y, Thanks for watching and be safe out there.
As @timoy4988 said: this is EXACTLY the in detail video I needed to install the same thing on my Suzuki. Thanks!
You’re welcome! Ride safe!
Thanks for the info, well done. I have the same problem with hands going numb. Ordered one of these the other day.
Very nice review / install of this product. I will definitely be picking one of these up in time for summer riding!
That was an awesome video mate. Former DL1000 rider now on the Busa. Getting one for the beast.

This is going on my Ducati desert sled.

Would they work with cruise control and Barkbusters?
Good stuff here. One question , is this work with handle bar end mirror?
sbs9026 Hope the video helped. It's a real easy install and works well. Glad to hear I might have helped another Vstrom 650 rider.
Great video! Thanks! BTW is this safe? I'm afraid of how this system responds when you want to decelerate in an emergency.
Thanks for watching. See my reply on the channel for everyone to see.
Thanks for the great video Dave. Which windscreen do you have on that bike?
I installed a Puig smoke colored windscreen. You can see the install and test ride videos on DavesWildAdventures.
👍👍👍

I got it, thanks. There's actually two. My setup may be different.
