Great players are just that. Guys like Jordan, Jokic, Lebron, etc. would dominate in any era. Sure, their stat lines might shift a bit, but they'd still be superstars.
That's not to say it isn't fun to argue and debate the details.

Can you imagine if MJ had 5 steps, no pivot & touching his jersey is a foul. Joker would’ve been great in the 90’s.

Remember, they said he couldn’t shoot 3’s & he hit 6 in the very next game. No stat padding, no wide open shots, no wide open lanes & offense could’ve foul. Now offensive fouls don’t exist. They slap defenders away, clear out with off hands &&& they’re TRAVELING

Go look at MJ’s 6 threes in the finals that you mention and you’ll see that all of these shots were open and uncontested… you act like nobody ever got open shots, but the blazers just sat there and gave MJ space when he had the ball to shoot those threes lol
Also, look at MJ’s dunk at 1:14. He literally used his left hand to practically stiff arm the defender down and away… offensive players got away with way more back in the day. This clip is clear proof

    • @neimi911
      @neimi911 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

you do realize the shrug game was during the season that the league decided to move the 3point line? MJ was basically taking long range 2s that season. the season after that, the NBA decided to move the line back again cause they realized it was a mistake (and what a surprise, MJ's 3pt% went down that year). MJ's shot attempts were also wide open.
btw, MJ is on the record, complaining about how difficult it is to play against zone defense and defensive schemes. MJ played in an era of hand checking (which is horrible to play against), and illegal defense rules (you can not float in lanes. you need to be guarding someone).
in short, if you want to take shots on today's game, don't change the facts of what happened back then just to suit your narrative.

Obviously we will never know and it is hard to compare different eras aswell, but considering the physical era, bigs clogging the paint and handchecking defense, compared to todays nba i can see why some people think Michael Jordan would dominate today. Also, lets not forget that Michael Jordan's athletisicm even compared to todays athletes is basically in the top 1% percent of athletes today in my opinion , as much as lebron. So imagine russell westbrook, kd and kawhi in the same player, thats Michael Jordan in my opinion. You are talking about a player who was arguably the best two way player of all time, the most dominant player in nba history, part of two three peats which is incredibly underrated, mvp and dpoy in the same season, 9 all defensive first team, crazy verticals. I mean why wouldnt Michael Jordan be great today right ? 🙌😎✌️😊

I've been watching basketball for 40 years and I've have NEVER seen a player anywhere close to Michael Jordan. I was a die hard fan most of my life and I watched every season from 86 on. I haven't cared much these last 4 or 5 years because the NBA hasn't been worth watching like it once was. I hate leaving comments on TH-cam because there is always some know-it-all who wants to argue. If you weren't old enough to have seen it yourself then keep your mouth shut because your opinion holds no weight. I don't say Jordan is the goat because I never saw Wilt, Russell and some other greats play but I have been watching basketball since 85 and I can say that Michael Jordan is the greatest player of our modern era and I can say that because I saw it live while it was happening. That's not an opinion that is a fact. There are hours and hours and hours of highlights on TH-cam. Just watch and after you watch read all his stats and accolades. You might learn something.

I don’t think so, I don’t think that’s what the numbers would crunch to. The modern NBA has been divided into more ball-dominant and more shots taken then before, even if they don’t fly. Jordan would have a tougher time adjusting to a team that would demand the ball more than in the 90s, when the plan was “Give the ball to MJ”.

  • @milk__teee

It’s so funny that people don’t realize people adapt. You put the powerful players from the 2010s in the 90s and they will adapt. It’s weird that people don’t see that many players do actually read the handbook, and try to see what other players do to help get an advantage over the players and teams.
Do we not remember that one time in the Olympics when LeBron called out a rule that even the refs were not completely sure of?
MJ, jokic, LeBron whoever. Will adapt to what they can do in that era. LeBron is 6’9” and at his heaviest like 240lbs, you think he wouldn’t start just smacking people? You think Jordan wouldn’t start today foul bait? That shit helps you get an advantage of course they are gonna do that shit. Since if you don’t, you let other players have an advantage over you.
Jordan would see what harden was allowed to do and just copy the fuck out of it, same with LeBron he would see Jordan put his shoe in someone’s face and copy that shit.
Someone literally punching you in the 90’s? Then punch back. Jokic fought back against that morris brother, why wouldn’t his ass fight back in the 90’s?

MJ had no equal in the cutthroat 90s and he wld be a GOD in today's candyass TikTok team-hopping superfriends get-together league. Young bloods like to put down those who paved the way for them, that's the culture now, so they say MJs era was filled with plumbers. Yeah right. Plumbers like Charles Barkley, the original Zion minus the hookers, and REAL centres that clogged the paint like Hakeem, David Robinson, Patrick Ewing. And stars that actually grinded it out 82 games instead of load-managing themselves through the regular season, then disappear come playoff time or get mysteriously injured. Again. Y'all Lebron lovers a joke. Bron would still be a star in the 90s but he's not getting his buckets in that era, nor is he getting off so easy for tanking in crunch time. Smh.

If you gonna do what ifs then you can’t have double standards. Lebron can’t adjust to the 90s but MJ would still be a god today? If you take the real Jordan and not a fantasy version of him then he wouldn’t last in today’s league. He’ll be too aggressive on defense which will cause him to foul out early. Or how about the social media era, MJ would get tore apart by the media for the things he do. And the MJ we know is a mid range player. He said himself he wouldn’t change his game so how many shots attempts would he be averaging? Trust me MJ wouldn’t stand alone in todays league
