Great video ! Currently replacing fairings on my 2011 250r inherited it from a very good friend, plastics where all damaged so I painted and replaced them best video around great info.
Watching this like it’s full of amazing information but it’s slow and mono tone... and then out of nowhere “this part was already damaged on the bike... probably for one of the 7 cars that backed into it” lmao got me out of nowhere
I have this exact motorcycle and my bike got dropped accidentally in the driveway and broke the right fairing, right where the turn signal is at. Where can I get it from. I’m seen being sold completely, but I’m just looking for the right side.
Hello. I usually try Partzilla first. They have part diagrams that I consult regularly, even if I'm not buying something, because they label every part with a number, whereas the service manual does not. They're the best place I know to buy new OEM parts. Their shipping is usually pretty fast, 3-7 days for California. You can also try Amazon or Ebay. Ebay is especially good for used OEM parts. The dealerships are a last resort because their prices are sometimes 10 times the market price (e.g. $21 for a valve stem compared to $1.50). I replaced a turn signal on the fairing when someone knocked over my bike (for the fourth time), though I don't have a video on that. It's pretty easy.
Ninja 250 Motorcycle Maintenance thank you for your reply. I have talked with a service representative from revzilla, and they’re telling me that, that one fairing is $600. I’m like what?? Are they really that expensive ?
I’m looking at this coz I wanna make mine a street fighter , how the headlights are on the front fairing annoy me I’m somehow gonna have to take them off
I am having trouble getting a screw to go in on both of the lower holes of the windscreen. Any suggestion? All screws fit, they just don't thread into place.. if that makes any sense.
Sounds like ripped well nuts. All four of those bolts screw into well nuts (rubber with inner metal threading). If the rubber rips, the bolt will not screw into the threading straight. I believe the purpose of the well nuts is to create a tight seal and muffle vibration. Don't worry. Sometimes they rip, possibly because they were screwed in too tightly. You will have to remove the upper fairing (part with the headlights) to get to them (I demonstrate on this video). Of course, you should see if they're ripped before you buy new ones. Try to pull them out of their holes (I mention and show them at 20:15 in this video--circular rubber imbedded into the plastic). They should pop out. I have a video showing how to install a well nut. It's the same part but I demonstrate on the fairing. These well nuts are all over the bike, but it's the same part. Go to BikeBandit-OEM Parts-Kawasaki-Bike Model-Body and Fenders-OEM Parts-Cowling. The part number is 92210A. You can probably get them cheaper at Partzilla. That's were I buy all my OEM parts. But you might be able to find them at a hardware store also. Brand new they look like barrels with a flanged end, but when the bolts screw into them, they contract and look like globs of rubber. There are two of them that you can see clearly for the two upper bolts. If you look at these, you can see that they get stuck in the plastic, so you might have to pull the ripped ones hard to get them out.
I have dropped my key into the bike. One time I dropped the negative battery terminal screw into the air box and had to remove the air filter to get it. Try not to get frustrated. You will drop stuff into the bike. It's inevitable. You might have to remove the battery. I've never done it but it shouldn't be too hard.
thank you for the advice. i've removed the battery and the air filter. I can't find it. it's gone. just as long as it doesn't fall out while i'm riding down the road. I think its in that piece of body work under the passenger seat. which has no opening.
thanks again for the help. I thought i would have to use some kind of magnet eventually. I think I've seen a flexible handled magnetic tip tool some where. will try that.

my factory tool kit, screw driver tip fell into and under the battery compartment. can't find it. any ideas?

It would be in the compartment to the left of the air filter. Try playing around with a magnet. I think that's how I got the screw out.
The air is sucked in from a passage toward the front right of the battery.

Cheeeaa thankss
