We will come back. Bigger and better than ever before. Although it may not be the same, we Abaconians are resilient! Thank you for showing the world some of the progress happening on our island. There is much to be done but we have come so far in one year. #AbacoStrong
This remind me of going through it again it was so scary an cold my ears was going to bleed if my mom didnt give me a piece of tissue I watch my friends got swift away from 8 feet water watched the roofs collapsed and when we where In the eye we went out to find food and other survivors my mom still is tromitize from the storm I will never forget Sunday September 1 2019
Eh, Hope Town doesn't look too bad. The islands are still visitable, the only problem is, there's only like one hotel on the whole island that's open and they're basically charging whatever they want. But I am so sad about these islands now. I literally only just today discovered how much they have to offer. I never knew anything about them, except that there are White people there who are descended from Loyalists. Now when I actually WANT to visit them, the hotels and museums are still closed. Very sad. I hope they will rebuilt and reopen everything soon. Though I do hope they at least leave some damage to stand as a reminder of what was the most devastating weather event in Bahamian history.
Nice video. Hopefully things will get back to 'normal' soon. A boat owner is looking for help doing a hurricane damaged sailboat repair and I was wondering about the conditions on the island. I didn't see a single sailboat around ;-(
It really is sad.. it's one of those things that makes you appreciate how good we have it. The people and the land over there are so beautiful but it doesn't have the support like we do
:( I wanted too go because of my Favorite singer Aaliyah did her last video called rock the boat. And the hotel she stayed in got destroyed so I'm pretty sure it doesn't look the same anymore.
Concrete fails catastrophically. My house post and beam wood SURVIVED INTACT. I built it myself total overkill far above building codes. In marsh harbour 32 feet above MHW. Surge came to my bottom step.

Things are slowly getting there. there are not many sailboats around and most of the efforts are going to rebuild houses and businesses.
@@KaseyDoesThings i live there
why haven't the Bahamian government done anything here, you should see activities of construction going on in places

Nothing looks the same anymore
Is the resort back up and running?
i honestly don't know, but it felt like the restaurant was doing good to be open and accepting guests. not sure about the rest
Looks so lonely......
I’m not a rocket scientist but shouldn’t it be ilegal to build non-concrete housing there? Same for florida. Every year it’s the same thing.
There are much different laws there, unfortunately..
