Just a big ass scooter, but for its time it was great.
The Aprilia 160 or the Burgman can’t hold a candle to this one. Please be practical, who on earth would look at this one with thoughts of carrying bags on the floorboards. This one obviously is targeted for the person who wants a power scooter and is ready to pay a premium.
Ntorq comparisons are also moot, just look at the obvious Varun. Forget power only, 14 inch wheels at both ends, 140 section at the rear, twin shocks at the back with the option of KYB Gas Charged shocks as an official accessory.
This one simply cannot be compared to any of the offerings on the market. It’s like when Yamaha launched the RX 100 way back in 1986.
Nothing else will come close to this one in the segment. One just needs to be ready to pay the price.

@@vroombk sure. This one is obviously not even aimed at the average Activa 6G or the Access buyer. Yamaha have created a brand new segment itself.
Carrying bags on scooter is so overrated. I carry them on my bike 😀. This is an excellent product and my only gripe is that drum brake on rear wheel. Would have loved to see a dual channel ABS as an option.

Bro I have rarely seen ladies riding at 60 on highways in a scooter. Most stay at 40-50 which is good enough but this scooter will be overkill for them.
Yamaha India : XSR 155 for india is not viable because of price concerns. Lets sell FZ with some round headlight instead...

With such powerful engine and long wheelbase, this can be a good tourer scooter too.
But the tank range is very low for touring purpose
@@pradeepb10 lets assume it gives 40 mileage then u can ride without stopping for more than 220 km....that's good for me
@@coolestbadboy5914 make it 30. 40 seems like a stretch for this engine. Because on highways with the speed between 80-100 kmph, the engine is gonna rev high. And expect lesser fuel economy than r15.

..the best Maxi scooter ever to come to India😍😍, a wind screen and a flat floor board would have made it much more practicle for everyday use eg. For carrying lpg cylinder, grocery items etc.😥😥

Have been waiting for years for maxi scooter segment to open in India! Had expectations form Honda and Suzuki, But hats off to Yamaha , they dared to venture in! I am buying this. I am sure there are many like me who prefer power and practicality at same time. I am riding a Honda aviator from past 12 years and wanted to change only when there was a maxi scooter, which could turn head when driven on the roads! Aviator when launched was a segment 1st with disc brake, Telescopic suspension, 12" alloy wheels and a different look!
Well, I dont see this as a maxi scooter but keeping in mind the small tank, R15 derived engine and wider wheel size, this definitely has the potential to be termed as the new "pocket rocket" !
Yamaha Aerox 155 looks so comfortable. The seat, suspension is just perfect.

There is a great chance that aerox will fail because in india people are more pratical oriented. They don't require performance oriented vehicles that is why we don't have any maxi scooter and very few performance oriented 150 cc bikes even though we are rich as compared to some other asian countries where these kind of bikes are available.

I am that your dream scooter has arrived at our Indian shores but maxi Scooters are scooter with engine bigger than 400cc. For eg: bmw c400 x which will come to India within next year

145 mm don't cause any problem as Ray zr ,fascino all are same ..if mileage is between 45-50 km in city then 5.5 lite is enough..if this scooter makes impact in the market Honda may then introduce adv150 off road scooter ..as this type scooter fuel tank is in front section weight distribution is perfect comparing to conventional scooter and large fat tyre also help in stability..infact it is more safer option than bike in city commuting and highway ride due to autogear function..
Ntorq and aerox... yeah right... even if a 125 aerox comes it should smoke the ntorq easily... considering its spec and the fact that it has an R series lineage and that 38 years of racing small capacity bikes won't be enough for tvs to come to the levels of yamaha.
Dose we get ladies foot rest as accessory?

Now fzs v3 need some upgrades, especially power to 16bhp n torque can be the same to match up with Apache Rtr 1604v, Pulsar Ns 160 and Hero Xtreme 160R.
Next fx will be 148cc 10bhp because its yamaha

Thank you Varun for talking about fuel tank capacity atlast someone has. It should atleast have had 7litre of tank. 5.5 litre is the deal breaker for me. Let's hope it will give good mileage coz if It is same engine of R15 I doubt good mileage so doubtful about long trips without stopping frequently to refuel.
i have seen some aftermarket fuel tank being installed in Aerox thiland capacity of 7ltr
The review videos from the Philippines mention 48-52 kmpl average if the scooter is not ridden aggressively.
@@himu533290 the aerox is an household name there but it's new in India so I don't think so we will have that soon.
@@krunx2360 yes I was also checking those videos but people also said 25kmpl to 30 kmpl. so if you consider that then it is just around 150km range in full tank. Hence atleast it should have had 7ltr tank. But let's wait for proper reviews.

Hell, I am just happy somebody showed the guts to launch a semi maxi scooter. Suzuki and Aprilia are a shame on that segment. Honda less said the better. I hope this kick starts that segment and we hopefully will see it moving in the right direction. TVS, you game?
Can we compare it to the ather 450x , considering this would be a performance scooter , obviously its going to faster and more agile than ntorq or aprilia.
Yamaha is offering gas charged shocks too as an official accessory. Please shed light and how that performs too in the road test if possible.
R u willing to shed out another 17k for them I wouldn't would rather get them from abroad for cheap
