- If you've been eyeing the new Yamaha Aerox, here are 5 things you need to know! The Aerox is a sporty scooter by all means and in that sense, it loses some of its utility. The suspension is tuned to suit its character but doesn't really make it unrideable on the daily grind. You do lose out on some floorboard space, but that's almost made up for by the huge underseat storage. The fuel efficiency isn't bad either but don't expect it to be as frugal as some of the more commuter-friendly scooters. That said, the Aerox 155 is super easy and fun to ride. @@naveenv023 Hi. I booked on 19 Nov with Moto World at Bommasandra Chandapura. Wanted the Grey Vermilion, but that stock was going to come to this dealer only in middle of January. Dealer updated that he has Racing Blue and went for it.
Well, I've already purchased the Aerox, and yes - I am satisfied.
I was looking for a machine that will give me the performance of a bike and convenience of a scooter at the same time. I zeroed in on Aerox, because it ticks almost all the boxes and there isn't anything else like it in our market.
First, I took a test ride, had to make sure it's stiff suspension will not give me back pain. Then waited for almost a month to get it delivered. Now, I've been using it for a week and I must say, Yamaha has done a great job.
There are pros and cons, but if you are particular about what you expect from your machine, then this is the one for you.
How is the suspension for daily city commute sir? Will it make you annoyed sometimes?
Yes the suspension is bit annoying while riding in the city., Even small potholes feels on our back..
@@Ok-zb6cv , if there are a lot of potholes in the road, then you'll have to ride it like any other scooter. On a good surface, it rides like a bike.

this Aerox, and N-Max, are 2 most popular scooters in Indonesia. both share the same engine and base, but different looks.
you go with the Aerox for a sporty vibe, and N-Max for the more elegant vibe.

There's a larger capacity 7.5 litre aftermarket tank available in Malaysian and Indonesian markets. Also plenty of performance accessories and body parts for mods.

About that After market suspension, could you guys let us know how much of a difference it makes regards to the ride quality compared to the conventional setup if anyone has installed 🤔
Yamaha offers the new suspension as an official replecement for 17k, but they're not available at all yet
Yamaha's done it again!!! Just as they revolutionized the 150cc geared motorcycle segment with the FZ, they have now zeroed in on the untapped Sport Scooter segment in the country - for those who bring up the Aprilia SR twins I can only say one thing - Value For Money. Looking forward to how TVS will answer this gauntlet thrown down by Yamaha. Creon design with a retuned N-Torq engine maybe? Too mouthwatering to even think of! Can't wait to see Varun and Shumi doing a compare shootout of this and the N-Torq/Aprilia SR 160.

Would 145 mm ground clearance less for a sports scooter ?, doesn’t it brush the ground as it glides…. Can it be taken for a bit of off roading…. Does tyres support ?,
Looks like a good replacement for a motorcycle. This step through is much more practical and convenient than a motorcycle.

There are some good scooters in the market, such as Aprilia 160 models, and suzuki Bergman. But, in terms of performance, nothing is close to the aerox as of this moment. It's a great launch by yamaha, and I think it will reign supreme in its category for quite some time.

I've been waiting for the scooter in Mumbai for more than 2 and a half months, I don't even have an idea of when I am to expect the scooter.
This hurts because I travel to work everyday and it's become extremely tough.
Yamaha brand is experiencing some chip shortage on every motorcycles. Because chip availability is now very dull.

There are two pegs/hooks below the seat. Your helmet strap can be passed over that and then seat is closed. So your helmet stays secure too.
Good video team.. just a small observation.. the point where you speak about fuel efficiency, the numbers seems to be mixed between highway and city...

Also, the numbers aren't mixed though. The Aerox is in the economical rev range in the city. Not at highway speeds. Hence the lower FE on the highway.

Oh no. It is correct. So Aerox sits in the economical rev range at urban speeds, not at highway speeds. Hence the drop in highway FE.

In terms of performance, so much better! However, the Activa is more utilitarian.

Pls check again and notice the obstacles/throttling/traffic stops between highway riding & city riding 🙂
There mileage claiming is big joke usually it gives more in highway not in city
R15 vva engine also gives amazing mileage in City compared to Highway. This engine is more fuel efficient when you're not triggering vva rpm which is usually above 6-7k and aerox also has auto on off technology which will aid in more fuel efficiency.
I get about 42-45(seen as high as 52 when I am being very easy with the throttle) in City easily on my R15 and it comes down to as low as 30-33 if I'm pushing more than 120 or 130 on highways. If kept under 100, it should give 40 or above. 75-90 will get you 45 or more on highways too.
Only 1 thing you need to know. If you have the money just get it. Trust me.

Helpful and unbiased review as always @powerdrift. I just received my Racing Blue Aerox in Bangalore a few hours earlier today. Absolutely delighted with the package.
I am a 6 footer with longer legs than the general population yet am able to ride it comfortably. Seating ergonomics was my main concern before booking this, but no worries on that account.
Initial 27 km run driven conservatively because of the running in period of first 1000 km - 47 km/L with mix of city roads, a bit of traffic, and the famed broken roads and broken speed breakers of Bangalore. Conservative riding for long journeys on highways will definitely give upwards of 55 km/L after the first service.
I think the helmet holding hooks below the front part of the seat can be used to hang a bag holding about 1 to 1.5 kg on either side for some grocery runs in addition to the under seat storage.
The suspension setup is stiffer in comparison to your regular commuter scooter, but then this is no commuter scooter. This is by design to offer great rides on high speed runs and for the riding dynamics.
Riding ergonomics are great and it just takes a small twist of the throttle to zip away.
The start-stop system and the starter motor generator work great.
Looking forwards to many miles on highways as well as in the city.
...at the end of the day , it is just a scooter meant for carrying every day stuff like groceries , lpg cylinder etc. Without a flat floor board it is of no good use !!...😥😥

Reviewers should stop calling it sport scooter. This is essentially an activa of Thailand and other SEA nations.
Secondly, there are tons of aftermarket bolt on parts like 8ltr tank to rear disk mod.
