I am a GT3 guy too but I don't understand the stupidity of such people at all. He was clearly slower and overdriven his car. It was a matter of time for him to crash somewhere.
Today I Learned: iRacing Brazilians have extremely thin skins.
Real talk, what is it with Brazilians and being the worst people in video games? I know it's not all of them, but it happens enough to the point where if I hear someone's from Brazil, I'm instantly weary.
That being said, if you're Brazilian and turn out to be cool, I'm happy to eat my words.

I can't recall ever having trouble with Brazilians in iRacing or games, Italians have always been the worst I have encountered.

Reading the comments, all I'll say on the matter is: I think people get too easily offended nowadays. I honestly don't think EB is racist. 1) Racism is malicious and I don't believe for one second there was any malice behind what was said. 2) It was a reference to a prior incident. 3) Acknowledging and referencing a stereotype in humour does not mean it reflects one's own views.
For example, I live on a small island and there are plenty of jokes that people could make at our expense. One of them would be (because it appears to someone from abroad that everyone knows each other here) everybody here is inbred. My response to that would be "Well at least I'm a good swimmer, and besides, my sister is fucking hot".

Ive only ever filed one protest, and he got banned for a couple of weeks (he told me so in a very angry PM lol). If there is obvious intent, they'll punish - but a couple weeks ban likely isnt going to make them change their behaviour.

It's grease and rubber build up on the windscreen. If you use the wipers it's just going to smear and you'll see even less than you could before.

in my experience, Brazilian drivers are more aggressive on iRacing. I've had some great races with Brazilians also, but stereotypes become stereotypes for a reason.

Just to add some data to the conversation... Look at the automotive death rate per capita in Brazil compared to USA, UK, Austrlia and Europe. USA is 10 deaths per 100000 UK is about 3. Brazil is 23 per 100000. Australia is about 5.
Maybe that has something to do with the stereotype that Brazilians are aggressive drivers an cause more wrecks than other demographics on iRacing.

Like you said, that's GT3 for you. I stopped playing GT3 because of things like this. The last straw was when we were doing the lap before the green light. Another driver was doing his swerving thing to warm up his tires which I don't mind at all, do what you do right? Well, he was right behind me and about 15 secs before the green light he started doing it again. Long story short, he drove right in to me while swerving, even though he was behind me. He protested me for some weird reason.
Anyways, I went and did a season in GT1 after that and yeah, totally different type of maturity there. Still had you shenanigans as you know, but in general it was just a better atmosphere. I miss IRacing a lot. I had to stop and sell my g27 due to financial reasons. Thankfully I'm back on my feet and now I'm saving for another wheel, preferably an upgrade from a g27, and want to get back into IRacing this Spring. Thanks for posting your vids, been watching them for a few years now.

At least 90% of the incidents I get caught up in during road races are caused by someone with 3 names or more, if you get what I'm saying.
I've learned to never trust a driver with a Hispanic name, because they (not all, few bad apples ruin the bunch) just seem to have no respect on the track, and are clueless of everybody around them.
Sounds racist but it's the truth in iRacing.

You drive so smooth Empty Box. I'm so all over the road in every damn game it gets frustrating. My outlook on the whole sim racing is have fun. You don't need to be a try hard and go ballistic trying to win every race. I just wanna be smooth, efficient and safe. That's fun to me.

Also, it seems like the driving standards in ProtoGT have been horrendous lately. I don't know if it's because I'm only good enough for bottom split, or because the GT1 cars are quite difficult to get the hang of and that's why there are way too many prototypes that want to GT3. Anyways, I'm just mad that I couldn't put an incident-free ProtoGT race together since october or so.

It was Diogo's error that lead to him getting punted by Matt. He was on the breaks too late and Matt had nowhere to go and no time to react. These things happen though - it is GT3 after all - but Diogo's behaviour afterwards in sending a load of messages was uncalled for. Let the race end and then share your opinions.
Funniest part? The Audi driver who told the Mclaren driver who braked into your line to review his driving, ending up bumping out clean off the track! I know what series to be careful in when I reach the apropriate class, thanks! :)

Club Brazil's logo just needs to be changed to a picture of Senna's helmet or maybe just his face. Almost every single one of those drivers I've come across, road or oval, drives like they own the entire track.

I totally agree with you on this, but I don't think it was a case of prejudice about one nationality as much as it was a motorsport joke. Like how all Finnish people are good at rallying, or how Americans can't turn right. I think it was said in that kind of way. Honestly, I don't know and you have a good overall point, but that's how it came across to me.
I can see your point, +Alex Sinclair, but it's different to say that americans can't turn right as a joke because of their tradition in nascar and indycar, saying that a particular nationality should be ghosted while a lap down out of 1 driver that messed up in that situation is just not right. I still agree that Matt should file a protest against Marcio and I'm still not offended by the title, although it was uncalled for.

With iRacing's damage model it's really all about hitting squarely. If you get whacked from behind or in front (providing it doesn't blow the engine) generally you are fine, if you get the sides you are hosed with the lightest of brushes. LOL

That driver that hit you currently has a 1.88 SR and has lost licenses. Literally Fast and Furious. Wow. And look at me wanted to participate in that series. GT3 will GT3...(Rufs are correctly classes as D license I believe.)

The table clamp works well enough, I just forgot to clamp them down tight. I've literally have only had it happen two or three times now with the Fanatec stuff - though both "on camera". I put this down to pre race haste in both cases.
Logitech stuff... well... their clamps suck. LOL
I'll still be doing a review. I'm still not fully comfortable with them in regards to RFB HnT so I'm holding off until I feel confident with that, plus there is no need for me to rush.
You will always have my attention with GT3, so much entertainment.

This is why it's great to have real names: we know who you are and you are directly responsible for your actions!
If I ever see a Brazilian in my split, I know to look out for them. Often they are fast, wildly inconsistent and overly aggressive. I quite like driving up against the guys from East Asia, they are usually fast and spend a good amount of time setting up their car. Us Aussies tend to be the most sportsmanlike and generally considerate when driving close, but also get loudest on the voice chat when we feel someone has stuffed us over.
Keep in mind these are generalizations. There are plenty of good Brazilian drivers out there. But its that minority who make an entire club in iRacing look bad.
It gets me sad to see this things happen. I don't have 100 races on iRacing yet and the same thing happened to me.
Racing the mx5 at limerock just got on the inside of someone before the breaking zone, took the inside line, the guy hit me from the outside and went straght to the wall. After that in the same race he was a lap down and he showed the exact same behavior tha marcio showed. He let the car in front of me pass(and we were fighting for position) and started to block shamellesly. But I managed to took the inside eventually and he did the same as before, hiting me from the outside and going straight to the wall.
Next race he tried to take me out twice until he got it.
I filed a protest but nothing happend.
The guy is brazilian. But so am I.

A few years ago when i did trucks oval and some guy did a late pit entry, which is not the correct way to enter pits, and hit my front right and caused unecessary damage to my car. I reported that because everyone else knew how to enter the pits correctly and the whole situation could have been avoided if he did it the correct way. (even better it was under safety car)
I dont know the real life rules for pit stops but if it had happened in real life it could have been dangerous to both drivers let alone the pitcrews... but iracing didnt care. Despite it being under the frekking safety car.... i was quite mad about the situation since we had driven an entire lap at safety speeds so there was absolutely no reason for it to be a racing incident. :(
I assume he swept down the track to enter the pits at the last minute? In real life they have "the commitment cone" which is ahead of where iRacing's "pit begin" cones are to prevent this, and Indycar generally mandates use of the apron in T3+4 to achieve the same thing.
It happens, though. I wish we had the same rules the real world does, but to help make sure it doesn't happen again make sure you crowd to the inside of the track. It's not your problem, but it's also something the protest system can't "fix" so it's best to make sure you protected yourself. :)

it was on one of those tracks where you have the long inroad into pits and then theres grass until the main straight begins, theres very small gap between the grass and the wall.

yeah regarding getting drilled yes I have had that happen all too often in GT 3 class particularly when passing lapped traffic. I have suspected the offenders are team mates or acquaintances of drivers who we are racing against hence I do a lot of practice sessions and rarely enter a GT3 race. Time iracing screened these people- I have never seen a result from a protest addressing issues just like this and have been racing since December 2013.

I'm honestly kinda disappointed in iRacing, I resigned-up due to the people I race with in LFS switching over and we are doing the skippy and in the 3 out of 4 races I've done I have been taken out, its kinda ridiculous.
It seems that the white Audi's were causing a lot of trouble with their driving!
I had a guy wait along the side of the road the pulled out into my racing line in retaliation for something that I have no idea what.

Genuine question Matt, why do you still race GT3? The cars are nice but the community is easily one of the worst in all of iRacing. At least with C Fixed, you can count on there being a certain level of respect between everyone. GT3, more than any of the other series, seems to attract every reckless driver out there
I gave up on it a while back simply because it was getting too hard to finish a race with all the carnage out there
IMO C Fixed is the worst. At least GT3 sees more than 50% of the laps under green flag racing!
A) I'm a glutton for punishment.
B) It's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get
C) The races are a great demonstration of how driving smart will do you better than being a fast idiot
D) It's popular so it's easy to find a race as I don't race on a schedule
E) The races are generally pretty exciting unless the field gets decimated by a GT3 driver GT3ing a bit too hard.
F) It has the best race setup IMO with the 40 minute + pitstop dealio
G) GT1 was moved to Proto GT which doesn't have the participation (I was actually thinking of driving the DBR9 this season, then I remembered they moved GT1 into ProtoGT, which while a fun series I've run the past I just don't have the same interest or time I used to)
H) It's iRacing's little pet on the road side of things, for better or worse.
I) I'm not comfortable enough yet HnTing with the new pedals to run Kamel GT.
Cautions do suck, that's a good point. It really differs from track to track and race to race. I don't mind a healthy discussion mid-caution at Iowa but a full-blown argument at Indy is pure hell and the reason the mute button is there.
Being able to race and usually having the races split is a big plus, and I'll admit it was entertaining if not infuriating. Just hope your SR doesn't take too big of a hit lol

Two racers of #4Nerds team were racing with Matt Orr probably in the same day of this recording. One was rammed form behind on the alignment lap, and other was dive bombed.
Both were hit by non-brazilians.
Discourses blaming Brazilian in general are awful because they treat them as the source of problems that are not exclusive from them and are, in essence, hate speechs.

I wonder, what if there was an average incident point threshold that should be on iRacing's promotion system so if you average >12 a race then you don't get promoted til it drops to say 6/7? Allows for off tracks that way.
inc per race is a meaningless stat because races are varying in length. 12 incidents in a 20 minute sprint race is very different than 12 incidents in a 3 hour endurance event. That is exactly the reason the Safety Rating system is based on inc per corner. It works for all types of races.

Not saying he's not lying about the computer froze excuse but since the update 3 separate races I have had the blue screen of death during a race. I I've watched the replays and your car just disappears since you disconnect. However he kept going so his computer did not crash. I can play assetto corsa for hours and my pc doesn't crash so it's something with iRacing not running right on my machine. Has anyone else had this problem since the update?
He lied, he got busted for wrecking me out because the McLaren guy - his team mate - was pissed he wrecked himself.
