    speaking on a personal level, as someone who owns a set of vors and has for the past 5 years now this speaks loudly, with that being said as much as myself would love to own a set of work wheels its hard to justify spending more on wheels than i did for the entire car they would be going on. while just a few years ago you'd never see anyone proudly supporting those brands they've never done myself wrong, on other hand just like you've mentioned I've had terrible experiences with cheap tires which almost left me stranded on the side of the road. this video hits the nail right on the head and that's exactly why i support martiniworks, true enthusiast of all levels of the game.

      That's exactly why we are doing what we're doing. We get it. Not everyone can or wants to spend five figures on car parts, and it's completely ridiculous to assume folks should do that. For us, it's about transparency and sharing our opinion on what we know are the right ways to save money vs. not.
      Appreciate this comment and thank you for the support!

    I am as you Alex, I LOVE wheels as well.
    I always look up the brand before I even buy something to my car, does it have history it's more peace of a mind here as well.
    I prefer genuine as better quality.
    Sure I maybe want michelin tires, but I still went with Toyo since I have run almost all my cars on Toyo and never had any issues at all :)
    And for winter tires I went with Nokian that are made for our weather here.

    My Econoline is a rolling hardware store on brand new Continentals. You probably won't need brand new A/T if you're not pulling trailers. Do ensure your tires are supple with lots of tread depth and your wheels spin true.

  • @Novafro
    @Novafro 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    I'mma say this, cuz I'm probably gonna snag my wheels from you when I can afford them.
    A while back (couple months) he said "what can we do better? How can we improve? "
    I wrote a comment saying, my car wasn't on the list. Now its on the list, along with a number of others that at the time were seemingly overlooked.
    Looking forward to seeing more growth!

    So long as you know how the part works, the seller's a reliable and professional person, and it isn't Temu, there's no problem with getting knock off parts that actually work on eBay.

    My girlfriend wanted white te37 look wheels for her STI. She went for the av-06 for the price point. That car never see track she does some 2-3 gears pull from time to time and that pretty much it. Went with the Conti DW-06. Perfect match for what she does with a good treadware. So "cheaper" on the wheels and affordable on the tire that was my 2c, REPPPPP💪
    Nice video, you are right things will get very interesting as a price point perspective🤑

    I love this video and the new series. The only part that hurt me was around the 5:30 mark stating people who stand behind the brand. I reached out to fitment (i know it was a different entity and not you back then) but my aodhan wheels came damaged from clamps when the tires got put on from the combined package I know they are cheaper wheels but if felt like a burn after I saved up, and all I got was a bottle of soap and a sorry. I wouldn't buy from fitment again but martini works and fitment are a useful tool for finding fitment and I love the videos.

    I need new tires for my 08 Volvo xc 90. Mostly highway use, but i use it on our ranch because the "seasonal roads" have 6" deep mud sometimes. Any recommendations or brands to avoid?

    • @MartiniWorksOfficial
      @MartiniWorksOfficial  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Best brand would probably be Michelin Pilot Sport AS, followed by Continental Pure Contact LS, and then finally a Yokohama all season of any kind!
      I would avoid anything built strictly for summer or with a lower sidewall design.

    Question, aodhan ds08,ds09 and ds-x is not rotary forged? On your website it doesn't say but aodhan website says dual phase forged "rotary forged"!? I bought a set of aodhan ds08 and the wheels feels lighter to low pressure cast wheels.

    • @MartiniWorksOfficial

    Exhaust. I’m looking for headers for my corvette. It’s just bent piping. Fitment and quality welds is what you’re paying for with the expensive parts. But if I have an exhaust shop install them and fix any issues they may have then it’s still cheaper buying the $600 headers vs the $1300 headers.

    • @MartiniWorksOfficial
      @MartiniWorksOfficial  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It definitely can be, but then you're paying for the workaround right? To some, that's easy and they're going to go that route. For others, not so much. Either they don't have the time, the connection, or the patience to deal with it so they'd rather spend more on the peace of mind it provides.
      I'd rather spend more on exhaust components for peace of mind than on wheels that'll never see a track day. - Alex

    All I'm going to say is for US ppl, never buy JDM parts from US companies. Buy direct from Japan. They can be as much as 40% cheaper. This includes Authorized Dealers. You will also get your items way faster. Learned this the hard way.

    • @sonicallstarify
      @sonicallstarify 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Do some Japanese companies restrict doing business with Americans?

    • @twistedbdo5755
      @twistedbdo5755 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @sonicallstarify 99% of the companies are fine with it. Typically the ones that won't sell to the USA from my experience are smaller shops. It's likely due to representation for time attack.The only shop I was denied from purchasing from was Rush Factory. I even bought things from Phoenix Power before. Also it depends on items (IE: JDM harnesses are not typically sold to the US). You go through a middle man that lives or have a shop Japan so you typically don't need to communicate with the company. Most bigger companies are targeting overseas (IE Varis, Topsecret, HKS voltex, etc). But when they do, they also jack up the price compared to directly shipped from Japan 🙂. Just compare Advan wheels on their US website vs what they sell in Japan

    • @sonicallstarify
      @sonicallstarify 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @twistedbdo5755 interesting, I wonder what does representation at TA's got to do with overseas sales. I asked caused I remember long ago that certain cars(like the Hakosuka) aren't allowed to be sold to foreigners unless they pass an interview. I just know Japan can be picky at times

      American company but tires are made overseas (nearly all are). I had a very BRIEF experience with them and they did okay, nothing crazy. I have more experience on the Kenda KR20A, Nexen SU1, and Ironman Move 3 and would choose those instead if I had to!

    $ on buying OEM rims that are forged / or not, get them sandblasted and powder coated.

    I decided to "cheap out" on my headlights and three years later one of them has water in it, they were really cool for a while and saved me a lot of money but now I have regrets.... I now need to find the time in the freezing midwest to pull it and attempt to rebake them. I contacted the manufacturer and it's been radio silence despite, calling and emailing multiple times. Listen to the feedback and reviews folks and don't buy Spyder headlights :(
