Yes, I saw that and the thing is - Witherspoon was pretty much called in last minute, obviously not in any peak shape, I got the impression if 'Spoon had actually had a few months of serious training for Usyk that may well have been quite a bit upset.

Usyk is 6’3” and the same size as Ali....He isn’t THAT small. He’ll keep Chisora at the end of his punches and box to a UD...
Heavyweights back then were a lot smaller and even then Ali weighed much more than Usyk and was naturally bigger.

Honestly they say heavy weights are a lot bigger now but honestly if you look at the fighter's, there is a handful of above 6' 4. That's not really an entire division of men averaging a size of 6'6 or 6'7, 6'8 is it? There were taller guys back in the day as well like Cooney and Ernie Terrell etc so it isn't a new thing. I think now days because of the dominance of the Klitschko s you see a lot of tall fellas pushed into boxing simply because of their height where as back in the day they were perhaps seen as to tall, too heavy and too clumsy to tackle the Ali's and the Norton's and the Frazier's and Holme's. Plenty of shorter fighters have destroyed taller guys just like Haye did with Valuev so the whole point of size is a bit over blown at times.

Hmmm just to add some context. Joyce put on gloves for the first time 6 years before that fight. Usyk went on to turn pro later on that year after that fight and had been boxing most of his life, having 11 years experience when he took on the Joyce fight.
Truly outboxed Joyce for sure but that's hardly surprising - Joyce was barely even an ametuer, almost a beginner really!
And if you watch it, when Joyce did clip him - he ran like hell.
Not taking anything away from Usik, his record speaks for itself but this is the heavyweight division, let's see what happens if he's tagged a few times!

What they need to do to counter what the others game plan is? It’s like if England v Germany play football and the commentator spends 90 mins telling us about 2 world wars and 1966 World Cup ... I’d rather they talk about what is happening on the pitch and what needs to happen to turn the game around etc

They say that every time he steps in the ring but Del is just a punch bag who will walk forward and be picked off until the ref stops it or it is a wide decision. Haye has to big the fight up because honesty does not sell the fight.
"Derek has the perfect style" - come on Dave, I don't know how you can keep your laugh in with that one. The perfect style to stand there and get his face punched off.
Derek is going to get hit but so is Usyk. His defense is good but not great. Even Chazz Witherspoon was catching him, Bellew was outboxing him before he gassed and many thought Breidis beat him. Usyk is beatable but I don't know if Chisora is the man to do it. I think if Chisora manages to hurt Usyk, I can see Usyk trying to go to war with Derek and temporarily abandoning some of his boxing ability which will be Chisora's moment to try to stop him. That is Derek's best bet I think - get Usyk into a dog fight like Breidis did, at least at some points in the fight, and then try to capitalize as best he can.

I agree with this - War Chisora, if he comes in fast, somewhere near his peak, he comes out absolutely ripping into Usyk with maximum HW powerblasting then it could be big trouble for Usyk who isn't made for that, he isn't made to get clobbered on against ropes or corners.

If Derek is in shape this will be interesting, Derek has a good chance, he should drag usyk in to a brawl early on imo and bet on getting the knockout in under six rounds, the longer the fight goes the more that favours the slick boxing skills of usyk, usyk won't ever have been hit this hard as a pro, I think this fight is far more evenly matched than many people think.

I reckon Chisora to Usyk could very well be Teofimo to Lomechenko. Chisora is gonna be a real handful and Usyk may lack the power. Of course Teofimo got the moves too but if Usyk'd plan is to dosge bullets for 12 rounds and pepper punch - Chisora could just be too much.
Remember when people thought Bellew had a good chance against Uysk, then was made to look like a novice... Getting the same vibes for this clash.

Intriguing fight. If Derek can catch him once or twice, this fight will become very interesting. Not sure if Usyk has been hit properly by a natural heavy weight yet.
Speed is power. Dereck will cause problems early on with his maul type approach, but the speed of Usyk in both hands and feet will be too much. Late stoppage or points depending if Usyk wants to make a statement or just want the W.

Thing I've noticed with usyk and lomachencho both trained in the same gym ,they take time in there fights and take it to opponents in the second half of fights ,now in the heavyweight division you cant do that and can find yourself sparked out inside 4

Chisora has the experience and power to give Usyk problems. That been said, Usyk is fast and accurate, this is the fight to watch how good both truly are.
Usyk showed his experience and talents against Bellew and why he is a multi gold medalist. Chisora has got things Usyk hasn't seen or felt before. If Chisora catches Usyk we'll see what he's made of and if he can handle the power at heavyweight or get up from a heavy knockdown.

This is a big test for Usyk at Heavyweight no question.
Because usyk is a pure boxer, I definitely favor him in this fight. When it comes to skill, usyk definitely has the edge in this fight. But, it only takes one punch. And, Derek hits like a truck, and has a steel chin. plus, he is super durable, and has a great gas tank. It would tickle me pink if Derek wins this fight.. but, it is a long shot. Good luck, del boy!
