I failed my driving test in midland cause I went over the solid white line, but it wasn't fair, because if I didn't go over the solid white line, I would have hit the car who had their nose sticking out onto my lane, so I'm guessing getting my bumper torn off wouldn't been better then going over a line, I hope this doesn't happen again
Might coause another problem on the other side, maybe you should have stopped. Maybe the assesor would like to tell you on his mind that it might be a good idea to ram the car cause you were on the right lane rather than it cost you to make an accident
I've been driving here for about 6 months and I just got my assessment today and successfully got approved, so I'll have my driver's license transfer from overseas, thanks to your videos and tips! ❤
Hi, I've been watching all your videos and reading the comments too but I just have a couple things I would like to seek clarification on if you have the answers :) 1. When reverse bay parking to either the LH side or RH side you use the left indicator (no matter the side) when slowing down getting in position to perform the park, then after stopping and before starting to reverse into the spot you turn the indicator off... is this correct? 2. When leaving a driveway you don't indicate if reversing out, but you do indicate if moving out forwards? 3. When asked to park for "stopping for shopping" I often hear that you're meant to pick a spot promptly, would spending roughly 20 seconds and a turn or two to reach the quieter side of the car park (if there is one) be too long that it would be a minor fault? 4. I am aware of observations like checking blind spot etc. but when just doing general driving with nothing much going on does the assessor look to see if I am checking my rearview mirror every 10 seconds or so? or how often do they expect candidates to check the rearview mirror when there's not much happening. Big thanks to any answers and for these videos, they are extremely helpful!
Hi. I am just interested in the fact that are assessors allowed to discontinue the test when there is no “fail” or “discontinue” recorded? Because it seems like the test has been terminated before sections 4,5 were assessed and there was no fail or discontinue recorded for this test. Thanks a lot!
Yeah I think it's unfair that they don't allow the experience of the entire test despite the fact that candidate lost the substantial amount of points which they can't recover
Hey Steve, just done my PDA today failed due to quite few things major thing being failing to use revision mirror, is it possible wearing a hat could have made it hard for assessor to see my checks, or should I just be moving my head more to show it, only because I felt like I was checking quite a lot as I tend to do, Also love watching the routes very informative and interesting.
Sorry to hear that. I don't think that it should be that obvious. If the assessor pays attention to your mirror checks, that would be sufficient. Good luck next time and thanks for the feedback
@DrivingSchoolWA i was in Midland today actually! Its changed a lot since the last time i was there i did notice there though they have lights there which are crossings, do those particular lights stay green all the time unless a pedestrian pushes the button to cross?
Failed mine yesterday. Right in the first 2 minutes at the right turn, I got too nervous and had a sudden stop right on the white line on the freeway. When we are approaching the turn, if the right arrow becomes yellow but we have already passed the white line, we need to proceed to the middle of the intersection and complete the turn right?
Hello guys, while driving, if you could give the speed limit for each street at the bottom of the screen every time you turn, it would be really helpful so we know what the speed limit is at each street. Thank you..
Hi Steve, just a question about the bringing your own car to the test, is it okay to bring a car that has no parking break centrally mounted? If it’s automatic break. Now a days many of the newer cars don’t have a physically side break. Also, in a few years time cars will probably all run on that so won’t DOT make new rules on this? Cause then people will have to start searching for older models just to take it to their PDA
Hi Cheryl, if the assessor can reach the button brake in the middle that's fine and they will accept the vehicle with the electronc brake but not the foot operated parking brake. Many European cars have those. Example: Mercedes and BMW. RE: changes that DoT should make, there are many changes they should make but they don't take feedback from public seriuously. Best regards!
@@DrivingSchoolWA Thanks for your message Steve, I have called DOT Mirrabooka, and they said it’s okay but it’s up to assessor on the day to accept it or not. That’s abit silly to be honest I asked okay how am I supposed to know what my assessor’s intentions when I bring it in he says take it the head of DOT. They can’t even give you a straight answer about a simple inquiry. That’s a shame. But thank you so much for your reply!
Did my test yesterday and failed because i went on the wrong side of the road at a car park, i was doing the stopping for shopping exercise and had just done a reverse park (which was good) then went to do a forward park but im used to forward parking on the right not the left so the stupid thing i did is i ignored all the left free parking spots and went further down but the carpark was pretty full. So as i went further down i didn’t realise there was a roundabout at the end. I was on the left side of the road looking for right hand parking as you’re supposed to, they were all full. There was also a car in that roundabout so the assessor intervened, i didnt get to finish my other exercises we went straight back.
I was meant to be in the roundabout not on the other side of it even if i was on the left side of the road* i have another test rebooked for next week and i hope i dont make this stupid mistake again.
You are very welcome. Good question. There is no regulation preventing people from finding out where they take people for tests, but I ensured that I was at a reasonable distance and never distracted the driver.
Is it acceptable for a so called examiner at Midland to constantly mess with the air con controls and deliberately obstruct the gearstick with their knee during a test?
Omgggg ik this was ages ago but same don’t wanna bother my parents I have to take public transport to work anyway, I’m doing mine tmr and need my p’s for work but scared im gonna fail the parking section😭😭
Hi there Steve! I have booked my PDA for next year in mid-January and I am just wondering how you determine when to stop before a white line because I am a bit confused sometimes, my friends had told me when the front cover of the car just ran over the line then I can stop, but not sure if it is correct though. Is there a better way, like maybe something I can use as a mark so I can know exactly when is the best time to stop in front of the white line, so I won't be too far back or went too forward? Thanks!!
If you're just stopping at a white line that is perpendicular to your car, it is pretty easy. For that, I just look at the left side mirror and make sure that the car stops when the white line just appears under that mirror. For white lines that are at an angle to your car (most commonly found in slip lanes and roundabouts although these are "give way" dotted lines), it is more tricky and I mainly just use my judgement and experience for that. Probably your method of the white line just disappearing over the bonnet of the car will work well in this situation, but you'll have to test that and see for yourself.
@@jeannealexatszluiwang99 congrats mate, I have mine next Wednesday just went there today for a drive it seems pretty simple, no hill starts and rare stop signs, any places that you struggled in?

Could you please take a look at the intersection of Clayton str and Robinson street, the left lane is turn left only, right go straight but right after that the left lane is go straight and right lane is turn right only. I’m told that I can change lanes while being in the middle of the intersection cause it will be hard to change lanes after I exit as it is such a short distance.
@@poojavachhani8333 it was a common route, my instructor took me there before, and on the day she took me around the common routes for PDA again (for me, it made a big difference to have an hour lesson before the test, I was really focused to review all things which I was not able to do in previous lessons). I did parking at the new Woolies and basically, just follow the assessor's instructions and stay calm. There were a few minor things that the assessor addressed: I was rushed when changing lanes, checking blind spot and shifting the car at the same time; when I did the left something behind exercise I forgot to indicate right after I reversed out of the driveway to leave. They shortened the number of sections to 5 from 7 back in 2006 I believe. That's the only difference

Robinson Rd no longer goes through to Gt. Eastern Hwy and there are extra roundabouts on Hooley (the stop sign at Mathoura is now a roundabout).
