Soldier buddy of mine says they have a motto in the forces: it isn't stupid if it works.
The open style of the cross hair ensures there's less interference in the centre field of vision, so the brain has less processing to do when identifying objects. (You have to filter-out the cross hair)
All a cross hair does is provide a point of reference. Practice is what matters. This open style is MUCH better for CQB, because you're putting an object in a box, instead of a dot on the object.
By reducing his field of vision, he's freeing up processing power that enables him to engage faster, at the cost of reduced peripheral vision. This translates into faster response times.

I like 90% of the people would rather trash on the cross hair but that cross hair gives you way more information than just lines and a dot.
100% agree. After the topic of hallzerk crosshair became popular, I tried it myself. Damn, maybe it’s not the best crosshair but it improved my game a lot. It is easier to aim head cuz if you are a blind chicken like me it’s very helpful, plus it show precisely what the spray/tap dispersion while moving or shooting would be
I now don’t play with this crosshair as much but when I did I improved my spraying, tapping and everything else. Now I use this or classic dynamic on the dms or warmups to feel aim a bit better
It block to much of the screen to out weigh any benifit. High level players can play without a crosshair, so they can make any crosshair work. This crosshair also gives you no additional info just shows you where you should be compensating for recoil but, if you wait for the crosshair to move to control recoil you are not pulling down early enough to truly compesate due to you reacting to recoil not anticipating it. Basically its only useful for new or below average gamers whon dont know the recoil pattern. If you know the pattern already there is nothing to gain and you lose your static center of the screen and its much harder to track that way
the thing is no one is trying different setups. I have pretty big crosshair compared to the normal ones cause I have pretty hard time tracking a small crosshair and it really improved my aim.
do you want tons of practically useless info entering your brain while looking at the crosshair or do you want a simple reference point for where to click

1. Muscle memory(Consistent DPI)
2. Crosshairs placement
3. Good cross hair

Pros practice enough to where it's muscle memory knowing where your bullets will go without a crosshair.
I've competed in pro online sim racing series before and practice has always kept my muscle memory in shape. Although I haven't had time to practice in 2 years so instead I've evolved my technique so I can qualify but not put a whole race together.
I imagine he hit a mental block and gave himself a bad crosshair to go with the dynamic bc he doesn't want to rely on the crosshair nessesarily and evolving his playstyle in doing so :)
At the level of competition csgo is at, every pro has to evolve constantly to not be easily readable by their opponents
I heard n0thing talking about this once, when you have thousands of thousands of hours you eventually just know where the middle of your crosshair is exactly. Saw him playing with a cross hair gap 15 or some shit just tapping people. It doesn’t make sense but it does 😂

that plus a good monitor that has a crosshair overlay for no scoping. the guys at the top are machines, so i wouldn’t be surprised if they could pop off with zero crosshair
if you've ever played EFT and hip-fired you'd know. It's not even on center and given some playtime you're super accurate with no crosshair at all.

With the amount of hours he has with cs he already knows where the center is. I think the weird cross hair just gives him additional information that you don't really get from a normal crosshair where it doesn't expand
The game was to easy for him so he tried to get a little bit of COMPLEXITY.

CRTs are painful to look at though. I believe you can get cancer by using it long enough. Though they are a beauty.
@@Amin-dd9mkNah, that's a myth. Comes from a very old TV set from the 50s that did not have adequate shielding and could be harmful if you were sitting basically in front of the screen.
Otherwise if you think CRTs are painful to look at you probably only experienced severely worn out or really crappy ones.
Getting good is only practice, practice and practice for shooting and learn from the pros their positioning, nothing else matter. If you’re one of the person who are always looking for config and sens or dpi anything, ure the one that will never improve trust me because playing whatever ur comfort is the best.
it matters. big dot crosshair will block your view from far away enemies, sens too high will be very hard to control, and dpi too high will have problematic acceleration on the mouse. assuming you already turn off the acceleration on CSGO config in first place.
but yah, it's a proper preparation they need to do when doing setup and then just move on with it and continue to play the game.
it's only bad when they just keep blaming and changing config, sens, dpi when being shitty in the game, even tho they're supposed to improve inside the game.

You can preshoot, react fast, and play nades. But if your entire team doesn't communicate, you will get flanked pretty easily and forced to play 1v3 or even 1v5 everytime.
The most important is to play with friends of like-minded people who wants to improve in game.
Well, if you want to try new things, you can actually improve. It is myth that you have to stick with one setting to get good.
Yea I agree. The best tip is swiping your mouse to one side of the mousepad and making sure it goes at least 180°. Then you use that as your control to adjust your sensitivity for different games. When it comes to FPS, most of this stuff is muscle memory and your body easily adjusts to different sensitivities so long as it's not too drastic (although you'll adjust eventually). Trying to copy setups the pros use aren't always fruitful. If you're good, you'll play well regardless of what you use.

Everyone talks shit to me in mm because my crosshair is dynamic, and my response almost always is "then why do I have 3x / 4x / 5x your kills?" Dynamic is best :)

The thing about these pros are they started their journey on a potato pc, so changing their set ups will force them to train their aim all over again. They are missing out though, playing 144hz on 4k does improve your gameplay as a casual

I don't even use a crosshair. I use a fine tip marker and put a tiny dot on my screen dead center of the awp while scoped in so can I line the awp up without being scoped 😉. And for those of you thinking it's destroying your screen, it's not. You can lick your finger at any time and wipe it off. I've been doing this since 1.6. Try it and watch you start hitting ten times more awp shots than you already do. When u peek all u need to do is quick scope and shoot, no more split second lining the shot up as you can pre line it up behind the wall or corner. Works best if u spot the enemy first then re-peek him, even better if your already good and pre aiming known spots.

How tf does an esports channel not know that pros often play with black bars? 4:3 has been one of the most widely used aspect ratios in pro cs for the past 20 years...

One thing I've learned from playing cs and valorant, people care WAAAAAAY too much about other peoples crosshair. If someone is getting kills and you're just complaining about their crosshair, maybe you should worry about your own gameplay man
I mean that’s true but sometimes they’re CLEARLY throwing. I had a cypher in my game the other day who first round had no crosshair, second round had one that covered his whole screen, and third round just one horizontal line.

Honestly, for us it's gonna look weird but thinking about the mechanics of the game and how the crosshair shows when your first shot will be accurate, it makes sense that its usable

Hallzerk and Elige carried complexity and gave hard time to faze clan in finals it was a close match especially on Ancient(3rd map)
it seems like it is so large because it includes what the spray pattern will be. Guess CS fans are good at saying "oh damn" when kills happen but not as good as using their brains for 0.2 seconds when they watch the spray perfectly fill out the larger crosshair.

I actually really like that crosshair. The bars are wide enough to not obscure my vision, while the circle gives me the accuracy and shows the movement spray or whatever you wanna call it. I’d unironically use it.

it's so crazy to me that pros play the game in such tiny resolutions / on such small screens. that one example shown in the video is mindbogglingly smol. but even the standard pro setups are tiny as fuck to me.
i've been playing CS mostly on a 34inch curved monitor. 600 hours of it. granted, I absolutely have situations where it's been unfavourable and I here and there think about getting a zowie to play it in a more appropriate way. (never every would I want to play it as tiny as displayed in the video though, that didn't even look like fun anymyore).
but in the end, i'm not gonna become a pro anymore at 32 and CS is not the only game I play. and I also don't wanna buy a 4m long desk with 3 different monitor setups. as long as I have other stuff to improve on, of which I have an infinite amount in the backlog, I probably won't focus on a more competitive monitor setup.
so, I guess I will continue to go full plebian and play my beloved competitive counter strike on a massively inappropriate 34inch curved gaming monitor. lel.
I made my crosshair look pretty much like that when I first played csgo. It’s not like it’s crazy, hardly even impractical at that scale and shape. Looks come second to function believe it or not, and that crosshair clearly tells me where center screen is, what’s on target, and what errors are in effect. Even when people use silly titty crosshairs it’s not a matter of complaint for me as long as it isn’t intentionally distracting. The disturbing thing is the way he uses his monitor.

this crosshair actually looks amazing. I dont know what all the different parts mean especially what the movements mean, but this guy clearly knows, and it gives him a tactical advantage because he knows more from his crosshair than other people

I mean, when you are so used to playing that you know the center of the screen, you don't need the crosshair. Whenever I take mine away it doesn't affect me much unless I really focus on it not being there.
Its possible he practiced with the crosshair yo give him an extra challenge, thus allowing him to improve faster, but he got so used to the handicap that he no longer plays as well wothout it. Or maybe its just a flex

Fun fact about over the top crosshairs I used to use one and I actually used it to help me adjust my aim when spraying when learning CS like I would move the top of the outer area to the persons body or head when spraying and would hit my shots until it became natural then took time to learn patterns and eventually moved off the crosshair not many people try to learn that way they just load in get gutter stomped go to an aim training warm up on stationary bits then go in and get gutter stomped again

Played for a year with that crosshair and it was just horrendous. Reason being my custom crosshair would just disappear from the screen and I didn't wanna mess with the settings so I just changed it to this one. 😂
