If you listen closely you can hear six or seven spirits singing out of Dee Dee. I very much enjoyed the acoustics rendition. Great voices, great harmonies, great lyrics, great soul, great emotion. It is simply great.

l agree sounds very much like fade into you . i love mazzy star .. for many many years .. but i think this song vocals and lyrics are better . the chorus has more depth and i can relate to the lyrics haha
The vocals do not compare to Hope Sandoval's and the lyrics are dumb. It is an incredibly shallow song, even more so when compared to Fade into You.

Not a rip off. Mazy and Hope's music are for sure an influence, I can almost guarantee it... I mean, the other songs off this album are a bit more Dream Pop (and I emphasize on the pop) but I can hear the influence very clearly in this album. Still a solid collection of songs. In terms of of chord progression, I'm sure this is exactly the same as "Songs For A Blue Guitar" which was written by Mark Kozelek of Red House Painters. If you haven't taken the time to discover them... You can thank me later. Cheers.

How stupid the comments are here: everybody is a 'rip-off' of everyone else. Who the hell isn't? Everybody borrows from what they've heard over their lifetime. That said, I don't hear a direct blatant rip-off of fade into you.
No one can just accept a song or anything for what it is anymore. Everything is compared to something else. It's a beautiful song just leave it at that.

I totally disagree that this song is a "bad rip-off", sometimes a great song like Fade Into You needs an encore. Dee-Dee is so beautiful in her vocals, and looking as are all the Girls. Well, we can't compare her to Lady Gaga because they have different styles, they are different in many aspects. But saying she's more talented, better looking, etc, it's a matter of taste [and very personal], and for a general understanding, you can't say this.
