It’s funny how I watched this episode as a kid on the “it’s great to be an engine” dvd and yet I’m still willing to agree with you considering the times she was charecterized as mean and bossy during the hit and maybe even milkier era
I have this episode on this DVD too. My god it is the weakest episode on there next to You Can Do It Toby mainly due to the fact that they flanderized 2 iconic characters.
4:18 I think Daisy is more like Lucy. Since Emily has had kind moments as well as nasty moments in the HiT model era, I say she's more like Peppermint Patty in this manner.
People said that the writters used emily's bossy persona come from lucy from peanuts according to paul larson and said it was to make her more of character to her because they didn't want her to turn into those generic season 7 newbies. Of course this episode is awful cause she's rude for no reason. This also happens in as good as gordon
Emily’s adventure did in fact taught me (as a kid) that don’t let your anger get the best of you. This episode was ofc kinda boring asf. The three strike formula. Emily’s new personality was very much different when hit took over. This episode could’ve been a James ep since James in the theme song “he’s vain but lots of fun.” And since he’s rudder to all the engines, not Emily. I’ll rate this ep a 5.7/10 not bad not great either.
This episode could have been better if Emily instead was impatient and would hurry them along because she was concerned about the calves and she had to learn to be more patient and things would turn out better
I just wanna pretend this episode doesn’t exist… She was so flawed in the series imo. 1:42 yooo I just noticed this now while watching this, but is it just me or are Topham’s eyes aren’t centered correctly? 2:17, 3:34 possible the war by treywpro fan??
This is probably one of Season 8's worst episodes. It’s boring and the message is just spelt out (contradictory to what George Carlin said about Thomas).
Paul Larson is a very inconsistent writer. He wrote several great episodes (No Sleep for Cranky, The World’s Strongest Engine, Jack Frost, Percy Gets It Right, James and the Queen of Sodor, the Arthur duology, Thomas to the Rescue, Gordon Takes Charge, Mighty Mac, Duncan’s Bluff, James the Second Best, Gordon and the Engineer, and the Madge duology) but he wrote a fair share of duds as well (Henry and the Wishing Tree, this episode, Chickens to School, Rheneas and the Dinosaur, Skarloey the Brave, and Edward and the Mail).
I enjoyed this episode. It showed how much trouble being rude and bossy can cause you as well as everyone around you. Emily is keen to do her job and she is being inconsiderate towards others. I think this works for Emily, because we see another side to her.
I can fix this. And all with a little sentence to act as a prologue. "Alright, so this storm's not gonna let up... we could use a story... I've got one, from back on the Great Northern! Any objections? No?"
Thank God I don't remember this episode too well; Emily is just stuck-up rude for no reason! She was never like that in season 7! Hit Entertainment, I thought you knew how to take her character well when she was introduced one season before! 😤 Definitely the worst for me; "Emily's New Route" was so much better!
Actually Emily DOES have a reason of being rude, she's delivering timber to McColl's before the calves get cold. Wouldn't you also act impatient if you were stuck in traffic etc? And she at least apologizes and revert back to her original persona at the end by asking Elizabeth nicely.
I agree on everything you said Emily used to be a motherly character until when Hit Era came in she turned into a bossy ass she reminded me of Lucy van pelt
Honestly I never considered Emily a classic character. Part of that is cause she replaced Duck in the main cast and well I don’t view season 7 as a classic season. And man the Hit era made her so unlikable that when I think Of the franchise I don’t look back at her fondly or as a main character
HIT im not going to except this slander on my mom's favorite engine.... I hate this episode and "Percy's new whistle" for 2 reasons. The false titles and false plots. Other Emily episodes I dont like: Thomas, Emily and the snowplough. As good as Gordon. Emily and Dash ("Wonky Whistle" but far more obnoxious). Emily knows best (The crash is the only positive). Emily in the middle (Mostly its Donald and Douglas). Whats the matter with Henry? (Henry being treated like crap is what I don't like). Thomas and the new engine (She, Thomas and the other Steam Team engines expect for Gordon, Henry and Toby being unwelcoming to Neville all because of Thomas' racist rumor about Arry and Bert).
I actually don't mind bossy Emily in some episodes like Emily Thomas and the snow as good as Gordon Emily's know best in Emily and special coaches enter some episodes that Emily at nice Emily's new route excellent Emily Emily's rubbish and Rosie carnival special
D10Studios235 Sasha thetankengine If I were to rewrite this episode my way I will replace Emily's role with Gordon because think about it Gordon is a pompous arrogant and boastful engine and who doesn't have any experience pulling cars That was evident in Gordon takes a dip or off the rails and him grumbling and complaining That he has to pull Timber wagons to Farmer McCall Farm Would give a perfectly good reason of why he's rude to everybody Including Trevor the Workman and Elizabeth You can even Have Thomas say a magic railroad reference where he calls him a bossy sprockets So what do you think of this rewrite idea
@@D10Studios235Are you f*@king blind that Emily at least learned her lesson and the moral was actually executed fine since Sharon Miller wasn't writer yet and that Emily's reasons for being impatient is justified because SHE'S NEEDS TO DELIVER THE TIMBER TO MCCOLL BEFORE THE CALVES GET COLD? @#$& YOU!
Yeah, go watch Emily’s New Route…
Thanks for having me on, Timothy!

The part when the narrator says that Emily didn't want to ask nicely really sums up why I hate this episode
"Emily's Adventure" is also neglecting the moral "Show, Don't Tell" by making the narrator explain everything.

Good thing Elizabeth stood her ground against Emily.
5:20 SpongeBob got ripped!
4:18 I think Daisy is more like Lucy.
Since Emily has had kind moments as well as nasty moments in the HiT model era, I say she's more like Peppermint Patty in this manner.
The fact she didn’t apologize to Trevor or the Workmen is sad.

2:49 This is what we call foreshadowing :)
A couple of things I hated about this episode, but the one thing I really hate is that Trevor never got an apology from Emily. Poor Trevor...😢💔🚜
But at least Elizabeth got an apology.
@@randomnessetc5600 yes I get that but I like Trevor more than Elizabeth and I hate how underused he is nowadays 😔

You forgot Thomas And The Stinky Cheese, that's another one of Paul's duds.
@@masterJ2004 I don’t really dislike that one. I give it a pass for Arry and Bert getting their comeuppance two times in a single episode.
I agree with you on the Angry Emily Take Along variant
0:51 Howtobasic reference
1:52 no one messes with Trevor
Now that she apologized to Thomas Emily needs to apologize to the other Engines that had the same whistles as her
I think it's probably because I'm obsessed with BFDI, but the morse code at 2:49 sounds exactly like Roboty saying "Finally, I am at peace" in BFB 10
IKR
I Noticed too bro! :D
Yeah, HIT Basically Made Emily A Total Karen
Imagine Series 7 reacting to Series 8 Emily.
Emily's Adventure is definitely one of the worst. My least favourite is Pingy Pongy Pick Up though
I hate how the Hit era made Emily into a Lucy wannabe, even though they should have given that role to Daisy
Everyone has their own opinion, people can like bossy emily if they want,
@@RicardoGaming09 not me though but oh well
Yeah, I think Daisy is more like Lucy.
I feel like Emily is more like Captain Sir Peppermint Patty.

Toby was supposed to take the place of Oliver in Emily’s debut episode
How is that shed not ripped off, we saw trucks derailed by the wind and they are heavy metal objects..
Personally, I think Emily’s Best Friend is the worst Emily episode. But this is a close second

True, but she still acts rude in "As Good as Gordon", "Thomas, Emily and the Snowplough" and a few more episodes in the new series.
What about Jetta Handover (from Clifford) and DW (from Arthur), besides Lucy from peanuts?
I thought Emily's New Best Friend was a griping episode

I don’t like her attitude. She is bossy and rude. That part “About time” that makes me mad.
