    31:29 - what could they do? Nuclear deterrent is active. It's so amazing with digital world that everything is recorded and available to reflect with present. India called the bluff and did the strikes. Once on land and second time by air. I am not saying I am not an advocate for peace. I have always been of an opinion that peace is the only solution however I saw a different route to reach the peace which is largely ajit doval doctrine which says the war or proxy war should be so expensive for Pakistan thar everyone in that country including military and civilians are genuinely in board for peace and not a back stabbing infamous bus diplomacy between Nawaz and Bajpai. India tried peace talks and it was absolutely worth trying to understand that it didn't work and what kind of adversary we are dealing with. Now India is on Ajit Doval doctrine and it will be interesting to it brings in the future.
    I am follower of world politics and likes and follow Najam Sethi with keen interest.

    What I like most about the Pakistanis is the confidence with which they beg money from United States ,,They make it such a compelled case for US think tanks to pay them to buy peace not only for India but even for the world which will ultimately get affected ,,,
    Crux of Najam Sethi’s speech is it is responsibility of US & India to request Pakistan for peace,,& inturn pay US taxpayer dollars to them for them to beef up their army
    Crazy stuff ,,,🙏

    Repeating myself, but Najan Sethi is one of the most observant and intelligent men in Pak. I am not saying it because I am from India, but I find his observations keen and his analysis logical. Sethi Sahab! your knowledge of history is factual and truthful. Always enjoyed listening to him (and Hassan Nisar sahib). We Indians want peace. I hope Pak people realize that their army and religion hardline-ism has caused nothing but unrest and waste of wealth. Pakistan friends, you have been mislead and mis-informed about India. We are not really too different, from you. Only difference is that we didn't have a military rule and we don't Maulvi's and Mullahs running the show. Sethi Sahab, keep it up!

    Najam concludes that Pakistan is problem for everyone.....
    What they need is a Friendly Afghanistan, a nimble Baluchistan, silent hardworking Pashtons, a humble India and a filthy rich America to fund its Pakistani Taliban, Jihadists and as he beautifully crafts the non state power centers which have established themselves laboriously in last 30 years. The whole world should be as they want.
    I highly appreciate him for beautifully crafting the speech for blackmailing the community of nations.
    I wonder at his eloquence of compelling other nations to clean his mess instead of putting his own house in order...

    The biggest problem of Pakistan is that it wants everything but doesn't have the money to do anything on its own. It totally depends on foreign aid, which it shamelessly accepts and uses it against India. In short, it's a pain in the ass for the entire world

  • @premprasad3511
    @premprasad3511 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Ultimately Najam wants India and the USA to promote Pakistani Army's interest ! The simple but grim answer to his question " What can India do if there is another Mumbai ?" is that Pakistan has to be denuclearized. That's difficult but we cant really have a nuclearized nation not being able to control its people from launching attacks on India. Najam just cannot shrug off Pakistan's responsibility by blaming it on India.

My question is, do you expect India to just sit back and accept that Pakistan will go ahead with another Parliament attack or a 26/11 with impunity? India has a no first use policy of Nukes. Then why does the civil establishment in Pakistan keeps reiterating and throwing the Nuclear rants our way?

    • @vivek86mybad
      @vivek86mybad 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +irfan rao See ...I am not a hawk ....neither have I got any skin in that religious rivalry camp ...I am an atheist . But look at it from a geo-strategic and realpolitik point-of-view .......why does India need to engage with Pakistan .....what does India stand to again ?! Pakistan at best is a nuisance for India. . Pakistan is an ideological state which is always going to try to resist India's rise . And as far as I can see Kashmir is unsolvable . The most Pakistan can do to pin-prick India is to turn the heat on in Kashmir and hope that India won't respond militarily because of the nuclear threshold but India can reply in kind by formenting trouble in balochistan and tribal areas of Pakistan .
      And the international opinion is now permanently against those states which use terrorism or non-state actors as a foreign policy tool ....so Pakistan would have to bear increasingly adverse costs in pursuance of such a policy . And mind you India is not a declining power like the soviet union was in the mid seventies and eighties ...it's a rising power ....and I as an non-"patriotic" non-jingoistic type Indian can attest to the fact that there is almost a consensus in India that even if 50,000 more kashmiris die or even more Indian troops die ...Kashmir will stay Indian . So , I don't think Indian nationalism will let any territorial exchange or concession to happen that Pakistan hopes for .
      So our issues are more or less unresolvable . India has not much to gain from rapprochement with Pakistan. And the way Pakistan has defined itself as an ideological state ...I don't think that it'll find"'Hindu" India's dominance palatable....it'll always resist India much like Cuba did to the United States . Even the power differential between the United States and Cuba ..didn't make the Cubans seek a rapprochement with the United States...it was just that the US was so much more powerful and influential than Cuba that it chose to ignore Cuba .
      Pakistan will always(atleast in the near future) be a sink hole for Indian influence because of it's ideological opposition to India ....so as a humble student of realpolitik I think it's better for India to just impose a tentative balance of mutual punishment with Pakistan .....and just ignore it and outgrow it .

    • @irfanrao901
      @irfanrao901 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      vivek yadav Wow, Indians are really very advanced than us. Because they are nurturing so called "atheist" "non-patriotic" elements like you, who claim to be "just" and proves that India is bla bla.
      Listen my friend, There is not any neutral zone in this world. This universe works on "yes" or "not" principle. You can't stay neutral and it has been proven by your "intelligent" analysis.
      Creating disturbance in Tribal areas or Balochistan, has now become impossible for India. One mistake you are making here, and that is you are using informations which are almost 2 years old. Just have more updates. Things have been changed now. And much more is being changed in Pakistan and India.
      Balochistan has become peaceful. Tribal area is now in government's control.
      India is having great troubles in Haryana, Punjab, Tamilnado, Southern India and many other areas. India is still dealing with social issues like caste system etc. Wars are not fought, based upon just numerical analysis. Go to university and study War discipline. I think you will have a little "Gayaan" of how wars are fought. Social coherence is also very important.
      Last thing, India is not just having Kashmir, it is controlling the water which is blood line for Pakistan. We will never let India to ignore us while India is blocking our water. It question of our survival, We will get our water, either with peace or with War. We are ready for both option. India is being developed and rich, and developed/rich nations have great fear of being invaded. because all sky crappers, bridges and infrastructure will collapse which you have built with so hard work and patience. We are not rich, so we don't fear of any kind of destruction. We are the people who can eat grass to build a military and nukes. We are more warrior than you. India have always been invaded from the Western borders(historical fact). Pakistan will Allie with Afghans. And then your nightmare will come true..... hahahahaha

  • @gauravipal9518
    @gauravipal9518 ปีที่แล้ว

    This speech from 2009 has not aged well as we review it in 2022. Sethi was saying that due to Pak being nuclear, even if there was another 26/11, India had to lump it. His advocacy of Pak nuclear blackmail hinged on the fact that India was too sane to use its nuclear weapons even in retaliation, so Pak could keep bleeding India with a thousand cuts under its nuclear umbrella and face no consequences. Balakot proved him wrong.
    He also said India could nor progress without lasting peace with Pakistan. Pakistan shennaginans has not permitted peace and in fact Inran downgraded diplomatic relations in August 2019 and stopped all trade with India but that has not stopped India's growth. India was the 11th largest economy back in 2009 and is the 5th largest now. In a couple of years it will be 4th largest.
    He said Indian demand that composite dialog could not restart unless Pak disbanded terror infrastructure was unreasonable. India has stuck to its stand and it is Pak general Bajwa that was forced to go to India in 2021 to request reinstatement of 2003 ceasefire.
    He was implying that an Afghanistan ruled by Afghan Taliban would be friendly to Pakistan. In fact there has been a sharp spike in terrorism in Pakistan by TTP from its hideouts in Afghanistan after Afghan Taliban took charge in August 2021.

    Mr Sethi,
    You say that there is no way Pakistan Army is going to allow India to humiliate it. Can you tell us what will be humiliating to Pakistan?
    What happened during the Kargil war? What did the then US President Bill Clinton say to Nawaz Sharif? How come the Pakistan Army captured some Indian territory and then lost it?
    Your sarcastic reference to "Indi rising" and the damage to that country's image from your point of view will be such that India will not be able to fight a war with Pakistan.
    Pakistan started and has fought wars with India 1947, 1965, 1971 and in 1991. What gains can Pakistan show in your considered opinion?
    Your caution/threst/warning or statement that India cannot fight war with Pakistan, may be has some merit in it.
    So, what if India plays by the same rules that you do?
    You have a province called Baluchistan. Please remember it. It will be good for your health.
    Next, you talk sarcastically about Indian economy. What about Pakistan economy?
    Let us get to cricket. When will you get Australia, England, West Indies, South Africa and other teams to come and play in Pakistan?
    Would you please ask Pakistan Cricket board to show some pride and stop trying to get Indians to play cricket with you?
    Pakistan is blowing hot and cold. One day there is terror attack in India. Some months later you ask India to play cricket with Pakistan. Few days later there is firing at the border.
    Wait, let Mr Hafiz Saeed blow his trumpet.
    That is all very well, Mr Sethi.
    But when is the next trip of your PM Sharif to USA? Sure it will follow that of General Sharif.
    Two begging bowls !!!!
