      well the ql might be good on that point but tt quad riing killed ql on radiator cooling cause all what matter is the pressure cooling when you going for watercooling also yes it might be more bright on the ql too but aint worth that much as the riing does with their quad thing cause i found fans exastly like corsairs one with proprietary 6 pin connector with the same lightning frame and center for like 6-15$ per fan and even found one with crystal effect transparent frame they can match with these trident crystal rams or how they are called in the other hand riing is something unique and can play 4 animations simultaneously that i guess wins ppls i even bought 9 quad riings yesterday for the lols ps phanteks sell one of those neon stripes for really cheap they re argb and match alot with riings will buy one or 2 stripes

I have 2 sets of the Riing Plus, and when you look at them head-on, you can see the individual LEDs through the protective white ring around them, I wish they were smoothed out by the ring, I wonder if the Quads have the same issue, if they do, that would defeat the purpose of having aesthetically pleasing fans to being with...

    Just a suggestion in the beginning of the video you had the fans displayed on the table talking about RGB but the fans were off maybe next time have them on because in the next frame you are talking about the fan noise and rotation and you have them on. Just seems to me a better point if your talking about the RGB and not having them on then talking about noise levels and having the RGB on it feels off in a way but liked your video just a suggestion.

    TT Quad Riing is King of RGB. If they can improve on their Neon Maker software to become more intuitive then there will be no competition because nothing comes close to the Quad fans. They were NOT meant for intakes. Because if they add 54 led in the back then the price will be almost double to what is already the most expensive fans in the market. If you want led on both side than go for Corsair or the Trio Riing fans

  • @stevekalle6969

    Techpowerup has tested fans on radiators and corsair fans are among the worst at cooling in a water loop whereas EK is at the top. However, comparing the m/s numbers here to TPU, the m/s results don't necessarily correlate with good cooling. If only there was more testing of fans in water loops 😉

    Good content but the bar charts are not formatted properly, don't mean to be an ass, but on the airflow chart the m/s should be on the y-axis along with a title on the y-axis e.g. "Airflow (m/s)" not listed individually with each speed. Same applies to the noise chart, the unit should be on the y-axis, so you know it is relevant to that scale, not in the title. Also I think it is important for the noise chart's title to include that it is delta ambient, if someone is not listening and just looking at the data it's misleading at best. I think it would be better to use rpm instead of half and full speed, as then you can use the same excel spreadsheet to build larger graphs for more fans for some more perspective. Finally sound is logarithmic, a 3dB increase is scientifically double as loud, although human perception of a 3dB increase is almost nothing, the perception I guess is what you want to understand when looking to buy a fan, so the linear scale kind of makes sense I guess. I definitely come across as an asshole but it is genuine feedback, that I think atleast will improve content quality.
    TLDR: I like the camera work, I like the review, but I'd like more professional data presentation.

Just for the the fans i bought 3x 3 fan boxes and 1 single fan to have 10. Each box of 3 fans had a rgb control unit come with them. This didn’t include the power pro units you need to power them which you need to buy separately. Found this out after i installed them. The fans totaled to about $500 before i bought the power pro units those were $80 each. So your looking at $650 - $700 total for 10 of them with the power pros to give them all power. RGB fans are too expensive right now.

    • @2GuysTek
      @2GuysTek  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you buy a Commander Pro, yes, everything plugs into the Pro. If you just buy the standard 3-pack of Corsair fans, you'll only get the RGB controller and the fans will need to be plugged into your motherboard fan headers.

  • @joefernandez7512

    So these fans need to be set to the highest speed on a radiator AIO through the software because they can not be controlled through the motherboard?

    • @2GuysTek
      @2GuysTek  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The QL's have 4-pin PWM headers to connect to your motherboard, but the Riing Quads use a single connector containing PWM and RGB that can only connect to their controller. So while you can use your standard motherboard software to control the QLs, you'll need to use ThermalTakes software to control the speeds of the Riing Quads. The TT software does monitor your system and attempt to dynamically speed up and down the fans to cool or you can set a constant speed.

    Can you set a colour curve to the cpu temp ?

    • @2GuysTek
      @2GuysTek  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep, both iCUE and the ThermalTake software have a visual temperature pattern out of the box.

  • @radicalxedward8047
    @radicalxedward8047 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    ICUE is pretty nice, but 2 big downsides:
    1 it uses a good amount of system resources compared to other software (though it doesn’t have to be left running for everything depending on your setup like some software needs to be)
    2. You can’t create custom animations like razer chroma or thermaltakes new RGB software.

    Does anyone know of any RGB fans that support razer chroma?

      There are websites like pcpartspicker.com that will automatically calculate your wattage needs as you add your components.

    the software for the RIING Is so bad. I had the old RIING 12 fans and the software eventually just shitted out and quit working. Yeah the RGB was working but once I installed another program that had nothing to do with fans or RGB in general, addressing the RGB in the thermaltakes software was no more and never got fixed. I was told it was a bug in the software and that I was shit out of luck until the devs fixed it. So I decided to switch to two 3 packs of the Corsair's QL120's. All I can say is never had a problem and wow the rgb! ill never go back to thermaltake fans.

    54 RGB lights on one fan?
    Holy moly you cant even use 2x triple pack on new Gigabyte x570 MB's They support up to 300 addressable rgb lights only. You cant even use 6 rgb fans to control with MB or software. Max is 5 with TT fans
    @2GuysTek A lot reviewers dont even take into account MB importance when buying these new rgb fans. Ignoring that many want to go with 2xtriple fan sets and because of MB limitations its important to point out.

    • @shaolin95
      @shaolin95 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The TT fans are to be controlled by their own controller not the Mobo. They can also sync with synapse. I have 10 TT fans working perfectly fine

    Its ridiculous that my budget EZDIY rgb fans have better transitioning effects than the riing quad fans which is almost 4x more expensive then my set of EZDIY rgb fans including 5 pieces, the software is wack and neon maker is also wack I tried at my friends house, he immediately swapped for the Corsair QL120 which is no brainer ! I will do the same for sure. You wont win customers by adding just more rgb in your fans, the user experience in the software is also mega important.
    Sadly, Thermeltake does have good rgb fans, its just that their software makes the rgb experience dogshit, without running the software you can notice that suddenly the rgb on the riing quad becomes very smooth (stockmode rainbow), with software activated all the rgb effects are dogshit including neon maker, this is the same for all thermaltake rgb fans !

    • @post-leftluddite
      @post-leftluddite 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The new neon maker software, which for some reason the ignored, is the best on the market, it let's you create custom animations in a timeline similar to video editing software, no other software allows such fine grain control and endless possibilities
