Mine is a higgledy piggledy mishmash of tables and easels and lights, and I’ve chosen to leave a huge dresser that’s my “ancestor” altar in, as well as an old decrepit stuffed chair my cat loves taking up valuable space… seeing your beautiful and deliberate setup helps me realize a more committed and focused approach would be a good idea!
Wow what an intense sounding move. I’m glad you made it and your new space looks so cozy and inviting. I feel the same way about balancing the space between making art and all the gear I need to produce art videos. Filming equipment isn’t much of an aesthetic imho. Btw We are on the same coast now!
that desk is INSANE! My desk needs to work for my writing routine and art practice, and half the time I end up standing at the kitchen counter to write because I'm so sick of sitting. Excited to see how your new space transforms!

I hope you look into the ott light. I have a dark studio too and I have 3 ott lights. Ott lights are made to provide natural sun light to a space and are fantastic to work under. Just a thought! Love your new space and hope it works well for you! Can’t wait to see what’s go come.

So far I've picked up a Godox SL60W and a Godox SL100Bi to both function as better lights when making art and studio lights for videos. I also have a light above my desk now and an Elgato strip light for the back edge of my desk to light it up a bit

I haven't had the time (yet!!) to really dive into it what with spending so much time moving and unpacking but I'm genuinely really loving NMA so far, it's insanely high quality education and I definitely recommend it!

I haven't! No shade to the Canvas team but after two years of use I've had some persistent flickering problems with it, so I'm likely going to get rid of it and switch to something different, I also found the Elgato multimount system to be a more effective system for overhead camera shots

I have a partner who could potentially support me if i were to cut back on work but i dunno how i could ask for that, because building an art career sounds like a huge risk & i'm scared i'd fail. how can i ask her to put faith in me when i don't? lol that is not a q&a question, that is for my therapist! anyhow i love watching you succeed! 1000% hire movers to load the truck, but PACK EVERYTHING YOURSELF. Wrap the furniture in plastic and bubble wrap, take the legs off tables, be like EXTRA careful and pad everything way more than you think you need to. Your clothes are now packing materials. We paid for the movers to drive the truck cross country, which was like 2x the price, but absolutely worth it

we used Imperial movers! I actually really liked working with them, just be sure to package your stuff well and wrap furniture securely.
