- Anyone else hate that their art studio never looks as aesthetic or as organized as the beautifully shot studio tours you see on TH-cam? Yeah, me too. So here's mine, only it's my living room, and I didn't clean it beforehand.
Let's reinvent the genre and start a trend of posting realistic art studio tours, shall we? Bc I know y'alls art workspaces don't look like they're straight out of a magazine 24/7, c'mon now
So, yeah! This is my realistic art studio tour for this workspace. My boyfriend and I moved into this NYC apartment in August, so almost six months ago now. My workspace is a wall of our living room where I've devoted probably 90% of my decorating energy. It's a pretty straightforward set up-- an ikea countertop, two Alex drawer units, a trestle leg, and a chair that I spent wayyy too much money on because I'm tired of having more back pain than my 90 year old great grandmother.

It's a clean studio. I recently moved all my supplies to my desk so I don't have to get up to grab anything. It's so nice. I have started to label all my storage, and my brain just won't keep track anymore without them. All my stuff is sourced from thrift stores or from family.

I have cats as well and I was not sure if I could start oil painting when they in the same flat, because of the drying process. It's great to see that there is no problem even if I would paint in the same room! That gives me courage to try it for myself:3 Thank you!!
I don't have a online shop but I hoard packaging and cardboard boxes for when I next move (I don't move often) but there are some boxes you get from deliveries that are so good quality compared to buying ACTUAL moving boxes! (they are expensive and thin!) Lol
But in regards to the rest of the video😆 love your work space! I want my own art space at some point. I am working at home most of the time and only have space for a work desk, which is always a mess! Your "mess" is honestly my tidy! I also love all the plants and natural feeling of your space, very calming! 🥰

The wooden bamboo desk organizers are a life saver for me in an apartment where I don't want them out out of reach. My desk is a bit wide. Best artists gift my sister has given me besides a metal easel.

yessssss white paint is the best!! I dread the idea of running out, plus each white is a little bit different and it's worth it to try them out and see how they affect your color mixes!

BUT MY MYSTERY IS
why oh why do my drawers have no sides...each drawer pulls out perfectly, but it was made without a left side or a right sides

huh, I've got no clue. It's possible you got a knockoff of the one I have, which is from IKEA. These do have sides, and work great! hope that helps
