Its FINALLY happening, after years of searching for the right VTEC Mini, meet Rocket!
He started life as a 1992 Mini Mayfair and has been with the last owner for 10 years. Had the VTEC conversion carried out in 2019.
He's gained the name Rocket for obvious reasons, under the bonnet we have the WILD 185BHP Honda B18C4 VTEC engine with mappable Hondata S300 Bluetooth ECU. Full custom exhaust including manifold, Blox intake, custom shafts, KJB subframe, rose joint lower arms, polly bush tie bars, GAZ adjustable shocks, KAD adjustable rear arms. VTEC engagement at 4300 RPM then revs all the way to 8400 RPM, this is the best sounding Mini I've ever heard! Gearbox wise it has the standard S9B 4.26 final drive torsen LSD all paired to a launch control system and 13x8 alloys wrapped in Nankang AR-1 sticky rubber to get the maximum power down!
Externally as you can see he is finished in Nardo grey with black contrasting roof and carbon fibre everywhere including carbon arches, front and rear bumpers, roof spoiler, door mirrors, boot number plate light holder and even carbon on the number plates. Everything else is painted in contrasting black to match the roof including the air dam front splitter. YOB design A panels and raised bonnet all nod towards a performance Mini. To add to the weight saving theme we have perspex windows all round. Rockets is one mean looking Mini.
Internally you will have already noticed the contrasting Umo Yellow painted 6 point roll cage this is paired with 2 Sparco bucket seats and OMP harnesses only adds to the race car feel of this Mini. The weight saving continues here too with the rear seats base removed, drilled crossed member, carbon door cards, dash and no carpets. A very nice alcantara Roof lining and dash topper & rail add a little bit of luxury. A custom billet gear-shifter makes you feel like you're in a serious bit of kit. The carbon dash houses all the important info and start button. This is an experience in itself. Currently has the wooden Mounty steering wheel fitted but I have a full black leather one that I'm going to add. In the boot we have a full carbon fibre floor for yet more weight saving and a stunning alloy fuel cell.
Worth a special mention is the private number plate that comes with the Mini, B18 YHG, this refers to the Honda B18 engine and of course YEAH, Because thats one of the sounds you make when in it! This also has a very good value in its own right.
In summary this Mini is next level, of course it goes without saying that is an extremely fast Mini, sounds epic and is reliable to boot. He's a fast road/track Mini or could be made into a daily with nice interior. If you win you can can decide what direction to go with it. The history file is huge and has had over £25,000 spent.
