I live in the place where some of this high school league takes place. It’s near Mexico. I go for the Eagles since it’s my home team and the school I am going to go to next year. It’s cool having the city I live next to and my area get praise, but not for bad reasons. I live in the same county as the school (Rio Grande Valley) and they just cancelled Middle School Sports so rip. I think this is a deciding factor in that decision. Please don’t knock out refs because you got ejectsd

Update: the UIL, the governing body of Texas HS athletics, has put in place a 2 year ban on the Edinburgh Athletic program. Not sure if this is completely true, but if it is, there's either goning to be an appeal, or a complete review of the situation.

The sad thing is, he may not even have been the ref who made the call, initially. He is just the head ref who has to state what call was made. So sad this young boy thinks he has a right to attack a ref, very much older than him, who has no protective gear. This is not right in any situation. Yeah, sometimes you get that ref that you feel deserves it, but you do not act on it. This is not a kid. This is a young man, who obviously has been playing football for many years. He must be very immature, because he should have developed more self control by this point in his life. This is no more than a violent temper tantrum. Very sad situation.
Update: the UIL, the governing body of Texas HS athletics, has put in place a 2 year ban on the Edinburgh Athletic program.
Not sure if this is completely true, but if it is, there's either goning to be an appeal, or a complete review of the situation.
