I got this monitor around release date this summer. Hardly any reviews which is strange. The colors, image quality and overall quality of the panel is really really good. Games and movies look really vibrant. Can definitely recommend especially for the price.
hi, just wanted to ask how do you find the blacks on this monitor? are they dark enough or are they like greyish?
@@wydrobin Yeah you have definately some ips glow which makes it a little greyish. For me its dark enough though.

I'm actually trying to choose between the Dell 27 inch you mentioned you had and the updated 200hz version of this LG Ultragear they're both around the same price. I really actually wanted the Dell 27 inch curved one because that has a VA panel which I like for their good contrasts because I play a lot of dark games so would like good blacks. That one is ÂĢ50 more expensive right now though so idk if I should pick up the IPS Dell that you had or this Ultragear (200hz updated version). How are the blacks when you're playing games at night and dark games etc, and watching movies? Is it noticeable? Sorry for all the questions, it's just hard to choose monitors without actually seeing them in person first!

How matte is the screen? I'm having hard time with almost every gaming monitor because their matte coatings have lower quality compared to $200+ Dell monitors
It's IPS so it's matte

Its the coating, nothin' to do with the panel itself.
Glossy monitors have way better colors and sharpness tho since the coating is greyish and that will distort the colors slightly.
i get this monitor 2 days ago, and i cant find DAS mode(LG offical website claim this model included) in the menu, did you have the same problem as me?
Mine doesn't seem to have that option either and I'm using HDMI. Maybe try Display Port and see if that works?

for specifications n color Is this monitor better or the Lenovo R27Q-30?
Lenovo has 10 bit panel instead of 8 bit, 180 hz instead of 165.
It has better HDR and its brighter overall.
Both are IPS panels but the LG has better coverage of color space (sRGB, DCI-P3, Adobe RGB)
Lenovo supports full res & hz on HDMI tho since it comes with HDMI 2.1 instead of HDMI 2.0 like this LG monitor.
The Lenovo also has built in speakers and slightly better Screen-to-Body-Ratio + lower weight.
I would go for the Lenovo, but its more expensive but also more recent (at least in my country > Germany).
My cons are that when i opened the package the screen was broken , someone broke it and somehow and packed so no one could see !!! Unbelievable ðĪŊ

I've been trying to figure out the VESA mount situation on this monitor. I've seen comments that the mount holes on the monitor are recessed, meaning that the mount itself has to fit exactly inside the recessed space for it to be compatible. Do you have any experience with this? It's genuinely a make-or-break aspect for me (and I imagine other people) so if it has an even somewhat finicky implementation of the VESA 100 standard I'll look elsewhere. Thanks again!

@@boonwastaken Nope. Based on some other people talking about it I decided to avoid this model, which is frustrating, but I'm not in a position to throw money away on it of it can't be mounted.
Looking at the manual it appears to meet 100 x 100 VESA specification

rtings has a review breakdown. it's a solid monitor. It's going to be my next monitor, actually. It was recently even on sale twice for $349.
@@westonbyrneCan't find any review of it on RTINGS, I've only seen a review of the LG 27GP850 on that website. But that model costs considerably more in my country, and it has a pretty poor contrast ratio, at least when compared to the Gigabyte M27Q. The M27Q is priced closer to this LG moniitor.

This should run 1440p with 144hz right? Im using hdmi 2.1 cable cant choose between GP800 or GP850 or Odyssey G6 lol thing is if i am using with laptop there is no point of getting 144hz unless it have 2.1 hdmi support

I just had to get a warranty refund on my 27GL83A-B after 2 years. Amazon gave me a refund in full to amazon voucher. This is the one im looking at but the brightness is lower apparently? Think il notice much difference? Will colours be as good?

I've not tried it, but I'd go with this over the EX2510S for Red Dead 2 purely for the higher resolution panel and bigger screen size. EX2510S is a 1080p panel so won't look as clear - looks more geared towards Esports and fast paced games.

I've not used the GP850, however i'd imagine it may be slightly better as it's higher priced/ higher brightness etc. Could be wrong though!
Some people report headaches with the LG line of nano IPS panel monitors. Might be a thing to keep in mind and maybe only buy when you can test it. This one is a regular IPS.
@@Geta92this isnât nanotechnology but the gp850 is nanotechnology and I never suffered from a headache from using the old gl850B so I believe this depends on the person this monitor is insane for the price Iâm going buy one soon my aw2524hf just broke but Iâm happy it has because it was a replacement and itâs a 500hz monitor overkill for the Xbox series x
got this today, very dim monitor, compared to my 350/400 nits 1080 monitors, feels like there's a grey filter on everything that wont allow colours to pop, unfortunate, other wise the monitor was great, no dead pixels, no backlight or ips glow and great colours, just too dim, and i keep the blinds closed.

You don't need an HDMI 2.1 port unless you're running 4k resolutions with 120Hz. In that case you wouldn't even want this monitor

I got this monitor in Latvia, first has green pixel on bottom when dark regions appeared on center, store changed by extended warranty to new one, that also has same issue, but pixel now is less noticeable only on blue color recitable when whole picture is white. This one i did not bring back to store, not distributing me a lot. In test for monitors it is hard to notice this defect, because this defective turns on and off only on transitions between color change. Static picture test is ok. Overall monitor is good, great color, great stand. Buy it with extended warranty only.
Playing games you would not notice it at all, working with office apps it is annoying
