The real problem is that most of it wasn't "bombed out ruins" in the first place! Most of the destruction was simply a part of the postwar building boom. It's shocking when you look at the things they tore down and dug up! Even the vast river meadows were destroyed for raw materials to make the concrete monstrosities as the ugly, brutalist wave swept across the nation.

I weep for my ancestral homeland. I weep for the brave men lost. I weep for what can never be regained. Mostly, I weep for revenge. We are the same men that conquered earth. We are them. They are us. I'm tired of knowing how disappointed they are of us. I'm ready to give my life if I make the world better for anyone who lives after me.

Idea .... why don't you get the Scyldings people to begin a Scottish dancing thing as a sort of cultural symbol and fulcrum. It's fun and a lot of traditional culture is encoded within it. Even make it an elitarian thing.
Also, I was thinking about the Masons how a small organised group that could also manifest their ideas in particular work .... came to have power.
Also, I was surprised to hear that there is an Apollo club at Oxford etc...
Maybe it's time for a wider sprinkling of people to get involved.
