This for me is the whole point of comic orientated content in other media. streamline great story arcs and make them palatable to a wide and enthusiastic audience who will be eager to read more.

Exactly!! I am an old school X Men Chris Claremont Era fan. I grew up reading and re-reading the comics. This was a FANTASTIC recreation of Inferno. It was stripped to the basic story but left enough to pay homage (while telling the story they wanted to tell) to the original storyline. IF you liked this, go read Inferno. It’s gets crazier than this! Its peak late 80s X Men right before Jim Lee comes on as artist.
Didn't realize it when I watched the episode, but clone Jean to Goblin Queen had a very magical girl transformation sequence. I was like, 'That's Sailor Moon's transition!'

Beast was telling Bishop about Sinister. He wasn't there when they fought him. Same goes for Storm and Forge. The only time they met was in alternate timelines. She wasn't in the episodes with current Forge.
Did we ever see current Forge, who is somehow still alive in Bishop's future?

@@LeVidocq Bishop's future was 2055. So only 58 years in the future where Forge is an old man (albeit "comics old" where you only get grey streaks in your hair and a few wrinkles). So he'd probably be about 85-90 years old at most.
Figure between his tech, medicine background and good (mutant) genes, he aged more gracefully (and the dark futures kept him active and fit for survival purposes). But old enough to be spending most of his time in a lab instead of on the front lines.
Im so glad Annie Richardson finally gets a shout out in terms of Jean's backstory cuz its without a doubt one of the more amazing details of Jean's past. For anyone unaware Annie gets hit with a car while they are playing causing a young Jean to use her power for the first time. Linking her and her best friends consciousnesses together and very briefly stopping Annie from dying. This one moment of stopping death gains the attention of The Phoenix Force causing it to intervene saving Jean who has, for one shining moment, impressed a cosmic entity. Years later having taken the knowledge to fly a rocket and shielding all her friends from the radiation that is slowly but surely killing her the Phoenix once more intervenes and thus sends Jean down a path of highest highs and lowest lows. It drives me nuts that the movies just cheapen that by saying "Jean just always has that power in her we dont want to do cool cosmic things I guess"
I love how BEAST immediately followed MORPH by using the "Jean Doe" label.
I give this episode 5/5 grown men rediscovering how a sexual awaking feels.

@@Luna-zw6te There's definitely a reason that his scene with Morph is the only "recap montage" scene that has been kept in every intro title sequence so far.
She has to call sinister "father" because she already calls Scott Daddy.
In the original show, it was hinted at that Cable was related to Scott and Jean.
Anyone else think during the Madelyn costume reveal was going on Adam's silence was him trying to figure out how to bring up to Amanda to cosplay as Goblin Queen?
So just to get this outta the way, goblin queen stole that runway after strutting and stunting on the x-men. But sinister and his evil lips HAVE TO GO!!!!

This episode was fantastic! This is exactly want I wanted and so much more! Give me more of this amazing batshit insanity! These are the trippy as hell X-Men stories I've waited so long for! I'm so happy to have these X-Men back as a family because this is what I missed the most! The chaotic energy from the X-Men as they go through hell trying to figure out what the heck is going on. This is exactly what's going to get me tuning in every week for this incredible show! 🌟✨️🎆 10/10 episode!!!

Everyone assumes it's real but the goblin queen was already messing with them at this point but it was probably just one training session and gambit fear made it go on forever , cause even if they were that blatant other people need to use the danger room and hes leading the team and takes it seriously ,and he could just use his actual bedroom if he wanted

Gambits hair is the Kiefer Sutherland (David) rocker mullet from “The Lost Boys”, and I love it. Just from a design standpoint, this show is so much fun to watch. I fill like it’s establishing a new standard, not just for animation, but in how to make a fresh adaptation of a series that’s 3 decades old.

The one problem I had with this episode was how FAST everyone switched up on Jean/Madelyn when they found out. It felt a little rushed, and I can understand why Madelyn got so mad at that
To be fair, the empirical evidence indicated she wasn't Jean, so there's definitely an element of "if we just trust her based on our feelings, and she's an imposter, we could all die".

Now I'm just envisioning Morph turning into a blanket like a reverse T-1000 floor/coffee cup guard, T2-type situation.
One thing that left me scratching my head is, if this Goblin Queen is entirely psychic and doesn't have any demonic powers, where did her costume come from?
My headcanon is that she was already wearing a leather corset and thigh high boots under her normal clothes because that was supposed to be a "mom and dad" night.
I think she wasn't a perfect clone of Jean, and when Sinister activated the crystal it triggered previously dormant aspects of her DNA, adding transmutation or conjuration to her list of mental powers.
Man, Jay would lose his mind if he read how Scott handled this in the comics...
I have a theory, I feel that back in Season 4 when Mr. Sinister teams up with Apocalypse, Sinister kidnapped Jean and somehow switches Jean with Madeline Pryor and Cyclops saves Madeline instead of Jean leaving her behind.
Yes Adam it was the Dark Web arc in the recent Amazing Spider man run. Mixed feeling about the story itself. Also Ben Reilly’s name is Chasm in that story.

Interesting how they boiled a long and VERY convoluted character story and boils it down to the bones.

Im pretty sure the poetic speech Sinister used while leaving was some kind of code that messed with Madeline's mind.
Two things: Major GRR for removing Storm from the intro. 2. I like how they low-key showcased Jean's rare, oldschool ability to manipulate the fibers in her clothing to look like something else. It wasn't a magic girl transformation, it was all Jean. Or Clone Jean. You could even call it.... Mad-nificent. *runs away*

I think too many people are misrepresenting that moment..it's not Cyclops abandoning his son, it's him refusing to participate in letting go of him.

The only thing that really makes this silly is that Sinister could've just let Scott and Jean have the baby as intended and then take it. Or he could've made the baby in a test tube, or cloned a Scott and watched the clones knock boots if that's his kink. In the comics the problem was that Jean was dead.

I think they did a great episode because I am real mad about how Madelyne got the short end of the stick. Lady just had a baby, they know it was her who had the baby. And she was still the one who left! They know she was around at least 9 months or so with no issues, its so bad on the entire team that they can't support both Jeans at once ramblerant over
