Oh yeah I would not compare our Canadian infrastructures to USA. It's not even close. But considering it is Canada, the Confederation Bridge is quite long yes lol
Thats a freakin good question...but I'm pretty sure it helped its tourism alot making it easier to visit than ever. The only flaw is the toll. At 45$ it's quite expensive. But I come to say that if you came to visit P.E.I. you did a long ride to get there.... you can certainly afford it. Thanks for commenting my friend.
What a lame bridge ! Single lane - no view whatsoever of the ocean - soild lines so no possiblity to pass Sunday drivers ! Not even a rest area to take a dump !!!! 🤮
I know right? I like this bridge, but in case of an eventual population boom on PEI island, there is no way to widen this bridge. They should have made it wider in first place IMO...tho, It's still quite the improvement compared to the former Ferry...
Thank you ! There is usually a new video on my channel every 2 weeks. I need to come back to your province in 2017 :) Feel free if you have some requests.
thanks for the video we watchd this as a school video awhile back as info
Oh wow, nice! I am honoured you guys did. What was the reason? Were you learning about the historic background of the Confederation bridge?
That's some amazing engineering! Some of the best infrastructure is the result of an 'unsolicited proposal'. Great video!
+European Roads Surprising isn't ? I like to learn that kind of interresting facts that no one seems to know lol
I am glad you liked it !
It is now broken in the centre and there is no way on and off the island.
What do you mean broken ?
Really great video! It's nice to see videos from close to home.
And thanks for featuring my channel!
+Freeway Tim My pleasure you deserves it ! ;) It was an honour for me to cover that unique canadian infrastructure :)
FYI: the song is called Avalon by Enmass
Thanks jason but I was mentionned at the end of the video.
@@FreewayFranks Oh I see I didn't watch the end...Your welcome...I love that song...awesome with the video as well!
No worries my friend. Thanks for watching ! Check out my other videos if you have time !
thanks for the history of the bridge. I don't know if I could drive it, I tend to have panic attacks. I'm so tired of being scared.
Yes you can drive it. The speed limit is not very fast and the walls on both sides of the road are blocking the view, so you can feel safe.
I feel the same I like the ferry crossing better
That's an amazing video of the Confederation Bridge, Since I go to Summerside PEI sometimes from Halifax, NS.
I am also a fan of the maritimes. So beautiful, so much ''Vacation land''.
Wow, that is one long bridge. Cool and well researched video!
+InterstateJD Thank you very much ! It was one of the funiest video I ever made ! :) Stay tuned, there is more to come !
InterstateJD ejw×2
that bridge is crazy long. How do ships pass, it seems kind of low though.
+Trans Canada Phil In the middle of the bridge, There is a large hump as seen at 3:25. Its rare that large ships pass through the straight anyway.
+Freeway Tim Thanks for answering :)
+Trans Canada Phil And 4 times longer in person to cross the bridge lol
ya I don't know why a ship would decide to go through the the strait since the there is the Atlantic ocean right beside them
I duno either lol
I noticed the traffic signals along the bridge. Is that to control the flow of traffic and disperse the weight of vehicles along the span?
Hey Jon. No, I rather think it's to remind people some safety measures, per example, not using your cellphone or buckle up yourself while driving.
We definitely have some pretty long Bridges here in the United States, but yeah that is a long Bridge, it actually looks kind of amazing

Great video and info!
Hope to cross it this year!
Thank you Squirrel Boss! Are you from the Maritime Provinces?
thank again for the nice video
Thanks for the kind comment!
love pei
It's so awesome. I need to explore more of this island.
Awesome video! I wonder how much the opening of the bridge directly impacted PEI? I'm pretty sure It's not as isolated as it once was

Hopewell Rocks(Flower pots) are near Hillsborough Albert county New Brunswick, not PEI.
Yeah. My apologies for the mistake. I know it now lol I should have doubled checked myself when I made the video ;)
I've visited Hopewell Rocks this summer. Very impressive!
7:04 The Hopewell Rocks are not in Prince Edward Island.
Yeah I know it now. My apologies for the mistake :P ...and thanks for watching!
I think its the longest bridge in the world
One of the longest. 49th longest in the world according to Wikipedia.
I HAVE TO PASS THAT TO GET BACK HOME OMG

That's an expensive way to get back home lol Do they have discounts?
Thanks for the video but use music to match your location.
