Yoko Taro for some reason likes that kinda stuff. Drakengard 1 and 3 had secret final bosses that were rhythm fights rather than action fights and if you didn't get the rhythm correct you died. Shit was some of the hardest boss fights I ever experienced and Yoko Taro is a damn sadist for making those bosses.

But if both games have the capacity to make you cry despairingly, then just calling it a running around and killing stuff and finding loot with a nice ost is really doing it a disservice. You're making the games sound so basic, when anyone who's played the games will tell you that they are some of the most complex games out there.
There's a lot of voice stuff where the volume is based on your camera yeah...And pretty sure the flash at the end with the robot in the baseball cap is supposed to be her imagining the pod "looking her way"

ohmygod, does anyone realize that everytime the circle laser or the bouncing bullet launched there is a bell ringing EXACTLY as when it's fired! and it is making the song and the battle more epic! so the game developer also synchronize the attacks sound effect with the music!! actually i found many version of this song including with the bell. but still, oh my god i really appreciate towards this game and whoever behind it. just from a man who really loves bells ringing sound.
The bells are all tied directly to her attacks, not the music. So past the first phase where she has a fixed rotation the bells will chime differently every time.
By the way, the HUD looks like this for a reason. On very hard mode, you die in one hit and no lock in, so your attacks may not always hit. People underestimate how hard this game is sometimes. Even on the normal difficulty, it’s still a hard game.

This fight brought me to the game. I thought this would be the most emotional and most impressive fight with the most tragic backstory in the whole game ... little did I know they would put that in squares with each of the routes, applying an infinite amount of loss and despair on the whole setting ... and you understand more and more what really happened.
I just came by to watch this song with the full fight after watching Alex Moukala's React vid, and hoooooollly cow, do I have more appreciation for the nuances that went in to the song and fight, and it's absolutely cemented as one of my favorite. At 4:39, after her dress has burned away and she falls over backwards, a hand on her chest, and the song comes over, Chaos language of course, but Alex mentions it sounds Italian for "It hurts here in my heart," and I just cannot. T.T Simone, I am so sorry you went through this.
That is the best boss for me. Considering your game experience for the 3 boss the "fight experience" for the first time is amazing compared with other boss fights. And freaking good playing at very hard, can't take a single hit!

I really love the idea of the machines being left to their own devices on earth and doing their best to replicate humanity and it just resulting in tragedy and madness.
It's really good, just make sure you keep playing after the credits roll. It's divided into 2 parts and presents the end of each part as an ending which causes a lot of people to just kinda stop half way through.
I bought it recently myself, i see so many cosplays of this character and finally got the game to see what it was all about and not dissapointed at all, definitely worth getting if you get the chance, the whole game has that epic feel and sound, bosses, story, etc 👍

This is my first time hearing the characters with the English dub and it sounds so strange haha. I like 2B’s English voice but 9s sounds so much manlier and stern compared to his soft, emotional Japanese voice. Very interesting! The robots still sound amazing and this boss fight was probably my favorite.
For those who are still watching this, at 2:52 you can see one corpse with his eyes covered just like 9s. 9s is a hacker. Which can give the info of why the boss can hack

when the damn crucified corpses rain down. and her attacks syncing with the music. and her tortured screams. "someone help!" the 8 bit hacking music. the whole thing is so dramatic and sad and surreal.
This is the only boss I fought in hard mode because I was so tired of losing all my HP in one or two hits. Regardless I enjoyed my time fighting this boss. I’m at the start of route B and it’s still the best boss so far.
I'm playing it on hard and having trouble with this fight. First time playing it i have shity chips probably my katana is level 2 and I'm use beast lord for heavy attack. Always die at the part where she jumps and shoots out the red rings on the floor one always gets me

OST so epic that i enjoyed being destroyed 20+ times.
The best part of it are the bells whenever it attacks, wich kinda makes it unique every time you do it.

this kinda feels like a Drakengard 3 boss with all the music synchronized attacks, then again this is a sequal to Drakengard.
That's more just from it being made by the same core people. Same geniuses and prodigies.
NieR is actually a spin off to Drakengard, actually. Kind of like how Persona is the spin off to Shin Megami Tensei.

I gave up on chips pretty fast with very hard lol, I don't think you can level your weapons past 2 at that point with mats you can get.
