This is my first time listening to this song as it played on autoplay by accident while i was doing something else. When i heard this song it made me stop what I was doing and sit and listen.
The Simone fight has to be my favourite in Automata, the music, voicing, gameplay, later her backstory, even the buildup through the theme park. I love every part of the Songstres chapter.
I have been playing the game over and over just to see this intro the soundtrack on this game is very nice it matches the battle. Just like when you play god of war an DMC! I freaking love it I play it in my car everyday!
In DoD the watchers are called 天使(angels) in Japanese, because they are sent by the gods to destroy humanity. The written language they used in Drakengard is called the Angelic Alphabet(Celestial Alphabet), which was created by someone in the 16th Century in the real world. The font itself was not created by the composer of the songs, but exists before that, DoD and Nier simply used it in their games. Chaos is the language she sang in. Get your facts straight.
Every time I hear this song I just hear This is my song My darkened song This my song of horror Defeat the song Destroy the song This is my song of torture
You have to put into consideration that the song has been a subject of lore since Drakengard, ever since the invasion of the Grotesquerie Queen in Tokyo and the White Chlorination Syndrome. So thousands of years later, the song is still a thing that it affects machine life forms in one way or another.
When I played this game for the first time and when Opera gave that super loud scream it instilled fear in me, the first thing I thought was "I'm not going to be able to beat him", for me it is one of the bosses that impacted me the most
This might be late but I hear the higher voice as the boss before she started changing. The second voice is her at the end of her life after going through all of those transformation (in this battle).
I'm not sure why, but something feels so good about that first verse ending as soon as she lands. Then the second verse begins when she starts to go on the offense. Watching and hearing that timing just makes the brain feel good.
0:46 I know it’s not but I can’t stop myself from hearing real lyrics “This pompous scene. With silver tongue, We sing a song of horror. Begin the song. This timeless song. We’ll swim and drown in slaughter.” Dunno where I got it but I can no longer hear it any other way

This is actually so good, yet underrated. I love how these lyrics phonetically match the original chaos language.
Oh, wow.
Whenever I listen to this, I tend to sing along according with what I think are the lyrics.
Its amazing to find this video!
One of the best boss fights ever! Perfect foreshadowing, setup, presentation, variety, level of challenge and...of course: the music!
Not to mention that it gave us valuable nuances into the robots "minds".
Update: just played this part on my second playthrough and I felt so bad for Simone... Her story is so sad and tragically...beautiful!
Glad she got her own beautiful and unique song.
Her voice turning from sweet singing to a desperate yell during the first two seconds always make me shiver. Everyone who doesn't recognize videogames as something which can be art in its most absolute and visceral form should play this game. Thank you Taro sensei, there should be more game designers like you
underrated
You know, this boss screams "HELP MEEEE!" when it's low on health...
I love how some lyrics are very similar to Italian (which makes sense, since Simone Is an Italianization of Simon)
0:53 "Nel sogno muore" -> It dies in the dream
1:02 "Come il sol" -> Like the sun
1:48 "Fa male qui nel cuore" -> It hurts here in my heart
I mean Simone's name is from Simone de Beauvoir, and she's french lol
I speak french and eglish , smh i was able to understand what u wrote in jtalian !
It's not ment to be any specific language and be translated. Its similar to Latin as it's a lost language, but it's not translateable.
Its basically a made up language they used for the games music
@@phantomnite i know it's gibberish, but there are still a lot of parts in the song that have a sense when translated.
It's not Canon, but it's still fascinating.
@@asimplerenafan7695 a lot if it does sound like proper words but still, it doesn't have any meaning
Nier Automata's OST is one of the best music I have ever heard in video games. This will live forever.
This is the type of music that really catches my ears everytime. Dynamic and filled with different sections that make up the whole song so beautifully and very harmonious.
This masterpiece bgm is unforgettable, those bgm stay with me the whole childhood
Here after hear it in Japan Olympic Games in Artistics
Anyone here after watching Cecilia Immergreen played a violin solo of this during her debut today?
IM HERE.
Incredible debut!
I’m 3 months late to the comment but yeah that is indeed why I’m here
The greatest boss fight that I've ever played in a video game! It was such an incredible experience that I'll never forget.
after episode 4 i'm here 🤩
😎😎😎
0:31 I love thee to ever after
Interpretation
Intro
This is not love, this is madness
Beautiful rose turned to ashes
Please stop
Verse
Now I’m, filled with all this beauty
Surely, now I am worthy
Please love me
Doing this for you
And you still won’t look at me
Chorus
Born with beauty
Love does know you
If you would just look inside
She’s too far gone
She dimmed her light
Tearing herself, that’s beauty
Verse
Now I can see that
I destroyed what was,
Who i am or who I’ll be
‘S unknown
I can’t stop
Now I am someone else
Thought I could become worthy
But you still won’t look at me
Please Look!
finding this song randomly while studying made me play Nier Automata, and god I'm grateful for it.
Literalmente "una hermosa canción"
e ue
This is one of those bosses you just want to experience again for the first time.
"A Beautiful Song". Honestly, accurate name. I can't figure out if it's the music itself or Emi's GORGEOUS vocal work, but some parts of this song literally move me to tears. Thanks for the romaji, mate. Much appreciated.
These are the lyrics I transcribed :) You guys may want to try to sing along to them. Tell me what you think.

So, the alphabet must be read as the italian one ":/ I don't know how the other neo-latin languages read it, but for sure it's italian-like. I'm not surprised to have seen the comment of a person who may have heard some italian words in the chorus!
Reminds me of german lmao
this is not just a video game. it is an art; a masterpiece
I forgot how awesome this game is, I really need to play it again.
This is the best boss in the game. It's a shame there wasn't more unique fights like this.
The singer made up the language for the OST I just can't with this games awesomeness
I have been playing the game over and over just to see this intro the soundtrack on this game is very nice it matches the battle. Just like when you play god of war an DMC! I freaking love it I play it in my car everyday!
No matter how many times I listen to this I get shivers
i love these songs, i would try to learn then and sing it a competition or something bc its epic
This is the moment where i truly fell in love with this game
One thing we can count on Square Enix for, is their amazing soundtracks for the games they make

"We sing of horror,
Begin the song,
This timeless song,
We'll swim in blood and slaughter"
I knew that something was missing when listening to the official ost on YT: it was Simone.
Thanks for including her. Her voice is really beautiful
Fun fact: During the summer Olympics of 2024 the Japan's swim team used this for there entrance
the beginning always gets me, it's the best part imo
Nicely done on the angelic.
Just about to say that until I saw your response.
Azmunt the Skoom I am wood
This boss is fire, not hard not easy, is pure adrenaline and the song is marvelous.
Me: * playing NieR Automata for the first time *
Opera singer: * appears *
Me: "ho damn, mecha-Intoner!"
Could you imagine how hard the fight would be if Simone had intoner mode
one of my favourite bosses, creepy but gorgeous and love the song
I love the scream at the beginning I wish it’s part of the ost
This song blew me the fuck away when I first heard it. It is still to this day one of my top 5 favorite songs.
This game and music is a masterpiece .
Every time I hear this song I just hear
This is my song
My darkened song
This my song of horror
Defeat the song
Destroy the song
This is my song of torture
Wtaf
You have to put into consideration that the song has been a subject of lore since Drakengard, ever since the invasion of the Grotesquerie Queen in Tokyo and the White Chlorination Syndrome.
So thousands of years later, the song is still a thing that it affects machine life forms in one way or another.
I love that the machine diva's singing at the start sounds like an alarm while still having a hint of a human woman's voice.
ngl this is one of the most memorable bosses ive ever fought. Defiantly top 5 in my list for best bosses
0:00 This is one of the most scariest part of the song. I like it
When I played this game for the first time and when Opera gave that super loud scream it instilled fear in me, the first thing I thought was "I'm not going to be able to beat him", for me it is one of the bosses that impacted me the most
People from year 3000 are gonna think it was a real language
Thanks for the video man, i'm in love with this game
"From break and ruin, the most beautiful performance begins."
This might be late but I hear the higher voice as the boss before she started changing. The second voice is her at the end of her life after going through all of those transformation (in this battle).
Appreciate you keeping the bells in. Awesome!
He spoke of sin,
His silver tongue,
It sings a song of murder
He did not stop
His tongue a sword
Who sweared it'll drown in slaughter
I'm not sure why, but something feels so good about that first verse ending as soon as she lands. Then the second verse begins when she starts to go on the offense. Watching and hearing that timing just makes the brain feel good.
When it's in a fictional language but it still tugs your heartstrings
Time to make a cover.
Majo Ellen oh cool! would you mind linking me when you've done it? ^^
M-my voice is trash but, for the sake of letting you see the fruits of your labor, yes i suppose I shall.
I finally did the cover, finnaalllyyy!!!
Majo Ellen Send me the liiiink!

Nier Automata OST - "A Beautiful Song"
"Do you have the slightest idea how little that narrows it down?"
Im just in love with the 1:45 part, the way the background vocals start overtaking and completely take over at 1:59 is mesmerizing.
This song certainly hits different after fighting Louise in Nier Replicant
One day, TH-cam only recomended this video and I watched it. After that, I decided to look for more, and then... I found the great NieR:Automata :')
Adoro esta canción desde que llegue a esa parte del juego, es simplemente perfecta, tanto la melodía como el jefe, la ambientación, todo
simplemente sublime tanto tiempo buscando hasta que encontre tus videos, muchas gracias
0:46 I know it’s not but I can’t stop myself from hearing real lyrics
“This pompous scene.
With silver tongue,
We sing a song of horror.
Begin the song.
This timeless song.
We’ll swim and drown in slaughter.”
Dunno where I got it but I can no longer hear it any other way
never noticed the spotlight that follows 2B around during the fight.
Simone is in sync with the music in that boss fight. Her moves change when the rhythm change.
Everytime I hear this sound track. I find myself uttering... FUCK THIS IS REALLY SUCH A GREAT SOUNDTRACK.... every single time.
the fact that you can HEAR _O Fortuna_ in this, especially at 0:46, but it's not quite right, like someone is trying to replicate it and is getting it wrong...
here we go again
back here after one year of playing this game
totally forgot about this song but this was THE song which put nier in my radar
Giga Cheddar brought me here
Same
every single composition in this game gives me goosebumps
